All these tips and videos really made me remake my twitch, gather my thoughts, change my ideas and how everything is set up. I just finished editing and touch of a pre made set up by GameCaster into my own style. I use a blue snowball mic, Its good but its very sensitive. Im in a room with no foam on the walls so there IS a echo but using the gain and such I dimmed it down. I just wish my keyboard wasnt so loud...its like green keys its a Razor keyboard TOP QUALITY but good lord the CLACK CLACK CLACK CLACK CLACK CLACK CLACK AGH. I do wanna do a Vtuber thing (so original) and the webcam, lighting, and microphone part has me searching. Other then that your videos are shaping me up quiet better then other videos on youtube. You are down to earth and keep it simple.
Good points as always! Especially about investment not just meaning money. I've got a cheap Neewer light too and it does a decent job, and aye, audio is soooo important!

I have that same interface lol I’ve been using it for guitar recording buuuuuuut I’ve been watching your vids and been thinking of taking the plunge to start streaming, it seems really fun and a nice creative outlet to be myself and make friends, build a community for other weirdos like me or give other people that sence of community and all the cliche bs😂 you’ve been building my confidence to at least TRY steaming, I can literally just jump in without dumping 100s or 1000s of dollars to start and you’ve said it so well and I just want to say thank you :)
Phew! Man, you were SPEAKING to me on the burnout side of the video! Is that something you'd consider diving more into at another time? I know a lot of people (myself included) struggle with burnout and coming back from it

I like your emphasis at the end on only invest what you can afford. That's a really important point to make in this video and you put the right amount of emphasis on that point. As a twitch viewer I do prefer a good audio over a camera on your face. That's because I'm not always actively watching and paying attention, but I'm always listening. However I can agree that, from a discoverability perspective, a camera with proper lighting is more likely to make me click. And since it's a small thumbnail I will not see the difference between super sharp and mediocre camera. My personal ranking for invest options 1 entertainment value (are you entertaining as a streamer? Entertaining does not mean be funny and energetic and hyperhyped - HELLO GAMERS!!!1! - It can be lots of different things) 2 audio 3 the rest, but since i'm making a ranking now anyway I'll continue 4 visuals and attractiveness of the stream 5 well lit camera 6 camera quality Where do you agree or disagree? Do you rank things differently?
I actually found a 20-30$ green screen kit on Amazon that came with the sheet, stand, AND the lights! The WHOLE shabang! Also, how does one actually get better at commentary say if they're a little more nervous or not very confident? could it be being camera shy might make it harder for one to talk naturally?

I'm more or less just starting out and only have 4 followers, but I'm enjoying it even though I don't get many views. I'm thinking of getting a capture card rather than streaming directly from my console for flexibility more than anything. I've seen some very cheap ones that seem like they're too good to be true (and likely are). What is the minimum you would expect to pay for a satisfactory capture card? Are there any you would recommend that are compatible with Linux?
