No, Buddhism and Jainism have their own history but they never dominated common life of Indians, Buddhism specifically was a very elite thing who commissioned great monuments. And the life of Jains and Buddhists is hard so it's not for everybody. Just like Chaanakya was a hindu throughout his life but died as a jain same goes for Chandragupt maurya. And there is nothing Buddhist about hindu temples. If hindus were really occupying you wouldn't see Buddhist and Jains structures in India.

But having Buddhist and Jain sculptures doesn't mean the monument isn't Hindu, You need to see if the structure resembles any other Jain or Buddhist structure so no it doesn't, Jain temples and Buddhist temples are very different from Hindu temples, Buddhist built stupas and you find them in India, sri Lanka, and in entire South East Asia. Jains were always revered by hindus so there is no chance that their temples were harmed in any way.
There has to be starting point for temple worship from Yagyas! Brahmins got tired of burning ghee and sacrificing animals in jungle! Temple worship was already there in Dravidians.
