- Souji's theme after he upgrades to either the Granvang or Vangnex. Reuploaded, after someone pointed out a looping mishap.
Much as I like Chitose as a character, I have to admit that, personally, Souji's got her beat when it comes to themes.
I listen to lot of OG songs over and over again, but this one is definitely one of the top. You never hear progression of different instruments (This being SRW, of course it's all done by a keyboard probably but still) eventually joining up together to make the explosive final part in an OG music. I'd love to listen to a whole orchestra playing this. .
"Soji serious mode theme" I loved the develop of him and how his relationship with Nine become closer even when both never seemed to get along or agreed with something
especially when granvang started walking towards you with intent to basically disintigrate you form exsistence harder than mazinger zero. the face of vangran tho. its so awesome
one of the best OG character themes I've heard.
Touya's themes are pretty close. But maybe I'm a little biased since Granteed is awesome.

I'm still hoping he'll get included in future OG games once they're done adding W, K, Neo, L, UX and BX first.
I dunno they may skip straight to the V characters. I think the reason they stuck the J characters into Moon Dwellers was cause even if it was just fan translation, they knew that more english speakers were familiar with them since it was still translated. They may follow that logic with the latest OG characters. Thats not to say that they will skip the W,K etc lot though. Guess we will just have to see.
It's actually been a pattern with Banpresto to place characters into OG based on a game's release date.
OGs: Classic, Masou Kishin, Compact 2, Alpha, Alpha Gaiden, Alpha 2, Compati Hero, A
OGG: Impact/MX, R, D, Compact 3
2nd OG: part of Alpha 3 (including Touma)
DP: part of Alpha 3 (including Albharda and Selena)
MD: GC/XO, J, part of Alpha 3 (including Ayin, Calico and Spectra)
Next game: will likely have the next in line, i.e. W, K and/or NEO (unless they do W, Z1 and K)
Ill be honest i don't know much about any srw except the ones that were translated (officially or unofficially) so i will take your word for it.
I actually only noticed that pattern myself a few months ago, and I've been an SRW fangirl for five years. XD
damn welp I think I found my new fave OG theme for the longest time it was Guardian Angel...now its Matte Black Bullet
After many years I finally beat the game. Always had demo on for Souji. Top notch theme.
I know a lot of people gave Soji VangNex but I gave him GranVang, and it's awesome.
Like Granvang is still using projectile-based weaponry just with a more super robot flair.
Both robots are awesome though.
The animations for GranVang are cooler IMO, but I like the face/head of the VangNex more
Still, can't go wrong with either units IMO :)
I gave him GranVang too... I should do a second run with the VangNex, before I take the Chitose route.

The moment Soji reappears in the GranVang and this theme plays I thought, "Welp, looks like Soji is gonna have to smack a bitch!"
I was not disappointed.

I generally like Soji more than Chitose. His story feels more inspiring because he goes through great loss twice in his life (lost his family during the Earth bombings just like Chitose, and then later lost his entire squad during Operation M) yet he perseveres through life nonetheless. That's the kind of attitude I'd want to see in someone going on an adventure like the one the Yamato crew is on.
Also, considering how Soji is an established veteran pilot and how the VangRay is clearly designed with him in mind (a black colored mech specializing in speedy range combat piloted by a guy noted to live on the fast lane and whose 2nd theme is called Matte Black Bullet. Come on Banpresto you're not even being subtle) it generally makes more sense for him to be the protagonist. The rivalry with Ghuli feels way more natural because of the whole speed thing too.
Not to diss on Chitose of course. She's a wonderful character in her own right as she generally grows more as a person than Soji does (as he's already pretty assured about who he is and what he wants to do). She just has a questionable fashion sense lol.

For is more accurate the second theme of chitose but this one is good option too
Feel like a final boss theme.
In my opinion Chitose's first theme and Soji's second theme are the best
For me both chitose and soji themes are good in the same way
IMO, Soji > Chitose in both character and themes.
The trumpets especially give off that 'I WILL SURVIVE' feel.

Nine built VangRay based on Souji's ramblings on the way as he delivered the ERS-100, so it made more sense if Souji was the MC.
there may be two VangRay if V cast joins the OG series
Chitose is ehhhh but Soji is dandy as hell.
The guitar riffs on the other hand give off a 'I'LL KICK THAT HARD-DRIVE OF YOURS TO THE NEXT CENTURY'.

I'm going to be lynched for a terrible pun, but it's only right for a guy like Souji to get an unit that could be spelled as "Grand Wang". With his character design, he could probably compete with Sänger and Rätsel for the title of "real man". XD
I just realized I want Souji to be the fourth DGG pilot in OG.
Don't forget his awesome tsundere co-pilot.
And I just found out.... sorry to break this dream, but the 4th DGG are scrapped and from what's left made into G barankan.... or so what I found

Ditto. Soji always goes first in my games. His theme is very much a "My turn!" before decimating the enemy fleet.
