If you wait long enough, Wheatley is like '*cough* Button', '*cough* Press the button *cough*'
Leaf Akemi on the way til that part you pressed tons of buttons and solved puzzles 100 times harder.... that does not convince me.
Leaf Akemi How the hell did you even get that far into the game?
Leaf Akemi Portal 2 is also my favorite game of all time. It's unique, perfect, and genius in every way. Nothing will ever surpass it.
Leaf Akemi That's alright, I only played it sometime during 2013 or maybe early 2014!
Leaf Akemi Nope. The part shouldn't end any time soon, so yay.
Was anyone else genuinely surprised at first when this wasn't the final part of the game?
Smiley Not me. my brother spoiled it for me.
Smiley
Yep.
Very Surprised.
+Smiley No, if it was the end of the game, then I would have been disappointed. I was expecting the game to be a lot longer so I was thinking "this cannot be it". As soon as Wheatly took control, I thought immediately he would become evil, it was obviously coming.
+Smiley Quite so. The first Portal wasn't exactly long, so I was kinda thrown for a loop. I had expected Portal 2 would be no different, then I remembered afterward that the entirety of Valve had been working on Portal 2, instead of just being made by about 15 people like how the first one was.
A bit but Not really, i had Heard that Portal 2 was longer, and was thinking to myself this isnt that Much longer
.. And the "Glados boss battle was too Easy" then Wheatly seems to be monologing he Is the new bad Guy
GLaDOS: Tries to kill Chell
Wheatley (designed to make *TERRIBLE* ideas): Tries to kill Chell
GLaDOS: 😐
Oh my god true
lolololol
Oh god. She was making a terrible decision XD
I mean it IS a bad idea to try to kill Chell because Chell will say “Challenge accepted” (with jumping of course), then proceeds to destroy the facility
@@u238productionsi wonder if chell can jump in morse code
"I honestly, truly didn't think you'd fall for that. In fact, I had a much more elaborate trap further ahead for when you got through this easy one. If I knew you'd let yourself get captured this easily, I would just have dangled a turkey leg on a rope from the ceiling."
Every time I hear her say that, I actually whisper: "then why didn't you?"
Well. It was nice catching up. Let's get to buisiness. I Hope you brought something stronger than a Portal Gun this time. Otherwise, Im afraid your going to be come the past president of the being alive club. Ha Ha
*Seriously though* *Goodbye.*
Oh, you were busy back there. Well, I suppose we could just sit in this room and glare at each other until somebody drops dead. But I have a better idea, it's your old friend, deadly neurotoxin, if I were you I would take a deep breath, and hold it.
i wanna know what the trap is
*glados places defective turrets outside of the glass box and all of the turrets..explodes*
This track is one of my favourites, mainly because it slowly introduces Wheatley's motifs into it and shows the struggle between GLaDOS and Wheatley as they persuade Chell to press/not press the button. At the climax of Wheatley's battle, the second half of this track is now the opposite, where Wheatley's motifs and the Central Core's both predominate GLaDOS' as she persuades Chell to press the button.
A work of art in summary.
I love the track so much. And I also love the climax. I had to make an orchestra to this track and build all of that in, its just so good. Can't wait to orchestrate "your precious moon".
@@Danbero how did it go?!
What's a motif?
@@Danbero i'd LOVE to see your work!
@@cheesetoast5034 a motif is a distinct rhythm or musical unit that's small but recognizable. it's like a little musical idea that can be brought up multiple times across a single or multiple different pieces to invoke a feeling each time it's brought up
I don't know if anyone's noticed this before, but Rattman's deranged rantings that you can hear in the secret rooms in test chambers 5 and 17 actually are in perfect tune to this song. A bit eerie
+Tom Atkins
This COULD have been composed by Rattman in the universe that Portal 2 exists in, which oddly enough now is it's own universe (despite it STILL being the Half-Life universe) because so much time has passed, all of the things that could have happened in the story of Half Life... there's still something going on AFTER Half Life.
+Tom Atkins I hate the fact Rattman is alive in Portal 2. It has been at least 100 years since Portal 1, so there's no way he's still alive. Also, how could he compose the music IN the game? It was composed by a composer at Valve, Mike Morasky.
I just realized since the song with Rattmans voice is called "Ghost of Rattman", it means he really is dead and that those noises are just his ramblings from the past added into the song for atmosphere.
He's not alive, it's just the echoes of him since he died. If you saw the comic, he got shot by turrets and most likely died.
@@catches07 But he put himself into some kind of cryo. I feel like Ratt is still alive, or how would he put the one-color portal at the overgrown test chambers before GLaDOS was activated?

-0:04-1:34 glados leitmotif
-2:00-2:05 brief wheatley motif
-3:12-3:16 wheatley motif returns stronger this time
-3:30-3:35 returns again, and the tempo speeds up. throughout this, i think i can make out an undercurrent of glados' motif
4:19 _Your Precious Moon_ plays as the trumpets from wheatley's motif make their returns. it's really interesting how his motif started out pretty quiet, with just one brass instrument (i think trumpet) but slowly started getting louder, with more instruments added to it!
3:30 was the beginning of Your Precious Moon, however its not in Your Precious Moon

Mike Morasky was a genius.
Was ?
Archangelus
Was, as in, his work for the music of Portal 2, was a success. :) There's a clear distinction between the lonely and dark atmosphere of Portal's OST to Portal 2's chaotic electronic feel.
GLaDOSCake122 Ok ^^', I tought you where saying "was" because he was dead, really got scared for a second.
He could've also meant that he wasn't so good after making the Portal 2 soundtrack, but he didn't mean that. Also, GLaDOSCake122 is right about the distinction.
Lightningbeat Productions
Portal used to be complete built on Half-Life assets, even the OST was made by Half-Life's composer, I wonder if HL3 will make a clear distinction like HL1 and HL2.
I love the deep synths in the back, it feels as if they're there to sow feelings of doubt into the player, making them subconsciously wonder if they really are doing the right thing.
I legit just contemplated putting Wheatley into the mainframe on my first playthrough. GLaDOS is the only construct that knew how to control the facility. Wheatley is, and I quote "the product of the greatest minds of a generation coming together to create the dumbest moron who ever lived." I legit questioned if this was a good choice or not.
Chapter 5
Wheatley: Press the button
GLaDOS: Don't. Do. It.
- Yes do do it!
- Don't press that button! You don't know what you're doing...
Chapter 9:
GLaDOS: Go press the button, GO PRESS IT!
Wheatley: DO NOT PRESS THAT BUTTON!
- WE'RE SO CLOSE! GO PRESS THE BUTTON!
- Don't press it
- PRESS THE BUTTON!
And the theme that plays before you press that button is a remix of this
So appropriate.

I was really glad that the game didn’t end there.
