Thank you for covering this story. I was friends with Kevin Ives' sister, Alicia. Unfortunately she passed away a few months after her Mother. These families have been through a living nightmare. The corruption runs so deep that it sounds made up. Unfortunately it's all true. Safe travels to you.God bless.
You are so right. I grew up there too, but wasn't living there at the time of this. The corruption between the "good ole boys" is deep and is unbelievable unless you lived there and knew they were murdered. I hope that they are all together in the afterlife and at peace in heaven now. 🙏❤

I’m a train driver and unfortunately have had two of such experiences. Both times there was not a lot of blood, and once, almost none. But it was bright red and the bodies had a distinct fresh look, not white. Both times I can say for SURE I would know if the boys flinched or not. I am so confident I would be able to tell if the victim was alive or already gone before hitting them in most cases. It breaks my heart hearing the train crew were doubted.

This is a hard story for me i friend of mine who was dying from cancer went to the tracks and laid down to die and as the train hit her the engineer heard her scream. She left a note saying she didn't want to make her family pay for all the bills. I siting here crying typing this . I miss her so much.💔💔💔

I wanted to become a train conductor when I was a teenager. When I tried applyin to the CN at 20 years old, I was told that I would never be hired anyway because I was a woman. Now I'm kind of glad that didn't work because every conductor will hit at least one person in their lifetime (often multiple) and it is always traumatizing 💔 I lived by a train track and my grandfather was a conductor. One night, some boys played "chicken" and one of them got hit on the foot by the engine. He fled and only told the next day (he has a broken foot). The engineers spent all night looking under the stopped train and the conductor was so scared he had hit someone.
My mama knew a kid growing up who ended up dying from a train game like this and it made me wise as a kid to never ever play near tracks IRL. I don't even like driving over the backroads train tracks
I knew a fellow from the UK whose brother committed suicide by putting his head on the track and waiting for the train. It not only tore up the family, but also the conductor who couldn't stop in time. 😞
@rosemaryh.4105 there have been a couple of young lads who have killed themselves by jumping in front of trains in the villages near me in NW England, they weren't announced immediately as suicides but the local journalists included a link to the Samaritans in their reports so I'm thinking they were. I feel terrible for the boys and their families but also the train operators. I think they have to take compulsory leave after a death on the railway, I imagine some of them can never go back to that type of work
My husband is a freight train engineer and I can confirm, most engineers will be part of an accident at least once in their lifetime. My husband's accident haunts him. The company purposefully didn't tell him the outcome (if the person lived or passed) but he was able to find the information out on his own.
I remember that episode vividly. At that time there were train tracks right behind my family's home. Little 8 year old me was terrified after that episode aired.
Thank you so much for posting Stephanie. And everything you do. I just left the abusive relationship I have been in and having strong women like you to look up to as I go through this process is one of the few things keeping me going. Much love, Godspeed, and happy new year 🤍
I’ve never heard of this case before, which makes this new video extra exciting. Thanks for posting, Stephanie! I hope you and your family had a wonderful holiday.
I have missed you so much Miss Stephanie and I know you don’t miss things. If you do it’s very rare. You are human that you are so very thorough and I really appreciate the way you tell the stories your empathy, your enthusiasm your heartache. It all comes across

