This guy is an interesting B-lister. Comes up short vs David Cassidy in the 70s despite better pipes, loses out to Knight Rider and Airwolf in the 80s despite sharper production on Street Hawk. Dude starred as Daredevil too in a backdoor pilot that didn't lead to anything. Goes to show half of Hollywood revolves around timing and luck.
And I really liked his acting playing daredevil and would have watched the tv series and did watch street hawk and liked his acting in that show and the show itself and I remember George Clooney starred in a episode before he became famous.
He had better vocal range then David Cassidy but Cassidy for whatever reason had a bigger stud factor. Rex I thought was cuter and could fill out a pair of snug jeans better though

Right. I just rediscovered Rex recently. I had forgotten about the Movie. Perhaps I never saw it to begin with although I was a fan of Rex's at age 15. I ordered the Movie on Amazon and it was $20. That's not cheap.

Her and her friends used to listen to this song a lot, and my sisters friends would say "too bad your little brother isn't older...he's cute, and looks just like Rex Smith!" ....of course I had no idea who he was, so I had to wait until her room was empty so I could look at a copy of Tiger Beat to find out what he looked like.....watching this video now at 50 yrs old....I guess I did look a lot like Rex. Quite a bit actually.
