  • I looked up dozens of videos on the fuel pump because it went out and everyone was at least two hours long and you had to drop the tank and take out the driveshaft I figured out an easy way watch the video and find out

    Thanks, your hole location was spot on! I used a jigsaw to cut it out, no issue with sparks. Used tinnerman nuts to bolt the cutout back on...

    I'm about to do the same thing. However, my blazer is a 2005 - 2 door. The tank is located differently and even shaped differently. In a few days I'm going to a Wrecking Yard, where I can cut out the floor from another 2dr Blazer and locate the pump position. I might even buy the pump of the used one... We'll see... Anyway, Great little video. It's very helpful 🙂

    Thank you for sharing this. I had to replace the fuel pump in my 2002 Camaro last year and found a trap door video for it, just picked up a 2000 ZR2 S 10 Blazer today, so whenever it goes out, I have your video to get me through it. Thanks again!

    Thank you for the video! I wish you'd had provided some measurements and didn't lurch around so much, but was able to mark a location and the fuel pump was exactly where you said it was!!

    I took my blazer 2003 to the mechanic to replace a fuel pump this job took 3 hours to do. The hardest part is taking it down. Putting it back in was easy. Nice video

    Takes a special kind of person to make sparks over a gas tank.

    Kyle, im going to be doing the same process next week on my 00 Blazer LT 4dr. My question, Is it possible after you get that pump out to stick a siphon down and suck all the old fuel/sediments out of the tank?

      Yes you can , once you get all gas out let dry as much as possible and you can use shop vacum to suck out any debris:)

    I did the same with a Bravada. Good thing because Blazers etc. like to eat fuel pumps.

    Use aviation snaps! Do not use a grinder.

      Thanks I was thinking of using some sort of snips also, but how would I start my initial cut? Or make nice crisp lines.

    • @nedaCFilms
      @nedaCFilms ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Ghostacc956 drill a pilot hole with a universal / stepper bit, there’s about 3 or 4 inches from floorboard to top of gas tank, so you don’t need to worry about hitting the tank. Then some red or green “Midwest” brand aviation snips will cut right through floorboard with ease.

    Cutting metal creating sparks over a gas tank doesn't seem right. Even if you don't see sparks metal gets hot enough to light gas vapors so just drilling a hole to start a cut with something like tin snips is risky but slightly safer I guess.

      @@ALIENBACKGAMING pour fuel down the intake if it starts it's not getting fuel, or find port on fuel rail area purge it and cycle the key, purge it again if it didn't build pressure pumps not working, cycle key listen for the pump to turn on.

      Well I didn't do the gas pour yet but yesterday I cycled the key and heard the fuse,and pump engage with a light whining noise which sounded normal to me
