My brother is 11 years old and this year I have had a conversation with him on menstrual cycles. Because, a day before I got to know that a boy in a road have made fun of a girl who had a stain on her skirt. So, I made a diagram and taught him the exact process so that he can understand it is natural and respect the process. I just hope parents and elders talk about periods at home so that the mentality of young ones can be better with time. I'm so thankful that you made a video on this topic Ma'am.

I felt low for hours but then I watered them again the next morning and challenged them " me roj ese hi pani dungi inhe dekh lena inme se ek bhi sukha toh " obviously nothing happened to my little plants 😊 ....they faces but a part of them knows these myths are false and need to be discarded

I was diagnosed with endometriosis when I was 19. My pain would be so excruciating that I would almost feel like nearly fainting. I would have every kind of medications but they were of no use.
Last year in April, I decided to join a gym(though I discontinued in 2 months), my pains were significantly less. As I could not go to the gym anymore, I started making changes in my diet. I would drink apple cider vinegar in a glass of water every single morning, I cut off completely on dairy, fried foods and sugar as much as possible. No aerated drinks or anything until occasionally. Drank 2-3 ltrs water every single day. Also I made sure to do some amount of pelvic exercises like crunches and leg raises, even normal cardio like running. Since last 1.5 years, I'm having pain free periods. Even if I face them some months, they're tolerable and quick set of crunches or leg raises get rids of them.

Its just for the safety & health of women

    • @prithvithefanofindiancultu1765
      @prithvithefanofindiancultu1765 3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

Yeah it's a genuine question. Watch Sinu Joseph's video on Sangam talks. She gives you the real reason. Most of the Hindus don't know the shastras and talk crap. It's not about impurities. It's about energies. The thing is during a period if a girl visits a temple she is so pure that the Chaitanya is transferred from the idol to her and the idol looses it's Chaitanya. And when the chaitanya is transferred to a human body the human body does not have the capacity to sustain it. Our temples are not mere prayer halls but they are energy centres built on Agama Shastras. However a women should not be restricted from chanting and she can do the Japas. It's upto you to believe this or not according to your choice. However the Indian society does not understand this and they have created a narrative as most of them have idea on how to do rituals and have no idea of the significance of the rituals. There are temples which worships menstruation like Kamarup Kamakhya of Assam. It depends on the nature of the diety and everything. And other reason they were isolated I think (because I have Carefully observed the mentality of our society) was because they had to do heavy physical work and if they were not isolated in the name of custom then they would have been forced to work and some women who are weak would find it difficult. And another thing is some abusive husbands try to have sex with their wives without consent during periods and they had a tendency to harm their wives. In order to protect women from these kind of men they isolated women to give them their space. But the narrative today that a woman is not pure during periods and treating them like trash is absolutely ridiculous and you should give proper care to a woman during her period. Anyways these days things have changed and some customs of isolation is not relevant anymore.

    1. Is it safe to use? ( A senior gynaecologist said to me that what needs to come out of the body, has to come out. It shouldn't be stored inside in a cup)
    2. Menstrual cup and virginity ( the same doctor asked me as to how I can use it when I am still unmarried as it might tamper the hymen)
    Also,

not to visit a holy place to ward off or stay away from evil spirits also as in those times temples n all were built up in hillls so to avoid rough journey as there were no pads back in the days

Hello Ma'am, You are doing great so far. I want you to talk about Menstrual Cup as it's very useful for our period.
There are many many benefits of using it for ex. Its cost affective, environment friendly, no rashes, no tension of having infection, no odour, and many more.
But in India very few people know about it and if they know then they are worried about how to use and how it will happen. There are many more questions that women get when they heard about Menstrual cup.
It would be great if you make video on it. As a gynecologist you can suggest using Menstrual cup over pad.
    Thank you ma'am.
    Love ❤️ from Surat, Gujarat.

Tbh when sejal talked about education given at school secretly only to girls I related. Even in our school the same thing is done. I feel boys need to know about this too. When pains get really bad and theres a male teacher we say that we are having a head ache and the boys say we are weak and cant even take a headache... PERIODS NEED TO BE NORMALIZED, PERIOD.

    • @triptibanerjee7

If it is at or after 8 years its ok.. before 8 it is called precocious puberty and it has other associated coditions also.. so it needs several kinds of testing to be done for underlying reason

Well am very luckyy... I was 11 when i got my period and my mom had already briefed me about it when i was 10. And finally when i got the periods and its companions like mood swings and cramps my dad was always there to care for and provide compassion. I've always been able to tell my dad plainly that i got my period... I'd come back from school or college and I'd just declare i got my period and i never felt that it was awkward to say it in front of my dad or wasn't chided for it. And all this was 20 years ago in a very normal middle class family of Indian Small town... But then again.. My dad's very progressive and almost a feminist. Now am 31 and married to an equally sensible and compassionate man. I guess I've been lucky in the men department. lolzzz

You told my story 😀 I am 31, and even now, I just declare that I got periods. My dad used to get sanitary napkins for me earlier. Now my husband is also caring. If there are mood swings, he knows it is due to hormonal changes. Nowadays guys are changing and society is becoming broad minded as well. Hope to see more people like our families. 😀

I would personally love to know more about the symptoms of pre-menstrual syndrome as I go through excessive amount of negative emotions, thoughts , low self-esteem and uncontrollable mood swings during this time. And I have not come across any literature which talks about the management of symptoms of pre-menstrual syndrome. It's also been declared as a Psychiatric disorder in the DSM-5. Would love to know your views and get guidance from you on it. Thank you.

Its very simple to manage pain i have tried it..
Drink lots & lots of water since the first day of period... Warm water is preferred as it relaxes muscles & reduces pain
& also by doing some yoga or meditation & simply not thinking about it is helpful.
I have tried these things ... Today is my second day & no pain at all even yesterday i had no pain!
Just change mindset the mind will automatically shut the pain off😄

While watching her channel I always used to think why isn't anyone from India doing it (Not beacuse someone in the west is doing it so we should do it, but beacuse of the langauagr barrier) as we all know a large percentage in of Indian population can't understand English. Finally, someone is doing it. Hope this channel grows really well and people can learn from this channel.
