    Great work so far, Guido. Loving the "pick-up" conversion and your skills with the plasticard and filler to create the smooth finish. Can't really comment on which one of the versions you should turn the 170 in to. What's the difference between a hot rod and a red rod?

    • @bilk1968
      @bilk1968  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +John Blanks (FishBowlMan) Thanks for for putting in your cents. Yeah- my bad pronounciation... "Rat Rod" is what I mean to say: Rusty and beat, but functional and fast.

    • @johnrblanks
      @johnrblanks 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Guido “Tailor” Hopp Less to do with your pronunciation and more to do with my complete lack of knowledge when it comes to cars. I'd have still had to ask you what a "Rat Rod" was.
      Given the work you've had to put in to complete the beautifully smooth finish - especially on the scratch built items, it would be a shame to hide it with rust and dents, etc so I'd probably lean towards the hot rod style.
      Having said that, when I heard the dirty-sounding slide guitar music you used towards the end of the video, beaten up and rusty is what came to mind.
      Whatever you decide, I'll look forward to seeing your progress.

    • @bilk1968

      +John Blanks (FishBowlMan) Thanks for your great input. Picture-Google Rat Rod" and you'll get the concept. Cheers!

    in USA a Merc refers to the Mercury car (Ford Company) and a Mercedes is known as a Mercedes car :)

    • @bilk1968
      @bilk1968  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi granskare! I thinking more down the line of "mercenary", as I like to name a project by the time of taking the project to the bench. Couldn't really find one for this so it was "nameless" , plus sharing the first letters of Mercedes. I really hadn't though about possible mix-ups.
      Thanks for watching!