Stephanie, it’s morning where I live. I was watching your West Memphis three deep dive from Crime Weekly for two days, than I saw this. It’s again Arkansas and same lack of investigation… When I was a kid, I loved reading Stephen King. But since I grew up in another country, I couldn't understand some things. In the book "It", for example, we see the older children bullying the children playing in the woods. In our country, older boys did not want to play with the little ones at most. Although it has changed a little now, it is very rare to experience this level of bullying. I was born and raised in Istanbul and I have never seen a gun in my life. The fact that children in America have such easy access to guns seemed like an exaggeration to me until I grew up. Also, it seems impossible for me that they can get permission to go out at night to hunt. In addition to Stephen King's incredible imagination, I also saw how inspired he was by real events in his books. Even though the book "It" was written before Memphis Three, it means that there is such a pattern and even the police evaluate the events according to this pattern. I hope after all these years the Arkansas police force has been fully retrained. And thanks for being my crochet buddy ☺️
The way Stephanie articulates cases is OOTW (out of this world) We appreciate you and everything that you do. I always tell my friend, if something ever happens to me, I would want Stephanie Harlowe to cover me 😊 with peace and love 💚
This case has always disturbed me I was around the same age and remembered seeing this on unsolved mysteries it always gave me nightmares. I hope they find resolution for the families and justice is served for every one involved. Prayers for the families. Thank you for covering this case.
Dan Harmon 03/09/1949 - 09/22/2023 Richard Garrett 08/30/1946 - 10/23/2018 Fahmy Malak 11/20/1932 - 08/21/2018 Stephen Shroyer (locomotive engineer) 06/20/1948 - 11/13/2020 James Steed, Jr. (SC Sheriff 1987) 02/02/1945 - 09/29/1996 Kevin Ives is my mother's 1st cousin. I think Jerry Tomlin passed in 2009 but I'm not 100% sure
I am from the area and I am so happy you are covering this case. Thank you!! I hate that Ms. Linda and Alicia passed away before they were able to see any justice could be served. There is still a lot of corruption in the state, county, and surrounding counties.
A Harlow video at 8 pm..I'm here for it! Although I just took my tiny dose of " special gummy " (I dislocated several things in my hand) so I may have to watch again tomorrow 🤣
Oh snap!! I didn’t expect a Deep Dive on a Saturday night. My weekend just got a whole lot better!!! Thx Harlowe 🤓 also, I love the pop up details on the screen 👌🏽
Omg, what a complicated but fascinating case. It’s new to me and I hope these parents got the answers they deserved! It feels like from the very beginning the local police were trying to keep something covered up - their resistance makes no sense.
My home state!! This town is only 2 hours from my hometown. I was around 5 when this happened and it was talked about for years even in our town. I CANNOT wait to hear all the extra details you are going to fill us in on.
@@hawple lol I'm from the state and lived there half my life. I know how to pronounce the things from said state. Just because there's a lot of corruption there, just like there also is everywhere else, doesn't mean all of us from there are as gross or ignorant as the ones in these stories. Curb your judgement, Karen.
I went to school with Kevin and Don and we were all in the same grade. I knew them both. It was so shocking and none of us believed the story. They were good boys and well liked. We all knew something else was going on. I’m sure you will cover my opinion, but if you do, you’ll be going down a large, dark rabbit hole.
I am happy to see that you are covering this case. You are by far the best in your field. ❤ These poor boys saw something they shouldn't have seen and lost their lives. I doubt that justice will ever be served in this case. 😢
Thank You so Much Stephanie and I applaud you for saying what you said about the act of hunting, and not just pass by it and not acknowledging what a cruel act it specially that kind of hunting, Respect! this is just another reason why I admire you, you have a voice with an impact that is heard and thank you for using it! And don't worry about the length of the video, the longer the better, you are as always so engaging and thorough.
This is a common case talked about in Arkansas but even though I've heard it my whole life, you have filled me in and made it easier to fully understand it.
This is infuriating. As a mother and a grandmother, if these were my babies, or grandbabies, heads would have rolled. So unfair to these parents. And my heart breaks for the conductors. Lifelong nightmares there. My uncle is a conductor, so I understand that train ain't stoppin' quick. No fault of theirs. Especially with the fact these poor kids were already gone. Sad as all hell. Can't wait for part two. Stephanie, you're the best at what you do!
I’ve been wanting this case to be solved ever since I first saw it on Unsolved Mysteries back in the 90’s…it’s such a tragic story, and the seemingly countless mistakes and flat out corruption involved is disturbing 😮 Thank You for giving it the Harlowe deep dive it deserves ! I hope you and your babies had a wonderful Christmas 🎅🎄
Glad this is on your solo channel so that we can call out corrupt cops without anyone making excuses for their behavior because this case has so many corrupt cops, politicians, and the shadiest people imaginable that all need to be named and shamed.
I currently live and grew up in Arkansas, even though Bryant is about an hour or so from where I am I cannot tell you how many times I have brought these boys case up and not a single person has heard of it. Thank you for continuing to cover the cases of those we should not forget about.
This case is most the blantant example of incompetence and corruption i ever obsevered...and i have a couple my own stories that come close. Stephanie i admired your composer while narrating. These atrocious actions need to be exposed and no one can do it better than you. If this was a fictional book or movie i think the absurdity would drive people way. And then trying to scapegoat pot? Lowest blow. Truth doesn't matter when corruption and greed prevail. Thanks for all you do Stephanie. Lvya much
I think I’ve requested this case a few times. I live about 2 minutes from the tracks and the area it happened. There’s a memorial bench in the park with the boys’ names on it. I’ve heard all of the theories, but I’ve always been so curious about the details.
I know I've heard this story recapped in the past but as usual you're already giving way more detail. I saved parts 1 and 2 until 3 came out so I could listen consecutively. Wishing you a happy new year!
Haven't heard any of this yet and imma go ahead and comment and like. I read mara leveritt's book 10 years ago and I haven't stopped thinking about it since. Thanks @stephanie!
I grew up near here and haven't thought about this in a few years. I recognize all of the names you have mentioned and more that you haven't yet. Such a heartbreaking case for these families and to know the ones who did this got away with murder. Thank You, Stephanie for covering this story. I am looking so forward to Part 2. You are great!
Cops who say gruesome scenarios like this look accidental are the same people as they were when they were seven years old… being malicious to siblings/friends/neighbors then claiming it was an “accident” when someone tried to hold them accountable for their terrible behavior. Funny how some adults never actually grow up.
So glad you posted another set of videos! The absolute best way to roll in the new year is hearing true crime covered by Stephanie Harlowe, the BEST in the game 👍👌
I have seen this case covered by many ppl over the years, but I know I always learn something new about a case when you cover it. Thanks so much for this. I hope these boys actually get justice one day.
As always, a thorough and informative deep dive. Thanks for spotlighting this case, Stephanie. Also, I just want to wish you and the kids a brighter and happier year ahead ✨️ ❤
Fantastic episode! This is just the first part of the case and I'm fully invested. The disrespect given to the families of the boys is disgusting. Love when we start out strong on a deep dive. Thank you Stephanie. Best wishes to you and the kids ♡♡♡
I appreciate all the details. Several years ago when I first started following all the YT crime investigations I saw someone telling this story. You are going much deeper.
Thank you thank you for doing this story. I'm sure I've messaged you (and a load of other creators) a ton of times asking to cover this. It's a story close to my heart (I don't know any of the victims, I'm in U.K. but when I heard it my heart just broke for the families, the level of corruption is astounding and it the cover up goes on today) I shout it whenever the opportunity takes. It needs highlighting, answers need to be given. Linda Ives passed away after devoting her entire life trying to find out what happened to her son. She never found out. I hope Clinton's involvement is highlighted, he is pretty much the only one alive, Dan Harmon died getting away with murder

