I could have never finished the motorcycle the way Kaplan America did. I’m honored that Ken Sr. appreciated the work I put into the restoration. I donated the bike so the funds could go to supporting the museum. So as Sr. likes to say….bid high and bid often!!!!
Lovely. I have just bought one in the UK in similar condition showing 1200 miles, its been stood in a museum for years, I pick it up next weekend. I had a black one brand new in February 1978, I cant wait to get out in the new one.
The tow yard down the street just gave me a 1981 suzuki 550 for Free. It has 9600 original miles. Just took carbs off to check out. No comparison to my kz 750s that turn 12 second quarter miles and so much better engineered.
I have one if the last of these built with anti dive front end, a one year only thing. A lovely handling bike and very comfortable for the taller rider. Good idea to move the reg/rec from under the seat, gets very hot in there.

She is a Beauty, even the rims are spotless.

Like that style of bike; middleweight, lower seat height, center stand, … 👍🏁
WOW.... Incredible attention to detail.
Beautiful. Looks brand new. One very stunning bike. I was 5 years old in 1978! Lol
I really like the tread on those tires. Just looking at them inspires confidence.
