Hell practically every Asian country has some version or variant on it. Sliced/smashed cucumber, some form of vinegar, flavor on the form of soy sauce/sesame oil/chili oil/spices. Basic as it gets.
@@averyhua3439 Lots of Asian country has similar dish so it would be exaggeration to call it a 'Taiwanese dish', and moreover @Logaagm who start this trend did post this recipe as Korean cuisine so technically, it indeed is Korean dish.
The secret to good cucumber salad is thiiiin slices, salting a bit, waiting 10 minutes, and SQUEEZING THEM WITH THE FORCE OF GOD in a strainer before adding toppings/sauce. (You can rinse after to get rid of excess salt, but make sure to strain the water out) The flavor is way brighter and less watered down, it’s how sushi restaurants make their sunomono so good
Do you have a video for this internet stranger? I am tempted to recreate but, in my mind, squeezing already thin slices seems like it would cause them to mush or tear.
The thing I hate about Tiktok is that people just makes stuff and because you cant taste it they just say it tastes good and it goes viral despite the fact that most of the time its just smoke and mirrors, and all about presentation even if its shit
@trendybistro it's the same feeling I get when they told me the put an extra slice of cheese in the middle to get a good cheese pull, because I've made grilled cheeses and the pull isn't that good because when you cut it there shouldn't be that good of a cheese pull
The rice paper croissants makes me so upset it’s like the cloud bread 😭😭 people will make anything and act as if it’s revolutionary when it’s simply a gross hot mess
I feel like you could make the flat croissant idea better by just layering a bunch of sliced white bread and butter, flattening it, and then toasting it in the sugar-butter mixture. Sliced white bread would toast better and crisp up more.
Sorted recently did the rice paper Croissant thingy too. I don't think they particularly liked it either. I also think most tiktok trends boil down to "was it presented by a hot person? " If the answer is yes, people will like it and go nuts for it. If not, nobody cares. If your recipe no longer works if you have a fat balding 50 something making it, then the food isn't good and people just want to sleep with you.
I was doing Binghulu as a kid when I put frozen blueberries in my cheerios, cant use strawberries because of how big they are, smaller berries like blueberries are better because you can get good bite angles on them even when cold.
The cucumber salad has no measurements cause in Asia at least from my experience most of the times we just stop until our ancestors tell us to stop we do it with our gut feel hahaha. Logan is pretty much inspired by asian cuisine with his style of cooking when he did that cucumber recipe 😁
Am I crazy why slices? just smash the cucumber till it breaks you get better fault lines for the sauce to sit in, then salt and sugar to draw out the water and drain then do the rest.
For a second I was so confused when she said cucumber salad, cause that's such a normal thing over here in germany and I thought it was one of those "the US just doesn't know about it yet" things But I am so happy she just made an "Asian" cucumber salad For a sec I was really confused how cucumbers with oil and vinegar, some dill and sugar could go viral xD Great video, also love that you made suggestions at how to improve the dishes
the cream cheese bagel is like a pastry Paris Baguette sells in Asia, it's literally the same thing except it's not a bagel and the middle is the cream cheese bit..
These remind of Tanara Double Chocolate. -"Everyone's SOO CREATIVE" xD she sounds kinda like "Know how it looks like a cookie? but its not, know how it looks like someone was late walkin to work during rush hour? You see in his kitchen we are going to be differently different today, why make the crossiants yourself? why bother making a pancake, we can just flatten a crossiant and dip it in chocolate, you see how proud he is? like he cooked it all on his own. But he didnt." 11
I think QT should do a "fixing viral TikTok Food Trends" video :)
I like this!
I feel like this would be a lot more fun than just pointing out how bad everything on TikTok is 😂
💯😂
@@Noooiiiissseee Same, plus, some of them have "good bones" and could be made into something actually good.
Yessss
Cucumber salad is funny to me cause it is just a Korean dish. The guy who went viral for it literally just spends a lot of time in Korea
Making kimchi was his thing for a while
Hell practically every Asian country has some version or variant on it. Sliced/smashed cucumber, some form of vinegar, flavor on the form of soy sauce/sesame oil/chili oil/spices. Basic as it gets.
Logaagm?
Actually insane to call this trend Korean when they name Din Tai Fung, a Taiwanese restaurant serving Shanghainese food, as the inspiration ☠️
@@averyhua3439 Lots of Asian country has similar dish so it would be exaggeration to call it a 'Taiwanese dish', and moreover @Logaagm who start this trend did post this recipe as Korean cuisine so technically, it indeed is Korean dish.
You can be a kickass cooking TH-camr if you ever decide Twitch is too much
I mean she kinda is .....
Yup
stop the cap
Real
thats way too much effort for her, may be now sam from h3 will be able to up the quality of her streams. i bet this stream was her idea.

