Lyrics
Down, down, you bring me down
I hear you knocking down my door
And I can't sleep at night
Your face it has no place
No room for you inside my house
I need to be alone
Don't waste your words
I don't need anything from you
I don't care where you've been
Or what you plan to do
Turn, turn, I wish you'd learn
There's a time and place for everything
I've got to get it through
Cut loose 'cause you're no use
I couldn't stand another
Second in your company
Don't waste your words
I don't need anything from you
I don't care where you've been
Or what you plan to do
Stone me, why can't you see
You're a no one, nowhere washed up baby
Who'd look better dead
Your tongue is far too long
I don't like the way it sucks and
Slurs upon my every word
Don't waste your words
I don't need anything from you
I don't care where you've been
Or what you plan to do
I am the resurrection and I am the life
I couldn't ever bring myself to hate you as I'd like
I am the resurrection and I am the life
I couldn't ever bring myself to hate you as I'd like - เพลง

That's awesome! Good on you!
It is a remarkably powerful song.
Respect to you! a man that conquers himself is stronger than a general that conquers a city

Hang in there brother
The instrumental. It feels like you’re being chased but you’ve got it all in hand. You know where everything is
The Stone Roses - I Am the Resurrection (Audio) 2155pm 28.9.23 i managed to get a gander inside factory's hacienda today... totally different from the obvious warehouse of yesteryear... obviously. and a bit of the floor allegedly remains - stuck, as it is, on the wall - as a seminal piece of art, i suppose. dunno if they gave it a fac number, though. we suggested it was probably a bit of the ritz's floor (the bouncy ballroom) when they did it up once over... i also discovered my ex had no issue with being told to cosey up to the "ugly bloke" as she had vacantly mistook me for someone else - which must have been a boon - when she envisaged wat t'other chap was like... . p.s if i recall correctly the old boardwalk - to enter it one had to ascend a staircase where the black door is still situated... steep staircase one had to be wary of if one had had a skin full...
I’m 50 and this song has always made me feel like I am alive. I heard it when I was 17 and it changed my view of music from that point forward. It’s an attitude
I'm also 50 years old and heard this song at 17 🙌
Possibly the most sublime 8 mins in music.
It's fucking perfect from start to finish. Loved it when I was 15 and love it now I'm 43
Could listen the 3 of then jam forever
Squire’s guitar playing here is some of the best of all time. Blows my mind every time I hear it-He’s so underrated.
Because he has a reputation for being an arsehole
I totally agree! I was brought up guitartsts like Hendrix...I was the odd one it but I love certain instruments.. guitar's.. especially bass.. and drums!
Stone Roses remind me of the days of the musician.. especially guitarists and drummers. RIP Remy 😢
I agree he's amazing, but he's not underrated - I'm sure a huge number of people would agree that he's a genius guitarist
Super yes
Very underated but he's a class act
I am 15 years old and all my life I have liked this band and others like it and it is thanks to my dad, so dad if you ever see this thank you very much for everything
Very cool of you. Dad's got to be a cool bloke as well to turn you on to this funky groove.
Same here I'm 14 and my dad always plays this in the car
Rad dad
Everybodys 15 these days on YT. Gie it a rest FFS
If you are here your dad did a great job, you have to be sure of that.
You could jam this song forever and it wouldnt get boring once.
Can't get enough of this song.
Oasis>blur
@@urmumisfat9407facts mate
Stones of manchesterrrrr come on
I'm 47 and I really miss the early 90s.
Stone Roses debut album among the greatest of all time & certainly my fave ever. Just an absolute masterpiece where every tune flows into the next one like a near perfect groove
More stone roses
The sound of the absolute arrogance and swagger of a band that knew at that point in time and space they could do no wrong.....stand-out track from a near perfect album
And then came Liam Gallagher... lol
Oasis had two near perfect albums, the Roses had one
@@thehummusgavemeaids1596 Oasis had two near perfect albums, the Roses had one....perfect album.
@@TheAgandaur Correct statement.
Oasis are, excuse my French, very mediocre. A shit man's Beatles made good by a popular wave of lad culture and catchy tunes. Don't get me wrong, lad culture ain't bad, but The Bends passes all over the best Oasis album and it's not even Radiohead's best
Imagine being one of the Roses, in the studio recording this, and about 5 minutes in thinking, "fucking hell, we rock"
Well said 👏 👌 👍
Throw the guitar and walk away when done!
😂😂😂😂😂
Went to see Liam Gallagher last night in Manchester and they played this just before he came on stage. It had the whole arena singing along, and Mani was in the audience....bet he felt mega!
