Its a lot of fun but definitely not a finished experience. Hopefully more players playing can get more focus on development for this mode. As well progession is way too slow
Imagine if other games had individual modes that come with free updates reviewed like they're full price seperate releases. It's crazy how much content is available in Fortnite now all for free
This was the oddest review in a while. It went up and down and sounded like an aussie old man being cranky about kids' games and microtransactions. 10/10
It's fun but nowhere near perfect yet. Too few songs, plus the fun part of playing Guitar Hero and Rock Band was practicing songs over and over again to perfect them. Doesn't work when songs are rotated out.
1:08 using your overdrive in the break is cursed, because you’re just wasting it then. You’re meant to use the time to get double points for the notes you hit…
Fortnite Festival positively surprised me, especially since it’s not a full separate game, just a fun thing to play in between your BR games. It’s just a lot of fun.
This game feels great and instead of looking at it as a rythm game u completely compare it to rock band. the UI for this game and the accessibility for it is 10x better than any previous title close to it. it just came out and fortnite has no experience with this genre. treating it so harshly is typical IGN. The main issue is the cost for songs but complaining about controls just doesnt make sense as YOU decide what they are. u can map them out yourself and with confirmation of e-kits and guitars being added for use makes me wonder if you even did any research besides playing the game for an hour
4:41 Okay, who is this reviewer? Luke? Luke, you are my favorite reviewer to listen to at IGN. "My wife trying to play Tekken like a tiny type writer" 😂
When you hire a reviewer who admits that’s he’s never played a free to play game before and doesn’t understand the monetisation of modern F2P games, and they then lowball the review of that game based largely on said monetisation - you can see how a score of 4 might seem disingenuous. He ended up talking more about Rocket Racing (not at all related) and the monetisation of Guitar Hero (a full price game that also required the purchase of a physical instrument control kit) DLC 15 years ago than he did the fundamentals of this Fortnite mode. It’s like, at some point you just stopped trying to fairly review games. I’m not even a Fortnite fan and this review irked me. The mode looks fine and the prices are more than in-line with MANY other F2P games, but then your reviewer would know that if you’d hired one who had ever played one before. Be better.
Its an interesting mode. But it lacks the guitar hero vibes. But more of rock band. My problem is a lot of the songs do not use a guitar or drums. It is mostly pop and rnb songs, but lacks other genres too
Was expecting a 7 from ign but a 4 cuz it’s a gamepad. IGN you need to git gud on osu or take a music theory class to get the rhythm down. You can score an easy flawless 100% on expert. Some songs are actually fun being on expert like Kendrick’s i on bass or Gaga’s bad romance bass beginning getting your fingers warmed up
Most GH fans I've seen are more just happy that it's there and getting a much wider audience into these types of games. I've gotten more of a "This is pretty neat for what it is" vibe from the reception. If we're being real, nobody is swapping from Clone Hero to Fortnite Festival, which is the general metric that this review is being judged on.
The foundation is there. There's just not a whole lot of actual game unfortunately. I've played a decent amount and finished the festival pass, and this game is definitely the most lacking out of the new additions
They review the game without micro transactions, and after a week of release Activision added the microtransaction. Nitrofuled was killed off by Activision greed.
You can play 4 different instruments with obviously different keys to press on every song adding to the replay ability, and timing your star ability with the rest of your band is very important for the best score on leaderboards as well as making sure everyone plays a different thing so it’s not the same playing solo and every note being double if you hit them perfectly adds more skill. Not to mention the announcement of instruments being made by Epic for this but you can already use the guitar hero guitars if you have one.
@@CuteBaldman14 lol no it's not. And you know what made Rock Band? Instrument controllers and a mic with a group of your friends with a massive song catalogue. Not tapping a controller to a pitiful song selection.
It's free with a massive asterisk. Once the tracks rotate and you lose access to the song you wanted, you're gonna run over to the item store and get it for their highly inflated price, again. Just play Clone Hero.
The tracks are too expensive 5 bucks per tracks is not how you price things ive enjoyed the mode but everuthing is expensive and the festival pass way too overpriced and doesnt have enough to entice you to buy it again for returns (the free and locked vbucks) nor more tracks because the pass only gives you 3 tracks it shouldve give us more because the asking price is higher
@@sunakunxvCosmetics? Doesn’t exactly work that way in rhythm games. No other games charges this much to play. Calling it free to play is VERY dishonest.
Its not horrible, its just worse than most rhythm games in any recent years, and the f2p doesn't overcome the degree of monetization. So it gets rated accordingly.
they got the most boomeriest boomer to review a zoomer game💀 Im not surprised he's just ripping the game to shreds as an old school gamer not used to the current monetization models and it not being exactly like his precious rock band 4 💀 Yeah the songs are expensive but they give you a free track list that changes on a rotation and you can leech off the people that did buy the expensive songs by partying up with them
This can be summarized as: this is not a full $60 Rock Band game.
Precisely. It’s not! And it should not be judged like it is. :,))
Yeah that’s the sum of it all
Yeah but they cost almost the same when alot of the songs are locked behind 5 bucks per song.
