Each person will respond differently to a stressor. That’s contingent on a multitude of factors such as what disorders do we have present (PTSD, personality disorder, anxiety, depression, bipolar, etc), our temperament, personality, coping style, and whether we have resiliency or not. Alcohol and drugs are usually involved in domestic violence as well and it seems that they are both alcoholics. I feel that your statement was very reductive and ignores a lot of factors. - comment left by a trauma survivor of developmental trauma and licensed mental health clinician.

This comment is so dismissive of an individual persons experience and reaction to those experiences. Not everyone is "You" therefore they will handle their trauma differently than you.

      @@SeparationOfChurchAndStatewhat factors?
Mental? I have diagnosed mental illness.
      Drugs?
I was an addict and alcoholic for years.
      I am not ignoring anything.
I am tired of people using mental health and drugs as excuses to be horrible human beings.
I was in very volatile relationships at times and never hurt or killed anyone, no matter how high I got.

      Have it.
      Alcoholic or drug addict?
      I am both.
She is just evil and the fact that so many people excuse what she did is the problem.
I am not listing my diagnosis, but I have a few and they almost match hers and I haven't zipped anyone in a suitcase and tortured them.

She is a biased psychologist hired by the defense. Unfortunately, we just have to view her findings through a critical lens. If psychologist are hired directly by the prosecution to testify to a particular finding we have to do the same.
There probably should be some kind of process where like 3 random psychologist are selected to do evals without any bias attached and they could testify to their findings. Findings could lean towards defense or prosecution and either side could choose to use them.
It just isn’t how it works. The defense hires people to get the result they want. If Dr. Julie Harper didn’t get the result the defense wanted she wouldn’t be paid to testify. Rarely are the results different and if they are we wouldn’t even get to see them.
Notably, it was pointed out that Sarah’s results fit criteria for NPD which I’m sure many of us think yes, obviously based on the behavior we have seen from her. Even her strained relationships with defense attorney after defense attorney. I mean that doesn’t really align with BWS seems to lean towards a personality disorder. Everyone else is the problem but Sarah. Dr. Harper not very surprisingly came to the conclusion the defense wanted despite Sarah fitting the criteria for NPD.

Same OP. Watching this ish actually has me feeling a bit angry. I’m already in my feelings bc my ex bf literally showed up at my place last night- drunk as a skunk- trying his best to force his way in. I actually had to call the police to get him dragged away from my door. FYI- I haven’t spoken a word to him in about 4 years. We don’t have any reason to communicate, we don’t interact on social media, share mutual friends- nothing. He’s also an extremely manipulative, abusive, angry pdf file.
Short story long- i find the shrink testifying on behalf of Suitcase Sarah to be creepy and off putting. I can’t quite put my finger on why I find her testimony to be so…hard to believe? But I do. I find her vibe strange and untrustworthy.

Lmfao this woman is saying that Sarah needs to demonstrate the criterion of NPD in a variety of settings….uh… her lack of quality motherhood, her last failed marriage, her inability to get and maintain a job, her current alimony battle, her numerous letters to the judge and inability to keep a lawyer, the fact that she zipped up a dude in a suitcase and blamed him for her imprisoning him there because he wanted to get out. This psychologist is ridiculous.

Sarah Boone is an enabler. She knew that both of them were alcoholics yet still drank. He didn't force her to drink it or pour it down her throat. And how do we know where those injuries came from? She could have fallen from being drunk. I don't buy the BSS. It was mutual combat between both of them. So what that she had a rough childhood or no friends/family. Many people do but you dont see them putting someone in a confined space. And the video of Jorge hitting the tv is irrelevant. Not once did I hear her say Jorge stop it. She knows exactly what she is doing.