My husband is a freight train engineer and I can confirm, most engineers will be part of an accident at least once in their lifetime. My husband's accident haunts him. The company purposefully didn't tell him the outcome (if the person lived or passed) but he was able to find the information out on his own.
My ex actually laid down on railroad tracks and tried this, but the train was rescheduled and never came and he gave up lol.
I remember this one from Unsolved Mysteries. Those two poor boys...
I remember that episode vividly. At that time there were train tracks right behind my family's home. Little 8 year old me was terrified after that episode aired.

You knew I was just scrolling your old videos trying to decide what to rewatch. 😊
Thank you so much for posting Stephanie. And everything you do. I just left the abusive relationship I have been in and having strong women like you to look up to as I go through this process is one of the few things keeping me going. Much love, Godspeed, and happy new year 🤍

@ no one mentioned idols, but thanks for your contribution . Better luck next time.
Congratulations on leaving that relationship. I hope you are staying safe and well!

@@indigo-twin8459 thank you Indigo. You as well, it’s a jungle out there. 🤍
Shady,shadier,shadyest.
@@finalflowerchildAw, someone is butthurt
Yesss!! I was sitting here with a mind splitting headache wanting something to watch to get my mind off it and Stephanie uploads!!! Thank you for everything you do Stephanie and hope you and your family had the best Christmas and hope you have a happy New Year!
Stephanie, it’s morning where I live. I was watching your West Memphis three deep dive from Crime Weekly for two days, than I saw this. It’s again Arkansas and same lack of investigation…
When I was a kid, I loved reading Stephen King.
In reading the comments, I didn't realize there were so many of us Arkansans who are Stephanie fans! Hey y'all!
The way Stephanie articulates cases is OOTW (out of this world)
We appreciate you and everything that you do. I always tell my friend, if something ever happens to me, I would want Stephanie Harlowe to cover me 😊 with peace and love 💚
Her articulation is top-notch. As someone who struggles to find the right word sometimes, I strive for this level of communication!
This case has always disturbed me I was around the same age and remembered seeing this on unsolved mysteries it always gave me nightmares. I hope they find resolution for the families and justice is served for every one involved. Prayers for the families. Thank you for covering this case.

