Skin hunger. It's real. If you go to a nursing home the residents/older people will want to hug and touch you. It's not bc they're crazy or think you are their family. They just never get touched if they don't have family. They may get turned in the bed or bathed but to be touched is something our body craves like chocolate. I love to cuddle. When my mom passed suddenly I started holding my dad's hand more often bc I knew after 37 years of being with my moma and how much they held each other, that he missed it. So when we ride in the car or go to the movies I hold his hand and even lay on his arm. Skin hunger.

Chunky But Funky 😎 One of the reasons I was never able to do it for very long was positioning. I’m usually on a bed/couch, leaning over & my back starts aching. I always told my (ex) wife that if we had a massage table, I’d gladly do it for longer. I actually thought about doing massage professionally, but after talking with a friend who does it, I didn’t think I could give out that kind of energy in a daily basis..

Getting scratched or something similar is the best thing ever, I remember once I was getting traced in my neck by a classmate, but then she told me she was actually writing on my neck and I didn't get mad cuz those 10 minutes were the best 10 minutes of my life, getting the ink off my neck was other story, but absolutely worth it

I'm a massage therapist and I LOVE giving other people massages. Its amazing to see and feel the tension and exhaustion leave the body of the person I'm massaging. And it feels nice to know that I made this person feel calmer and happier than when they came in. And it is not boring at all for me. I learn so much about a person when massaging them and its therapeutic for me as well in a way :)

I come from a very strict religious family (ugh) so the stereotype has always been a big part in my life, especially considering how much I love tattoos. Also, I know many people have tattoos, but most of those who do are not covered from shoulder-to-fingers (have a full sleeve) so that’s where I was coming from. But, as I said, I was only coming from a place where the stereotype is very prominent in my family🤷🏼♀️🤷🏼♀️ Hope this explains things!🖤

So, I'm a Licensed Massage Therapist. I went down a rabbit hole that led me here. My question to you, the masses, is this: Should I add back scratching to my list of services? My thought is getting a set of claw rings (since I have to keep my natural nails short for massage) and using those. (Plus, they'd be easy to sanitize!) What do you all think? How much would you pay for a professional scratching session?
I think that would be great. The idea with claws is good. I dont know about the feeling though. In my opinion scratching with short nails is good too. Its different but maybe you know what I mean. Depends on customers preferences. I‘ve never been to a massage or anything like that, so I dont know about prices, but I would pay for it. I came home from gym and randomly thought about backscratching and watched this video. It reminds me of my childhood when my mother used to give me a backscratch. Now that I dont have anybody to do that - It also would be weird as you get older - a professional massage would be an option. Kinda random how I found your comment and I never write or answer any. But maybe you‘ll see that and I could help.

Doesn‘t everybody have this? Or do you mean it happens to you even when you‘re only scratched lightly? I can „write“ on my skin as well, like that‘s something we did on the regular in elementary school, but it only works when you scratch hard enough (ofc not hard enough to hurt yourself though).
