I like to ask questions that don't necessarily need an answer to the person directed to, but to all people in chat to answer. Even If I need to answer my own question to avoid awkward silences. I find it very useful to give chat an importance for their presence. Asking for help or what something is from chat is key. Never go full Dora the Explorer though.
Where is a good place to find the chat bot you mentioned or something similar? I would love a bot that chats with other users but googling twitch chat bots pretty much only results in "!command" bots.
I have a bunch of interesting questions set on timers that I answer then ask chat. Like what is your favorite outfit, vacation spot, desert, etc. I also throw in ones about the games I stream like what is your favorite character, class, weapon, etc. I also randomly do polls asking random conversation starting questions with interesting topics/themes. Frequent visitors/VIPs get personalized commands to introduce their self. Artists/streamers get special shout out commands to promote their channel. (Our community helps promote people to reach their goals.)
I had one viewer that completely changed The dynamic of my streams. I knew she was really good at keeping the conversation going, but I didn’t know that when she stopped going to my streams, everything would’ve changed. People don’t stop by and tell me that I seem like I’m going to become famous anymore. People don’t talk as much anymore. The morale is not as high. This person was just amazing how they would just show up and be themselves and just get everybody talking and feeling good. Wow! Sometimes it can just be one community member that changes everything
@@Sinfomatic Good to know! Because a lot of the time I ask people what did you do this weekend or how was your day and people don’t seem to want to talk about that. But it’s hard to find things to talk about because talking about music and tv shows is hard too. Ultimately I think I’m just kind of unrelatable. But you never know. People come and go. This can be throughout each stream or year to year and month to month.
Appreciating the video, TwoShoes! I struggle a lot with this subject in particular, because while you want people chatting so it doesn't feel like you're spouting off into the abyss, lurkers are the backbone of every stream and you never want people to feel obliged to talk. Great tips! Always trying to find out ways to get my chat more active and talk more. I usually have a lot of lurkers which im thankful for but I'm always looking for ways to get them to chat or even get new people in chatting as well.
The 'Chat Addons' portion is great. In a way, it can also give the people that don't "chat", something to do. For example, the few programs that allow channel point integration, I use those to control various stupid filters and sounds on my streams. They enjoy that a lot, laughing when I get "caught in the act" making a stupid face, or something like that. It's great. The bot integrations like StreamElements or Streamlabs for the gambling, the predictions, chat can interact with several things, as well as watch what's going on.

Oh yeah dude I hate when somebody is in the chat telling me everything to do in the game LOL. I have to start ignoring them and I do ask random questions to the chat to try and get things going. Because I do love having that game help. But when it becomes a two person conversation, it kind of shut everyone else out At the same time, I do I feel like people are getting annoyed that I keep asking random questions. I never really knew what that felt like until I jumped on a friends stream and she kept bringing up random topics and I felt like it was my responsibility to answer random questions to help out the streamer. Rather than actually feel engaged in real conversation that I wanted to be engaged in. In fact I really just wanted to play in the background and pop in every once in a while
I’m fine with backseat allowed,as the game is played as beginner but i dont like it if they start sharing their personal life problems giving sad vibes or talking about there favorite games which i dont like
Some very solid tips and I feel like you could still be who you are without being fake and still follow a lot of these principles and it really does matter because one viewer turns into 6 before you know it The snowball effect is real on twitch at some point but it's just having that consistent viewer based the whole entire time is how you shoot up
My issue was I called out someone that was just viewing my stream and not saying anything throughout the video and it was almost like every time I started one person would view it. I don’t know who it’d be because they wouldn’t say anything throughout it. I started to think that it was a computer that just had someone joint so I wouldn’t feel bad lol-
As someone who currently has a smaller viewership but a lot of chatters, I just try my best to have fun and entertain and it works! I usually talk to viewers like they're my friends and it seems to really compel them to keep coming back. It's a lot of fun honestly, feels like a party every time I stream. I always find it rather odd when I get comments from viewers talking about how I'm one of the only people they see trying to actively read chat and participate in what's going on... like is that not the point? To me that's a bit shocking that there are apparently people out there that don't make that same effort when they're so small. Even when I play games that require a lot of my concentration I prioritize chat.
