Place small gravel in the pan all the way to the top then fill it up.This allows the bees to land with out drowning , they can drink and rest , the beetles will be small enough to get trapped and drown. Enjoyed the Video. Keep it up !
Great idea!!
Looking forward to watch you harvest the honey!
Me too!!
Can’t wait to see the harvest comparison between the native and Russian bees Ryan 🍻🍻👍👍

Me too!! 🍯
Looking good Ryan love to keep seeing follow-up videos that was a huge Queen
She a big girl!
Here in Rhode Island we have a lot of people who use mosquito services that spray their chemicals in the bushes and I have to add a lot of flowers to keep the bees in the area for my veggies!
Great point!
I feel like I watched this on this other channel called Mr Digg. You should check him out if you haven’t yet. Great channel as well. Fellas name is Ryan just like yours. Lol. I watched anyway because I find bees so fascinating. I’m supposed to help my neighbor with his hive next week so learning all I can. Take care have a great week
lol, I’ll go check him out! 😂
Would diatomaceous earth sprinkled around the hives help with hive beetles? Just a thought.
I’ve read that it does but haven’t tried it
no ankle tape or smoke this time!!
Not this time. Was hoping they weren’t as mean as the Russians
You give them away to much space. They should be in a single. Once that starts to fill out, than you give them a second box. Once the nest is big enough and strong enough, and there's a good flow going, you can start to stack honey supers. To much space is a bad thing, it makes it harder for them to fight off intruder's like hive beetles
Another beekeeper told me that so I removed one high box today thanks for the comment!