Yeah putting salt on it and then immediately rinsing it off is the opposite of what you want to do the cucumbers should not be wet
Ludwig: croissant 😊
QT: 👹👹👹
It’s fun watching a baker do these savory food things bc all hell breaks loose in their brain when there aren’t exact instructions/measurements lol
Do this once a week and I’ll come back each time 👍🏽

2:08 “He’s really exaggerating what I went through because he’s the better TH-camr than me” 😭😭
The salt is meant to draw the excess moisture out of the cucumber and keep the cucumber crisp. Why would you add salted water to the cucumber first?
Salting is also done to wash out the bitterness, as cucumbers have chemical mechanisms meant to keep animals away.
The thing I hate about Tiktok is that people just makes stuff and because you cant taste it they just say it tastes good and it goes viral despite the fact that most of the time its just smoke and mirrors, and all about presentation even if its shit
Welcome to marketing.

It already started way before that on facebook with Tasty! They have some insane ones in there
@@Natty11100what I noticed helps is cutting it but keeping the bread together. If it's nice and hot the cheese merges again
@Evitaschannel it does but if you notice how long the cheese pulls are then to do that you need extra cheese and merging doesn't work
qt's intuition is always right, honey works way better with watermelon than condensed milk. condensed milk is better for creamy desserts

If you make it a tiktok then you triple dipping content. And if your make the strawberry then your quadruple dipping
Honestly first QT video i watched and I did not expect to enjoy her humor to make me giggle as much as it did
Month late but also my first, quite enjoyable it is.

i will say, best chili oil is either homemade or lao gan ma.
I never tried Lao Gan Ma but Le Kum Kee is also really good
No hate to lee kum kee, love that brand in general, but the lao gan ma is way better for crispy chilli in oil @@abilawaandamari8366
OMG i thought the cucumber she was throwing around 16:00 was a knife I was so scared LOL

I think the main point here is the french dough. Otherwise they would literally use any other baked goods other than croissants.
snacking food whilst watching QT make food is the best way to stay fed
QT should do something with Mythical Kitchen!
0:12 you forgot to tell them its free!
girlypop whyd you watch the white girl version of the cucumber salad 🤣
For a second I genuinely thought this was another clickbait ‘The Yard’ thumbnail. They do be farmin
me too LMFAO
This “viral cucumber salad” is literally just like making a well flavored pickle but not waiting for it to pickle lol

I love it qt. You should do it again. Not only viral tiktok but also weirdly good recipes.
living for 17:47 Qt
12:56 That triggered my sleep reflex. Almost felt asleep
Coots has gotten big! 17:14
WE ARE SO BACK! pls make more vids like this 🙏 actually I'd just about watch QT do anything cooking/baking related
12:44 for real though... qt food-making asmr 10/10
do more of these please!! I always wanted to try these to see if they're worth it but don't have time. Ty for the video
Why did the cooking ASMR go hard ?!?!
I was doing Binghulu as a kid when I put frozen blueberries in my cheerios, cant use strawberries because of how big they are, smaller berries like blueberries are better because you can get good bite angles on them even when cold.
Impressive how much qt has kicked up her production. Good shit
QT just openly emoting her discussed with these TikTok’s is hilarious. She looks so done.
for the crossaint, i recommend a hearty version. i usually use burrata, mortadella, arugula and nuts (pistacchio or others)
and for rice paper better make fake chicken skin^^