I always talk the streamers ear off to start the conversation when im watching someones stream and that normally can get some others either talking to me and or the streamer. But when its my stream, I'll get asked how am I doing, so I do the hey hey not too bad thanks, how are you going/how was your stream etc and I get maybe one reply then nothing..sometimes nothing...but this video gave me a few ideas on what i can try and change and mix up.

I DO NOT HAVE a starting soon screen. I tried it a couple times and I do not recommend it at all! If people get the notification that you are alive, why would they want to show up to a blank screen? I would say a good way to have a talkative chat is to not have that. If you are live, be live. Give Them a show from the beginning and engage. The people that are there from the beginning that you were saying to think them, they are the ones that don’t watch the stream and they are the ones that leave in 15 minutes every time

Dude ! Been watching your videos past week. Legit been losing viewers and motivation. Implemented some of your tips ( biggest one, turned my viewer count off) and Literally my mood, motivation and streams have been sky rocketing 🚀 solid advice on the videos. Keep at it sir !!
I just started streaming like a couple days ago, I’m having trouble with just people joining my streams. Is it because they can’t find my streams or is it the game I’m playing or something??
Thanks for the video, really enjoying them, esp because to be honest your not massive, you are still going through this stuff yourself so it seems so much more relevant compared to so many giving advice from years gone by. Ive been a twitch viewer since the early days and anyone giving advice from even 2 years ago is just not as relevant anymore. So thanks for the videos! Ive followed you on twitch and just waiting for times to align so I can watch and thankyou properly live. Little question though, not sure i'd use it myself but was it spag bot for the deep learning bot thing as that sounds amazing. Any link to it, googles a bit lost for 'spag bot'
Exactly:) Thats what I am aiming for with these videos. I just like to tell people things that I find work for me as I realise them. I feel it makes it way more relatable and relevant to small streamers :) Also, spagbot was something custom made by a viewer so unfortunately I cant help with a link! Thanks for the kind words!
Hi do you know how to fix a problem that i have rn is that i can write a message but the chat cant see my message by any chance do u know how to fix it?
Thats what I am refering to:) If someone does say hi, welcoming them in properly will encourage them to continue to chat. A lot of new followers often just say hi, and a lot of them may not decide to keep talking unless they really feel welcomed:)
I don't know much about Python and programming. Could you make a video explaining how to install / program SpagBot? I really wanted to put it in my stream. Thank you so much, I loved you and your content!
I would love that but unfortunately it was made and is ran by a viewer and I have no idea about its programming! Im sure if you google something like Twitch chat learning bot, you may find something! We just named him Spagbot:). Also thank you for the kind words!
It's something that a viewer put together:) Basically a bot that learns from chat and makes sentences. In that section, I am more so referring to things like that, not precisely that itself. We named him SpagBot. I'm sure a bit of googling will help you find something similar I'm sure.
It's a custom build from one of the viewers in chat! I think the code is available online somewhere but I don't really know how it works. We call him spagbot but that's not the official name :)
Hi! I'm the viewer Dan mentioned. Its username is TheSpagBot. It's a Markov Chain generator that reads chat and every 5 minutes, it will select a random word its seen and try to start a sentence with it. You can also call it manually and give it a word to try and start with. At first it only repeats posts from chat in their entirety, but as it reads chat, it can put together really silly phrases.
How do you keep your chat chatting? I would love to know some techniques you guys use! Also, be sure to follow me on Twitch! www.twitch.tv/xtwoshoes
I always give them something to reply to! Ez pz

Dude ! Been watching your videos past week. Legit been losing viewers and motivation. Implemented some of your tips ( biggest one, turned my viewer count off) and Literally my mood, motivation and streams have been sky rocketing 🚀 solid advice on the videos. Keep at it sir !!
Yoooo! That is so cool. Congrats! Thank you for the kind words and best of luck going forward:D
@@xTwoShoes you got it boss ! Thank you 🙏🏻
Your vids really help, thank you man :D
Happy to help!
Whats the bot he was talking about at 10:15?
Custom made bot by a viewer!
9:14 lmao like the school register
I just started streaming like a couple days ago, I’m having trouble with just people joining my streams. Is it because they can’t find my streams or is it the game I’m playing or something??
Could be a mixture of things! Check out my What Games to Grow on Twitch video on the channel! Could be of some help!
