I‘ve been flying fpv for 2 years now and want to get a dji drone. I think the mini 4 pro is an incredible choice for a professional beginner drone
Think in the Mavic 3 Classic, big sensor, Hasselblad camera............
I use an Air 2S for making videos of wildlife, but the noise has caused a lot of problems with getting close. The zoom on the 2S isn’t that great in my opinion for clear shots. Which one of these would be better for what I do? The Mini 4 Pro or the Air 3?
Just purchased my first drone ever!!!! M4P Fly More Plus with RC2....I love it. Don't know why I was so concerned about flying, its simple once you now what the joy stick controllers do. Duh!! But hey I'm a newbie.

I see the sensors are the same on the two drones, but in the side by side examples you showed, I noticed that the Air 3 looks a bit sharper in my opinion. The footage from the Mini 4 Pro seemed a bit blurry and less detailed. Is this because of TH-cam-compression or do you notice it in your unedited files?
About the 70mm I like the new look. The only thing that makes it seem a bit «un-cinematic» in my eyes, is that everything is in focus. I would like some more depth of field when you have the oportunity to use a 70mm.

Air 3 for me. The 70mm lens and better speed and weight in wind conditions make it an easy choice. If you want to do any semi professional or even professional work, the 70mm lens with the stacked sensor is a game changer. DON'T fall for the sensor being "smaller" than the Air2S. I own both and the 2S is now just backup. Both the Air3 and the Mini4 are great drones, but the Air3 has more versatility and can be used in more scenarios.
didnt think i was going to use telephoto that much.. but i was set to get the air 3. turns out, i use it all the time and its amazing.
For me, I’m going with the Air 3. I’m in the US, so the 250 gram weight isn’t important to me. Great video, and thanks sharing Mike.
As someone who already has the mini 3pro I was initially considering upgrading to the 4 pro. However the Air3 won out as I now have two platforms that have different strengths. The 70mm camera is not only great for the new shots it opens up but it gives you the ability to get shots at a much greater distance which both offsets the higher noise and safety considerations which may be present if using a 24mm lens which requires the drone to be much closer to the subject.
I had the same thoughts but it is very helpful to hear it from someone who owns both drones. I am in the decision process for buying my first drone. Thank you for sharing your insights.

Having the mini 3 pro I think the Air 3 is an one way option for upgrading in my case…!!!
can we put 3rd party mapping software on the new controllers. I wasnt able to be done on the Smart Controller and Mavic 2 pro which is still the system I'm running. Considering something new maybe. A regular phone controller can run the apps, but I'd have to get one of those controllersa and I'm gonna also have to spend a couple hundred to get the M2pro Remote ID compliant as well.
Im rocking with mini 3 pro and going to get my Air 3 today. Main reasons for upgrade was O4 system, waypoints, 70mm, flying time, log M. ..and many more reasons.

The best comparison I've come across so far
Well i was INITIALLY leaning towards the mini 4 pro. Currently i own the air 2. I also did own the air 1 which i really miss a lot due to its size. i would literally have the drone in one pocket and the controller in the other and always fly it daily. After reviewing my options the 70mm is a total game changer for me at least since i fish and manage a fishing youtube channel it only makes so much more sense every time i think about it. If i go the mini 4 pro it's kind of a down grade and the only real upgrades would be better battery life, vertical shooting and last but most importantly 360 active track. Where as if i went the air 3 i would have a second lens that would almost always be used in every one of my episodes. As i don't just use it for b-roll i could actually have the 70mm focus on me while fishing. I know dji will push active track 360 on the air 3 it's just a matter of time. Dji wants the mini 4 pro to have its moment. Also the stability is another clear winner for me. Plus i can always just fly my gf's mini 3 if i want to fly a smaller drone.
I live in the Chicago suburbs and Chicago is the Windy City for a reason. My first drone was a Mini 2 which I still have and love. The problem is that I can’t fly every day I want to with my Mini because of our frequent high winds. I chose the Air 3 for my upgrade primarily because it’s heavier and can withstand much higher winds than my Mini. The larger batteries and the second camera are just a bonus too.
I have come from flying drones for the sake of flying and building them, to beginning to do photography with them. I liked the look of the Mavic 3 series, especially the pro, of course... but the cost was very high, I couldn't justify spending that much on one drone. The obvious answer was not to buy ONE drone (haha)... I was tossing up between the Air 3 and the Mini 4 pro... the Air 3 won... then the Mini 4 pro won... then the Air 3 won again (and so did the Mini 4 pro) so I did the only thing I could possibly do... I bought both! When people ask which is my favorite, I say the one by DJI is my favorite. I am a beginner (in drone photography)... my advice to someone wanting to get into the hobby, either will be perfect, whichever you get you will be happy with... whichever yo get, you will wish you got the other... so, do what I did, buy one then save up for the other as well! Another great review from you , I agree with the to 100%, I got the Air3 RC2 fly more combo a little expensive , but worth it I also added ND filters and 100w charger almost $200 extra , in total US $1500 here in Thailand . Nice comparison. Very useful explanation of the tradeoff points between the two drones.
In my case the Mini 4 Pro matched my needs better. I do a lot of close in flying in wooded areas and parks, etc. so the M4P's smaller size and omni-directional obstacle avoidance make it a far better choice for me. But I do envy the 70 mm lens on the Air 3.
Air 3 has the same apas and obstacle sense right? I can’t decide which one to go for
@@mazalex2556 yes, same transmission system (occusync 4), APAS and obstacle sensing, though I've seen some people report that the 4 Pro might be just a little better at avoiding stuff, maybe because it's smaller. Sorry if the way I worded my comment made it seem like the M4P and Air 3 have different APAS systems. It's really more the difference in size that makes the M4P more suitable for me.