mitch3996 II i was there too best night ever.
Jealous... Must have been an epic moment!
Eugene Ax ye it was class. It was only after that i learned Mani was at the gig, and i thought it must have been beyond epic for him to hear us all singing it.....
Did similar at 02, then My Generation, place went off🇬🇧
Liam wishes he was half as cool as Ian Brown. Im not knocking Liam, but Ian is still making better choons and wears better clothes too🤣😂 First world problems indeed Liam mate!!! Nice one from a proper Manc!!
This song is one of the epic musical achievements of the 20th century. It's "The Who" - like in it's different movements. I will continue to enjoy this until I die.
Mee too lol I'm learning this on bass rn
@@cheesiebwai69 Magner Carter replied: "Late 80s I saw some graffiti sprayed on a wall in the old Hulme crescents. Three words..The Stone Roses. I checked them out. They were alright." i say: enjoyed by many. and it probably would have sufficed to see it, the stone roses, play - when it was feasible as opposed to a phenomenon. never saw stone roses. or happy mondays. i was stuck in punk land - nomeansno, even the fall had me come hither.. snuff.... jesus lizard. all the trite bands. i even saw killdozer - but that band refused to haunt manchester.... all the best dives were in manchester - boardwalk, banshee... beer keller.. etc etc.. no sweaty dives now. not even a hacienda. thugland put paid to that, though...
This songs sentiment is way more powerful..
The Who were great... in their lane..
These guys weren't part of the sycophantic reality back then. I'm oldie and I know talent!
This song!!😂
@@JJONNYREPPand now you're here!!!! Happy days. Welcome ❤
@@JJONNYREPPI hear all that!! We gotta get older though... let the youngers residents redefine. It's all good... believe me Jonny
The Roses were a movement. Not just a band.
💯👌🏻
my girlfriend at the time introduced me to the stone roses in 1989 this is the one and ressurection are up there with the beatles best songs
I saw them do this in Budapest (among other places ) in 2012 and I swear, they left the stratosphere during the play out of this song. I've been to hundreds of gigs and seen the Roses a lot of times but I've never felt anything like I did that night in Hungary. Those boys can play man.
Every single second of the 8 minutes is just pure gold
Blend of top musicians and cool as fuck
Literally fed people this music - fed us energy. we need it now more than ever...
The wig out is goose bumps stuff the rhythm of Mani and Reni and the peerless guitar of Squire this tune is basically immortal🍋🍋
this song it's like a anthem
Yes it is, & it is a genius magnificent masterpiece.
Cheetham Hill/Manchester behind the shops the roses used to practice on the steps before they made the big time. And what an achievement they made, definitely one of the greatest bands to come out of Manchester in my opinion.
Well I am a 56 year old spinster and have only just discovered The Stone Roses. A fab breakup song, and then I can have a boogie round the house when the second part kicks in. As like Cream, they weren't around for long but made a huge impact on music forever. 😊
It's been a while since I last heard this. You forget how good it is. Damn.
One the greatest outros....just don't want it to stop.
IAN BROWN one amazing frontman
JOHN SQUIRE
simply a genius
MANI koolest bloke ever
REMI The most passionate drummer since Bonham.
Yet just 4 blokes from Manchester
It won't ever happen again
A perfect description of a stellar band
Bes band ever, a Yorkshire lad unbelievable what the roses so many classics on the debut album.
Mani's basslines are very underrated he has some iconic intros
Erm. Reni.
Mini Grande this song saved my life
the sound of Manchester, pure and simple.
It was recorded in London. The engineer is a Londoner who cut his teeth at Abbey Wood studios.
Just discovered this album tonight and it's one of the best I've ever heard! I'm from the US and I wish they got played more here when this came out instead of just Love Spreads cuz we all wanted more. Maybe just bad timing.
Glad you're enjoying the Legendary Roses & the enigmatic frontman Ian Brown, regards from Northern England.✌️
Sadly the Roses, due to legal nonsense with record labels didn’t get that most important 2nd Record-out, Oasis popped up in the meantime!! Say no more.....! 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽
Liam took a little bit more than his Swagger from Ian Brown!! Roses the original and best!!!
@@philipnoblethe3rd695 iknr
I was introduced to Stone Roses just a few years ago by a friend in Poole, England, & was shocked that I could have missed them when they were @ their peak. They sold out Madison Square Garden, I don't know how it was possible for me not to have heard their music earlier. I'm also from the United States. Obviously, they didn't get adequate promotion here.
First heard this hand at 9, I'm 44 and still loving this sound!
Reminds me of my Angel, Andrew. Happy birthday my darling man xxxx❤