@@xTwoShoes I will definitely check that out, thank you!!!
I try and talk to everyone that drops in but I think maybe they’ve left before I can say their name
Once you are trying your best with it that's all that matters:)
Hey! Thanks for the tips :D this is gold
Happy to help!
good stuff mate!! thank you for your help
No problem 👍
Definitely subbing after watching 2 vids.
Thank you!! Thats awesome!
I was streaming and then 5 people joined and I couldnt figure it out because my chat never went off and I never seen viewers go up
Your recommendation gave me more knowledge to grow 💚 thank you
You are most welcome:D Hope you see some growth for sure!
Great video mate!
What's the name of the bot? I tried looking it up and can't find it
super useful video man 😁 whats the name of that bot though? can't find "spagbot" anywhere 🤔
Thanks! It was a custom build by a viewer:)
Great advice as always ❤️
Thanks so much!
what i don't understand isn't how to get people that are there to talk, it's how to get people there
This 👆🏻
Hi do you know how to fix a problem that i have rn is that i can write a message but the chat cant see my message by any chance do u know how to fix it?
Most underrated youtuber, best channel I've watched, do you have a discord server? I will 100% join it
Thank you!!! Just head to my twitch chat and use !discord:)
do u have a link to the shout out spy bot that sounds like fun!
It was a custom build from a viewer:)
Late on this one but dude some amazing tips here
Thank you my dude!
What’s the chat bot you mentioned in the video
It was a custom build from a viewer!
Wow this is a lot to take in but I’ll def try and do most of ‘em thx
How do you welcome them in, if they don't say anything? The username won't show up unless they at least say hi
Thats what I am refering to:) If someone does say hi, welcoming them in properly will encourage them to continue to chat. A lot of new followers often just say hi, and a lot of them may not decide to keep talking unless they really feel welcomed:)
They might just reply to somebody else or give you a random game tip or say something random
what if my friends try to comment and they can't what do I do?
Sounds like a problem on Twitch's end
How do you even see usernames I never see where to see whose watching you etc
my channel isn't attracting viewers or chatting either ?
This guy’s awesome, let’s follow him! 🎉🎉🎉🎉
Thank you:D
@@xTwoShoes Which AI chatbot did you mention ? spagbot ? Spambot ? Spybot ?
I don't know much about Python and programming. Could you make a video explaining how to install / program SpagBot? I really wanted to put it in my stream. Thank you so much, I loved you and your content!
I would love that but unfortunately it was made and is ran by a viewer and I have no idea about its programming! Im sure if you google something like Twitch chat learning bot, you may find something! We just named him Spagbot:). Also thank you for the kind words!
I will definitely use this to try to gain viewership
nice video again : )
Thank you!
I don’t know how many empty streams I have left in me man
What bot where you talking about?
Was wondering that myself. Keep playing that section over to try and catch it.
@@The0wlchemist lol. I played it back like 4 times kekw
It's something that a viewer put together:) Basically a bot that learns from chat and makes sentences. In that section, I am more so referring to things like that, not precisely that itself. We named him SpagBot. I'm sure a bit of googling will help you find something similar I'm sure.
@@xTwoShoes ahhh. I need smarter people in my chat. 🤣
One of my viewers name is “comebutaaaaaaa” so every time I see them I scream comebuta and extend the a for like 5 seconds xD
😂
what is that bot called?
It was a custom build from a viewer!
what's the ai bot you use in your chat? i've had a good google around and i can't find anything like that :O
It's a custom build from one of the viewers in chat! I think the code is available online somewhere but I don't really know how it works. We call him spagbot but that's not the official name :)
@@xTwoShoes yeah i've just been googling 'twitch ai bot' and there doesn't really seem to be anything! thanks for the response
10:15 What was the twitch bot's name? It sounds interesting!
We named it Spagbot. Its a custom made thing from a viewer:)
How do i get spagbot?
this is a great video, one problem. How do I do this with zero veiwers?
Which AI chatbot did he mention ? spagbot ? Spambot ? Spybot ?
Now I'm curious about that chatbot that types out a random sentence every 10 minutes. 😂 Mind sharing? Haha
It's a custom build by a viewer:)
How do I get SpagBot?
It was something custom built by a viewer:)
@@xTwoShoes oh dang it i wish i could get it