Hey Mike - I have both of these incredible drones, and Mavic 3 Pro as well. I feel very blessed to be able to experience them. For me, I want to see if DJI will port Active Track 360 to Air and possibly the Flagship. It's really powerful, but I need extra blood pressure medication using it, especially with FAST CAMERA MOTION enabled! We have omnidirectional sensors, and care refresh, but it is really dynamic. Unfortunately, it's not something we can choose, but DJI's call. "May you live in exciting times" is exactly what's happening!

I upgraded from the mini 3 to the air because of the telephoto lens. It has not let me down.

Both support the new DJI RC2 but I'm not sure if it connects to two drones.

If you’re working professionally with the drone get the Air3, the extra camera and the better wind resistance + battery life will be worth it!

There's literally not anyway they could put it on without it being over 249 grams that's why you buy the little drone for portability by the archery if you want something big and professional
Even a simple 50 equivalent would be something special on the little drones.
Great video, I have a Mavic Air 2 that I am looking to replace very soon. I'm impressed with the Mini 4 Pro but I am slightly concerned about taking video footage on the beach that has high winds. Is the Air 3 a better option or do you think the Mini 4 Pro can handle this?
Hi Mike, seeking your professional advise. I'm in the Kickstart phase of my drone aerial business. I am a seasoned pilot but want to take my hobby to work for me. I picked up a Mini 4 but was on the fence with the air 3. I still have the ability to return it need be, but wanted your take.
1. Short-term goal: (6months -1yr) goal is to pick up a few real-estate customers and some general gigs ( fiends, landscaping shots, etc...)
2. Long-term goal:(2-5yrs) is the provide land owners aerial surveillance of their property and also provide service to the insurance adjuster business base.
With that being said, what would you recommend to support both short-term/long-term goal?
Now, with all that being said, I do expect that eventually more tech will be required as my business develops and as I enter different fields.

Hey man! I think from what you're describing you should be fine to start off with the Mini4 Pro and later on, when things are going well you can upgrade to a bigger & better drone, but it's more than enough to start real estate with!

Battery of mini 4 has 2 variant, one has 34m of flight time and the other is 45min, I have the 45m flight time when I bought it. But take that in mind that the 45min battery will go over 250g.
Bought the air 3 seems like thr better deal wait 6 more months something new comes out and buy another back up air 3 keeping everything compatible

Hello, do you think it is advisable to buy the two drones for specific use? For example: I have two businesses, one that is dedicated to recording social events, whether children's parties or weddings, and the other business is Video Marketing for social networks and real estate. The thing I have in mind is that at social events I would use the mini 4 pro for places with little space and the Air 3 for outdoors or spacious places. Or do you think that with the Air 3 it is more than enough for me to deal with both businesses?
I think just the Air3 will be more than enough for your needs! It’s pretty compact too so you won’t have problems with tight spaces
If you're buying them for your business you should be able to expense them, right? Why not get both if you see ways they can both be useful for your business?