Thank you stephanie! Hope you are well!
What a blessing, thank you Stephanie so happy to see you again. Hope you and your loved ones had a good Christmas ❤️
Cover up goes on today. Some of the officers that were in the original cover up have sons who have carried the cover up on.
Just shaking my head at this entire event. Looking forward to the next episode.
My home state!! This town is only 2 hours from my hometown. I was around 5 when this happened and it was talked about for years even in our town. I CANNOT wait to hear all the extra details you are going to fill us in on.
Please don’t try to help pronounce or announce anything. Whatever it is, you guys are doing in that state is wrong.
Glad you’re finally covering this. It’s been such a big part of my life.
And I hope you and your babies had a peaceful beautiful Christmas. 🎄 you definitely deserve that.
These poor boys saw something they shouldn't have seen and lost their lives. I doubt that justice will ever be served in this case. 😢
Thank you for covering this! This is the case I bring up whenever someone asks me for an example of a real conspiracy theory
It's WILD to me that there's still people out there who don't think "conspiracies" ever happen
The pure shot of joy that came over me when I saw this upload was explosive 🧨
Thank You so Much Stephanie and I applaud you for saying what you said about the act of hunting, and not just pass by it and not acknowledging what a cruel act it specially that kind of hunting, Respect! this is just another reason why I admire you, you have a voice with an impact that is heard and thank you for using it! And don't worry about the length of the video, the longer the better, you are as always so engaging and thorough.
I agree! It's important to address the difficult stuff
My husband will be mad I started this without him.. womp womp 😂
Shhhh-- our little secret 🤭
😂😂😂 my daughter says that to me
That's nice, I wish my partner was into true crime.
@ it took some convincing, but then he also got hooked on Stephanie. This was just this year, so luckily for him he had years of content to consume 😂
@LucyWright-hc9fl thats all I hear from my son. 😂
I grew up in Bryant, AR. Still don’t know much about this case but always heard about it! So glad you’re covering it!
This is a common case talked about in Arkansas but even though I've heard it my whole life, you have filled me in and made it easier to fully understand it.
I’m loving the studio redo !!!
Amen!
Good, I love Derek but I agree🎉. Sorry guys no offense I love you both.
!!!
It’s always nice to have an echo chamber.
Yes! I like Derrick but it drives me nuts how he always bends over backwards to make excuses for corrupt cops
Omg stephanie I was endlessly scrolling looking for so thing until this popped up! I missed you 😢😭
I've researched this story, deeply! I'm so excited for your dive into it!
I'm glad you're here!
@@StephanieHarlowe I'm right here!
Perfect timing! Happy Holidays Stephanie!!
Thank you, Stephanie ❤
I love your story telling. Justice for the victims
So glad to see your .. excited for this case .. do you magic Steph.. hope your Christmas was wonderful
I currently live and grew up in Arkansas, even though Bryant is about an hour or so from where I am I cannot tell you how many times I have brought these boys case up and not a single person has heard of it. Thank you for continuing to cover the cases of those we should not forget about.
Yay a new vid before the new year 🎉
Such a gift
This case is most the blantant example of incompetence and corruption i ever obsevered...and i have a couple my own stories that come close. Stephanie i admired your composer while narrating. These atrocious actions need to be exposed and no one can do it better than you. If this was a fictional book or movie i think the absurdity would drive people way. And then trying to scapegoat pot? Lowest blow. Truth doesn't matter when corruption and greed prevail. Thanks for all you do Stephanie. Lvya much
I can’t wait for the next episode!
I think I’ve requested this case a few times. I live about 2 minutes from the tracks and the area it happened. There’s a memorial bench in the park with the boys’ names on it. I’ve heard all of the theories, but I’ve always been so curious about the details.
YESSSS THANK YOU FOR COVERING THIS!!!!!
I know I've heard this story recapped in the past but as usual you're already giving way more detail. I saved parts 1 and 2 until 3 came out so I could listen consecutively. Wishing you a happy new year!
i needed this after the awful night ive had, you’re currently part of my nervous system reset
What a surprise to see this video pop up. Getting ready for bed and looking forward to hearing about this case.
❤️❤️❤️
Haven't heard any of this yet and imma go ahead and comment and like. I read mara leveritt's book 10 years ago and I haven't stopped thinking about it since. Thanks @stephanie!
I grew up near here and haven't thought about this in a few years. I recognize all of the names you have mentioned and more that you haven't yet. Such a heartbreaking case for these families and to know the ones who did this got away with murder. Thank You, Stephanie for covering this story. I am looking so forward to Part 2. You are great!
You just made my Saturday night!!
I think what makes stephanie such a great storyteller is how genuine she is. I really, really enjoy listening to her!
I’m so excited you are covering this!!
Great case!! I’m so happy Stephane is covering it!!
I’ve never been this early to a video! I hope you and your family had a merry Christmas, Stephanie. My thoughts and prayers still go out to you! 🩷
"Stunned, but luckily, not speechless" 😂😂😂
Yassss!! Thank you Steph!! Love you
I have seen this case covered by many ppl over the years, but I know I always learn something new about a case when you cover it.
Spotlight hunting is giving the flashlight party at the end of requiem to a dream.
I can't believe the incompetence of those investigating this case.
It's corruption, not incompetence
When I see Stephanie post, all of the endorphins explode. 💚💚
❤️❤️❤️❤️
Yesssss ❤
I appreciate all the details. Several years ago when I first started following all the YT crime investigations I saw someone telling this story. You are going much deeper.
Thank you, Stephanie!
Happy Happy New Year! 🎆 😉✌🏼
Yes… the Clintons…I’m glad somebody mentioned them..
Mmm yes and the cl!Nt0ns… they have qu!te the body count…
