Maybe I'm completely ignorant, but wouldn't most bakeries have one person (or team) who bakes the cake, and somebody else who decorates it? Particularly in the case of the 5-star bakery?

We'd probably charge 180-200 based on our tier cake prices we've done in the past. (We couldn't do the minion or Taylor due to copywrite but I would definitely do the stick figure)
i really love watching qt do stuff like this, I feel like it doesn't get the hype / views it deserves but she has such an impressive way of sharing her knowledge without coming off patronizing and she's genuinely so talented at what she does!!! can't wait to see the content that comes out of the bakery!!

Is it possible your 5star cake is from an Asian bakery and that the cake was a sponge cake- which is way less sweet than an angel food cake and whipped cream with fresh fruit filling. When you’re used to cakes being so sweet, it’s a stark difference than a more traditional Asian/Chinese bakery cake that has toned down flavors
Best thing I advise I ever heard a professional baker give was on a baking show when the contestant said as an excuse “it’s fancy, it’s for looking not taste” and he reminded her it’s ALWAYS for taste. It’s not a 5 star cake if it looks good but tastes awful. May as well just give someone a foam cake. How it looks is important but Taste is a top priority for me. Obviously, when it’s for fun I care even less about how it looks😅