What's the max zoom on both ?
I think the digital zoom is 3x video and 2x still for both, which means you can digitally punch in 9x/6x with the Air 3.
Wow wait a second. I'm not so sure they have exactly the same sensor. They are the same sensor size and Mini 4 has updated software and hardware. Haven't found anything on the official channels though that the Mini 4 also has a Stacked CMOS sensor like the Air 3.
Yes this is the most important comment. Air3 has a stack sensor which is better than air 2s 1inch sensor. I think mini 4 pro’s 1/1.3” is not good as air3

TL/DR, both drones features are indentical except:
M4pro has 360 active track, Air3 does not.
M4Pro has true veritcal, Air3 does not.
Air3 has a 2nd 70mm tele, M4Pro does not.
Flight time 46min Air3, M4p 34min.
M4Pro is 249g with their normal battery.

I think I will buy the Air 3 because of his camera 70 mm, for wildlife it should be better even if the drone is more noisy.
The dual ISO in the Air 3 has values of 100 and 400, these values in the Mini 3 Pro or the Mini 4 Pro are 100 and 800. What advantages or disadvantages may there be if the difference between these values is greater or lesser? . Could this difference in dual ISO values between these two models be the reason why the images look a little brighter on the Air 3?
Is the ISO fixed?
The native ISO is dual at 100 and 800, but it is not fixed. On the Dji website, this model specifications, explain all the possibilities, depending on the camera options chosen.

There is no official confirmation from DJI that the sensor on the Mini 4 Pro is of the stacked variety.
Mini 4 pro for shure. 430€ less and the same image quality, with less weight, size and noise. Portability it's a game winner for the same image quality with less money. I stay with my mini 4 pro and wait to the Air 3s or Air 4 with a new sensor size like 1 inch, I don't no the name DJI going to gave to the new AIR.

It’s most likely just an updated software. They can fix that with an update on the Air 3. You also need to note the size difference so the Mini 4 Pro will be able to pass more obstacles due to its smaller size.
Two drones designed for two distinct market needs and DJI knows that.

These are 2 great drones and both still quite portablele (i wouldn't be putting any drone in my pocket). The 70mm camera, battery flying time and extra speed and wind resistance of the Air 3 justifies the additional cost for me.

Mini 4 the best
Flying Mini 4 Pro today it was obvious it will never be as stable in the air... even a light wind moves it around significantly. That said unless you are very close to your subject, the gimbal will counter any motion. Where it MATTERS is in positional accuracy. Notably, Mini 4 Pro has an improved vertical position accuracy.
All other positional accuracy is the same, except THIS ONE. Under "Hovering Accuracy" there is an improvement.
MINI 3 PRO:
±0.3 m (with vision positioning)
MINI 4vPRO:
±0.1 m (with vision positioning)

On paper, it's not much, but when returning to start point from Quickshots/Mastershots Mini 4 Pro is substantially more accurate than its predecessor.
My Mini4 Pro is in the mail. I bought it 2 days ago, after 2 weeks of researches and thinking. Even tho I watched countless videos of reviews and comparisons, your comment brought up something I've never heard before, thanks :)
I had the Inspire 1 years ago when it came out, it cost a fortune and it is a pile of garbage in comparison to even the cheapest drone from DJI today, yet it delivered quite good footage. So complaining about quality is whining on a high level.
You forgot to mention the altitude 120 restriction for the minis from January 1st 2024
In the US we have that limit all the time, get over it.

Mini 4 pro flies 35 mph top speed in sport mode the Airs 3s flies 46.9 mph top speed .. They both handle level 5 wind speed according to DJI even though this reviewer exceeded that with 55 mph wind gusts..
Mini 4 pro with extended battery on a calm day 5 to 9 mph winds I am getting about 41 min flight time but I havent pushed it to land on its own yet could be more.

Neither, thanks. Not into buying a new drone every time one comes out making DJI richer.. Mini 3Pro and Mavic 3 CLASSIC work just fine and produce great images. Happy flying

Why even compare these drones. Do a mini 3 pro vs a pro 4. I hate when people compare something that is in a different category.
It was still a helpful for beginners to understand what to choose for their first drone
If you want to be in the air for more than 22-25 minutes then the mini4 is a waste-of-time b/c the AIR3 is way better for the larger-battery solution.

@@Matanumithat little bit of extra battery life you'd get from the mini 2 doesnt even come close to making up for how many features you'd lose switching to it from a mini 3 pro.
@@Samuk899 It's the same as the Mini 4 except that you can fly faster in every direction. Plus it's a slightly larger drone so you will also have a farther VLOS distance.

mini 4 pro only have 360 active track and that is not important at all.
there are only early rumors about a "stacked" mini 4 pro sensor. in reality it´s not the same. air 3 picture still looks better, because it´s stacked.
