I love how you showcase every little detail with excellent camera angles. Your explanation of every detail is so informative. I didn’t even understand the proper guillotine grip until now! Thank you so much!
You are the first person to finally show where the hands actually go with some great camera work. Thanks! Also, I had zero clue you could choke someone by only cutting off one side. Can't wait to get back to the gym to start trying this out!
This is the best demonstration with the camera angles I’ve seen so far. The world class guys explain it well, but the camera quality and angle is terrible, so they do me no good.
It would be so easy for those guys to hire an editor / camera guy too. They do a great job with the technique, and have the money, but they need to show things close up like the grip
and this is how an 8 min extremely high quality video, with insanely perfecly explained technical details, just knocked down decates of previously poorly assimilated knowledge about the topic! man, if u dont know, u dont know.. thank you very much for sharing!
Simply stunning tuition. The best I have seen. Very clear instructions, zero stupid overly loud music, slow motion highlights. And great camera angles. Thank you. I learnt a LOT
I started BJJ last July and have been scouring your channel in the past month. I truly think you are the best BJJ content creator out there. Your videos have insane amounts of information and comedy, making learning so much easier. The videos where you commentate and explain why people's moves are working or not working (quack) are invaluable to me. Thank you! Not sure if you'll see this comment or not since this video is a year old haha.
The close up camera angles and fine details with straight instructions is un matched by any other videos BY FAR!! I thought I knew how to guillotine but now I cant wait to hit the mats. ❤ thank you like and subscribed!!
This is by far the best channel for bjj learning due to the excellent camera technique and angles with slow motion. One of the best on TH-cam. There's so much you miss without the various angles that other channels just cannot or don't bother to show. Sub'd
I don't comment much on videos but this is hands down THE BEST guillotine video I've ever seen. I have been looking for a good instructional video for the guillotine for ages but none of them were very clear. This video is spot on, so Thank You Tyler! Best wishes from the UK.
Just wanted to say a big thank you. Watched this video about 4-5 times before my training session tonight (white belt, 3-4 months training) and managed to successfully finish a Guillotine after many unsuccessful times of trying without really knowing how to. Not to be a bragging asshole, just wanted to say thank you for this and for all your videos, there's always loads of great things to take away from every one 🙏🙌

Bro this tutorial is absolute Gold! I'm definitely going to be practicing this relentlessly. You instruction is precise and the video is filmed expertly. Happy Thanksgiving!
I'll have to try it in rolling, but this is a revelation. I think I've just never known how to do guillotines before this. Super excited to try out this hand positioning. Thanks Tyler!

My brother I’m a white belt very small with no muscle. 5”9 the shortest one in my gym & have been able get their head , but no finishing. This video is amazing! The angles, the way you teach, you talk slow, give & show tips, buddy absolutely amazing! First time on the channel, but now you have a new subscriber! Man if you could do more stuff like this focusing on techniques & advice/plans for white belts that would be awesome! I’m just blown away how very well made this tutorial was. Hands down new fav channel on TH-cam! I've seen you hitting bulk guillotines in your rolling footage and now the technique has been revealed. Legend for sharing the knowledge!
Nice vid Tyler. I’ve been anticipating this one. I really like your content, especially the humorous stuff and the memes you post. I’m a fan of the Silver Fox Karl Pravec shallow guillotine. You may be familiar already but the grip looks like this emoji 🤌 with the throat placed in the crook of the wrist. He emphasizes keeping the shoulder forward as to never see the back of your opponent’s neck to prevent the head from popping out. It’s basically like scratching your own armpit on the same side. Btw I don’t actually train. I’m just a huge martial arts enthusiast who watches too much TH-cam. Keep up the great work! 💪
@@TylerSpangler I did my one 2hr class for the week and out of 12 legit guillotine attempts, and not fakes for a gaurd pass, i landed 3 😁 your technique has trippled my success! If ya know what I mean...🤣

Alright brother, watched the video last week and tried this today first time, worked great. I'll smooth it out now I'm going to try and use this a lot. Love the finesse of this, blood choke without the brutality of other chokes. Good stuff, great video.
Hey man your editing skills make me really jealous, you have to stop that right away :-) Aside that would you hit those guillotines exactly the same right and left hands? As the 3rd principle of asymmetry of the human body forces to consider that point. The golden detail of this video is the thumb position on their carotid and the four fingers griping with the other hand I have never seen that anywhere, and the camera angle is fantastic

Thanks for the video! Question: since the chock is only plugging one side of the neck, can it put someone to sleep? Or is this more of a pain/neck crank tap? Thanks!
Amazing video, Tyler! A black belt named Tyrone Coppedge who lives in Brisbane, Australia, used to hit the T-uillotine on me 10 years ago. He even called it the T-uillotine because his nickname is T.
That was an excellent video! Great how you showed the detailed hand position and some nice entries. Love to see more breakdowns. Thanks from Australia.
Ive been hitting guillotines so much that people call me the Guillotine guy. And still that very shallow grip detail was pure gold. Ive been finishing guillotine and arm in guillotine with a chin strap grip and it has worked great ,but this shallow version actually makes it harder for people to fight my grips. Thank you for this video!
Is the guillotine from mount and side control also using the shallow grip? Or is it a different grip? In the video, it looks like the grip is at the chin.
Very nice camera work, excellent instruction. This video will help anyone who watches this. Thank you sir, you are doomed to have a huge channel. Subscription granted