Love the instrumental stuff starting around the 4 min mark. All time great stuff. I have loved this band since I was a lad growing up in Colorado, I just dig their sound
I can’t think of any other song I have listened to as much as this freaking masterpiece. It lives in its own hall of fame.
If this isn't on your playlist, then it's not worth listening to!....
Fools Gold!
This album changed how I understood the world and the fabric it's made up of. I was in high school in 1991. It's made clear the possibility of all and the wonder of many dimensions. The Roses were something other than most. 👊🏻
Love to hear this. Same here my brother
Timeless band relevant in any era
I’m ready for this revival now
Massively underrated when it comes to British bands! Seriously one of the best albums of all time, even though you know what era it’s from it still sounds so fresh and innovative, a lot of artist should make a note and take more risks with thier music, cuz this is what happens… genius!!!!
Totally agree. . Playing it right now on blast
Nope not underrated to those who know. Who's rated these days? Nobody holds a candle.
I just love this track. It's a masterpiece.
Groundbreaking Sound of Madchester:
Old but still sounds so fresh and alive❣️
In my top 10 albums a timeless mantelpice, unbeatable.
Absolutely Amazing!
Just sent the link to my daughter, so many awesome comments, a throwback to those infinite days of love, light, life and liberty 🗽❤😊
@3:30 is still one of the best pieces of music I have ever enjoyed in my 40 odd years alive. Personally speaking. I love all the song, not knocking the lyrics, I listen to the song many times a year and play it in the jukebox in my head often. Thank you.
The best band to ever come out of Manchester. Hard to believe this album is almost 30 years old! It still sounds as if it was made yesterday. This is the best Roses track by a mile. That guitar solo 😍 🌹❤️
transcendingwithdlc I Wanna Be Adored isn't too far behind.
Oasis is far better...
@@jhonnyboylco7774 in 95 I'd have agreed with you, now looking back I'd deff say 1st.. Stone Roses 2nd.. Oasis
The smiths as well joy divisions are the best manchester bands
Oasis for me but a very close 2nd
Now, I maybe into rock and metal, but this is absolute perfection. What a tune.
2:25 Ian’s Vocals Here! Just superb!
How good were these guys ...miss those days man.
💯💯💯‼️
Imagine the 4 of them during this ...keep it going lads ...its why i but them up with beatles.
every normal song would end at 3:40 ....and some folks would say that it begins right there!
agreed, when that rumbling bass kicks in it's such a trip, sounds like a factory or some shit idk
And it still hasn't finished when it fades out at 8:12. Wish it could carry on.
top comment just fit
That’s almost doing a disservice to the amazing lyrics
its ressurected
the remastering makes such a huge difference, it's a bit unbelievable (especially considering the amount of lacklustre remastering jobs that have been done). the difference is appreciable to the point where it's actually a different experience.
To do a bad remaster of this album would be like painting a mustache to the Mona Lisa.
@@misterfroz actually that is a real painting from Marchel Duchamp.
The CD release from the '90s sounds terrible for the most part. Some of the trippier songs sound cool, but the majority don't have the clarity and impact needed. I would still like to hear the album get a full remix/remaster from one of the new audiophile types, though.
Makes the bass much deeper hardon stuff
I am 23 years old, and I have just been exploring the stone roses album, and this song is on repeat in my list, and I will continue to play it for the rest of my life,, so fvcing addicted with this lemon
In 2024, there will still be people listening to this music
That intro never fails to give me goosebumps 😎🇬🇧
I remember commuting between London and Brighton listening to this amazing track. Has alot of happy memories. Thank you The Stone Roses.
it is the best independant-album from the 90ies. I have heard it all. Bit this stands out
Yeh! Brighton Rocks!!
Possibly their best song , timeless and the album for me is right up there and they never really got close to it again
A very talented band. Great lyrics.
Less than 100K views, what the hell is wrong with people today? Unbelievable song, a timeless classic.
Péter Gábor Sasvári this isnt the only upload of it mate
it has 26 million on Spotify ;)
It’s a word of mouth thing. I’m 58 and just happened to come across a 4 second snippet in a video “Down down, you bring me down” and once I found the song and group I was hooked.
I think this is the sort of song people have on CD, or at least Spotify if they're younger. If it makes it better TH-cam views are misleading. I mean look at how many views Gangnam style has. Or Rick Astley. What troubles me is the 200+ people who took time out of their day to thumbs down this song =/ What went wrong in their lives?
Loved this band from a long time ago and still sound amazing!
30 years and still fresh
Agree
Reni's drumming oh my God
best instrumental ever
Also 68 got into these when they recorded the albums in my hometown and drank with them .many times over 5 years my daughters best mate married mani.

How funky . My best track in the world man . 49yrs young . Cmon
On full blast in the car , on your own is such a great place
I am 54 and i have only just heard this today for the first time 😂
Pivotal moment in music history... To the first 3 minutes of gritty pop to that epic instrumental towards the end with ghostly whirring effects and guitars it simply makes the mind boggle. Probably the greatest British band of all time ✌️

@@SuperBartles Or maybe you listen to genesis and Yes
@@ajaxt9333 I listen to all those. Genesis, Yes, and The Stone Roses are all great
@@mustainefan genesis and yes we're prog rock, I know they were trying different things to escape the hippy movement but the stone roses were more pivotal and groundbreaking because they made indie/rock more acceptable for every music lover and not just a selective audience.
@@ajaxt9333 The Beatles and the Rolling Stones were also British bands. You claim the Stones Roses were more pivotal and groundbreaking than both of them? Even their biggest, most biased fan wouldn't claim that.

Reminds me of me young days best ever
The Roses are f**king genius’! The Lyrics, The F’N DRUMMING! Everything about them just reeks genius! Long Live The Roses!