it's almost 6am and my tummy is growling while watching this 😭
The flat croissant is only a good idea if your croissants are stale
oh my goodness another QTCinderella video yay
Loved this format ❤
This video was great, make more of these!
ain’t the cucumber salad just like a quick pickle?
Am I crazy why slices? just smash the cucumber till it breaks you get better fault lines for the sauce to sit in, then salt and sugar to draw out the water and drain then do the rest.
ty for the reminder. i always forgot about my prime sub
In Asian cooking, you measure with your HEART and your ancestor's blessing. Which is why the marinated cucumber recipe doesn't have measurements.
i went from watching ludwig spend hundreds of thousands of dollars to his SO making food.... what is my life
Ohh just found qt does this kind of content too, love it ❤❤
I actually like that she isn’t a “TH-camr“ like especially with stuff like this you get a real person just reacting
Another good video QT. 👍🏻
that was very insightful, learning about cooking was nice!
I love that the cucumber salad thing is just people discovering that seasoning exists
The cucumber salad sauce is literally just typical Gyoza sauce. Cucumbers are served with Gyoza sometimes for that reason lol.
The CWAS👹👹👹nt at 9:00 had my dogs head whip around
I'm here for the baking / cooking arc
Binghulu is traditionally covered in liquid sugar and hardened to dry.
Qt looks so good! I don’t know what she’s doing but her skin and body looks glowy!
16:42 that was a weird grunt
8:10 samwitch catching strays 😭
QTCinderella TH-cam's Princess

homeslice really slathered a half cup of butter on a pastry that's 30% butter
The 3 with high scores sound good but I could never actually be bothered to make them, good video!
I dont normally watch your content but this style is great! Very David Seymour
The Wu Tang Croissant 🤣
The cucumber salad is great if you let it marinade for a bit.
Craziest thing about this video is having a kitchen so big and no air fryer!
Make more of these please!
Plz do more of these!
omg I think I was the one that linked the logan cucumber video! or maybe one of them! happy to see you make it :D
vinegar is a great add to the salad as well
I like when people who actually cook rate these, rather than other TH-camrs, as they aren't afraid to give a 0 a 0
Great video!
your teeth are so naturally perfect i dont even know why i noticed
I love her expression of pure confusion as she watches most of those clips
the cream cheese bagel is like a pastry Paris Baguette sells in Asia, it's literally the same thing except it's not a bagel and the middle is the cream cheese bit..
The first one wasn't tanghulu. Tanghulu is fruit coated in boiled sugar then put into an ice bath so it cracks. So basically candied fruit.
4:34 jumpscare squeaky toy
You should’ve tried some Tajin on the shaved watermelon. I guarantee that would’ve been a banger
the croissant looks like wu-tang lol 10:33
Crazy that cucumber salad is a trend 😂 it’s cucumber seasoned with Asian flavors
watched someone else make the rice paper croissant, the air fryer is crucial
This was a fun strim
15:57-16:00 - way 2 crazy for me 2 handle
not using logans video for the cucumber salad is a crime
I think QT should look at the tiktok trends and makes them better with her knowledge xD
The demonic croissant is sending me
Legit going to try some of these with my gf :D
The "flattened croissant" is literally just a Beaver Tail that we get in Canada but nowhere near as good.
You could use a for processor to shave the watermellon
Thanks I'm going to try making some cucumber salad
I love the rendition of Book of Mormon stories
Thank you for doing this for us so we don't have to!
im sad she messed up the sunomono cucumber salad, easily the best of the whole video and she messed up the proportions... :(
