But I’m not going to lose all the rewards I can get for just 10 bucks just because they might change it in 2 months

Ok I work hard for money I don’t just play games I play games and have a job as well as going through middle school at 14 you can do it too. You just have to want to put the work in.
It won't make a difference because the whales will buy everything regardless.

Yup. This is the thing to me. I'd actually probably have been fine with spending the $10 one time and go back to being an otherwise F2P player if that's all it was. Because then if someone doesn't hit level 100 they still have to buy in again, so it keeps them actively playing, it keeps them actively a part of the player base.
That's the one thing I think the executives making these changes (and others in previous seasons) don't seem to understand. It seems like their MO has been to push out free players in favor of making more on whales, but if there's no free players for whales to play with they stop playing too. The top priority should be to keep free players happy to keep playing as much as possible so that the whales continue to see value in their spending.
Seems like the most realistic outcome here, hopefully.
ya i like this and if they still if they still want to split it into 2 parts just make it to where it is 1 pass but once you reach lv 50 you are locked tell the part2 of the pass is out its also just so the ptp players dont have the new characters before everyone else also keep it 10$ for 1 pass if it is 2 make the price 5$ so you still pay only 10$ ah and of courese you should still be able to use tokens but if is 2 passes just make the price like 450 for each one.
well i can work with this! this might work for me, but making us pay 20$ for "both" aka 1 golden pass split in 2 is bad but your idea would make me at least say yes couse i don't care i can't use tokens i care that i have to pay TWICE for one pass
The silence is over!! I definitely want to get myself hyped up for season 7 regardless of the outcome. I hope to still see people around when the season launches.
You will still see me around i just hope if they go through with it they at least give us an unlock pack for the characters in the golden pass but who knows how they will handle this season
Just the Golden pass is what i would like to stay the same 😭, but it is what it is.
TGH, if they backtracked and let us use tokens for golden pass as a bare minimum, I could stomach and deal with the rest of the changes.
It was definitely exciting to hear Speedstorm respond. I got pretty hyped myself, but Imma just wait to see what'll occur next.
I agree with the other comment that season 7 won't budge in all likelihood. If the game survives the current plan, then they will just continue to ignore complaints and change nothing. But if by the midseason point the number of players and microtransactions dip radically, then they'll start considering changes for season 8. GameLoft has no incentive to change anything until players speak with their wallets as right now, myself included, I plan to not pay but will we still play? Our words mean nothing to them, only our wallets and having enough active racers to sustain the whales so the top 10% isn't literally just the top 10 remaining racers out of 100.
Well that’s a better response than I saw coming. We’ll see what happens. It will take them time to make more changes I’m sure.
I think it would be better if Disney speedstorm call several customers and ask them about the updates and listen to customer feedback and decide whether they should make changes or not.
We should at least see what the new golden pass looks like. There is always the possibility it's nothing like the previous ones and absolutely filled with massive amounts of shards and other things for each part. Hense a very, very good value for spenders or maybe even enough guaranteed value it would be enticing for those that have previously been F2p, compared to rediculous token cost and junk drop rate gacha boxes. But, until we know and can see it, it's all speculation.
I will say I like how positive you are that the season is starting tomorrow. I hope you’re right and I hope we get confirmation today!
Gotta disagree. They would definitely get clowned by everyone for saying that they appreciate our feedback and that they'll provide an update soon, and then just forging ahead with the thing everyone was mad about. They're going to try some kind of show of good-faith. Whether it causes a delay or whether it will be good enough to keep myself and other free / non-whale players around, we'll see, but there will be some sort of relatively player-friendly announcement coming prior to or along with the Launch of S7.

Devs wont listen to feedback, they wanna milk the disney ip as much as possible, no matter how much it upsets people they will still make money from those already throwing their wallets at this game, This game died season 3, If only this game had a better business model...

I expect nothing. For ranked compensation of S5 we've been waiting and asking for for the entire season. I feel if they do anything then it will be implemented in S8 and let us "get used to" that new pass system in the meantime.
They stonewall the players.
I love how they're saying " oh hey we promise you a update will happen within the next few days" . Yeah if they change the golden pass it will definitely happen in the following season. Only because we have only a few days and it will take to long to fix shit... If they fix shit

I know they need to make money somehow with the game but there is good and bad ways.
If they to wanted to charge real money with the gold pass, I'm fine with that BUT the asking price of $10/$20 was way too much, I mean other f2p karting games like Mario Kart Tour or KartRider Drift asked just 5$ for the pass, way cheaper.
Not counting the fact that Mario Kart Tour had a trick to take advantage of the pass to the max and worth it for 4 tours and meanwhile with KartRider Drift the gold pass offered you also premium tokens to buy the gold pass again in the future seasons (if you kept it).

Honestly i don't think people would of complain if they gave us 2 options like if you didn't have enough tokens you could buy it directly if you didn't want to buy tokens /grind multiplayer to get tokens
