The whole performance should be declared as a Jazz World Cultural Heritage.
Definitely!!!
Couldn't agree more!!

@@user-ds2rf6do4d sry, I don't know what I was referring to... Maybe, because Roy Hargrove is not around any more
Big Facts!!!
One of my favorite parts is when Roy returns after Justin Robinson's killer solo with tear marks on his eyes
Literally makes me weep every time i watch this ....... the sheer joy and talent with which he plays really moves me. RIP brother
Roy and Montez too. It's so distressing I still can't really wrap my head around it.
Folk don’t even know they probably watching the best performance in human history. May God have him in his glory
godlike comping by Gerald Clayton😎
Around the world THis Piece ALONE from its Original has well OVER Millions upon MILLIONS of Likes, VIEWS, Subscribes, and COMMENTS, POSITIVE COMMENTS...why it was ever taken DOWN I will NEVER understand...Please Rest in Peace Mr. Hargrove...SIMPLY a MASTERPIECE!!!!
Because the company filmed this got greedy and wanted to sell more DVD’s of this night, it happened shortly after he passed. I can actually remember the year it originally dropped on TH-cam
Man, Justin Robinson just COOKS on this! Better than the studio recording for sure
he's so singular. absolutely, mind bending playing. he takes it down, makes it dreamy, and shrieks like a banshee just to slide back into the head like he didn't just disrupt the fabric of reality. he is everything good about jazz
@@seizethemeansproduction bro he's so underrated. he speaks on that horn
There’s a version where Roy gives an intro about the subway stop in Paris and says “It’s a fun place” before the song. This is one of my favorite jazz performances. From the flow of energy to the piano player hand-muting the intro. What an absolute jam.
that quote is on my bio on instagram, no one knows why, we do!
I had that performance but I lost it and I hadn't been able to find it again. Do you perhaps remember the name?
It was in the beginning of the original upload of this very video. Im not sure whe it was taken down and reulpoaded without that part and split into 2.
So good. Justin Robinson's solo blows me away every time.
Every solo here does. In fact, every note here hits me in my soul.
I’m so grateful I was able to go see and hear Roy play every time he came to Oakland
And how it felt to see it live, friend
Man when you think it cant get any better, all you have to do is play it again and wow, your stunned again and again. With millions of pieces of music its never good to say a piece of music is the best as its personal preference BUT this is the only exception to the rule 🙂 A privilege every time I hear it and watch the video. God bless each of those musicians.
Indeed, this is jazz art of the highest order (and I’ve been addicted to the music since discovering JATP in the mid-Fifties). Rapture-inducing, every hearing. It would have been bliss to be there on the night; but what a blessing the performance is there for posterity.
Thank you to whoever reposted this. It was missing for awhile. God damn I wish I could have been there for that performance!
T t tv é v vcs todos lct
man that tension on the end of sax solo,,,,in my opinion one of the best sax solos, pure eargasm
To repetitive lack creativity in my humble opinion

So beautiful, smooth, groovy. I'm exhausted just watching them! Imagine what it's like to put up such performance for 2 hours straight... So much energy, mind-blowing.
I can eat three cups of rice with watching that drummer play.
Those who were lucky enough to be in this space.
Every moment, every one of players is the genuin legend and will be passed down to posterity. This performance is one of the pinnacles the human has reached in the long musil history.
Again, Big Thank You for bringing this MASTERPIECE back online !!
My go to piece whenever I feel down. It works every time. So good.
I have to admit, this 2 parts version makes me skip a heartbeat or two when RH solo is cut but thanks anyway for putting it back.

Had the good fortune to catch Roy & Co. at a number of NYC venues over the years. This signature tune became their closer.
R.I.P. Roy Hargrove... You Were Good !!!

Wow..my first time hearing of him....I'm a fan now...
Check out Candy Dulfer’s version. Will blow your mind but I like his better.
@@jamallareaux3646 I have listened to candy duffer's version. That was the 1st time I've ever heard the cut. Then I heard his Virgin and I also thought it was Better.
Good Fun Masterpiece
