Even as a purely MiG-21 guy I've really enjoyed the A-4 being added to ECW. Its always a nail-biting moment trying to intercept one, as there are some REALLY good pilots who can whip that thing around and will sucker us Fishbros into complacency.
Sometimes it's a total cakewalk and an easy kill, and others it's a 'HOLY FUDGE WHAT WAS THAT' moment as he stands that A-4 on its tail and is suddenly all over you like a cheap suit.

Love the bird and its definally fun in DCS, love just how simple it is and much fun it is to fly, really wish it became a full module for DCS but im glad its free for everyone to try!

you said you didn't understand the AOA gauge so here's what the lights actually mean: Orange donut means correct AOA for landing. The green down arrow means you need to decrease your AOA (green = go faster, down arrow = nose down). The red up arrow means increase AOA (red = slow down, up arrow = nose up).
Note that this ONLY tells you if your AOA is correct. It's possible to have the correct AOA but incorrect velocity. Also it's only really critical to have the right AOA for arrested landings, so you don't bounce the hook over the cable.
As someone, who also came from War Thunder and likes to fly a lot of different aircraft, it seems quite clear to me that WT is very good at teaching you to be flexible; to learn a mindset and to apply it successfully to a variety of aircraft. Sure - someone, who goes hard on a single airframe will be deadly in that, but you are demonstrating very clearly that you can be lethal in pretty much any aircraft in DCS with relatively little (I assume) preparation, just because you have the fundamentals down very well!

i need to play the A4 again, its been so long
this is a GREAT jet, and the mod it's superlative well done too considering that it's FREE..the only thing that seems to not work are the shrikes, but I think that it's something on the ED side..
I'm sorry, but that kill where u took off is literal pylons was so f-ckin awesome.
Made me download the a4 again, can be surprisingly accurate with the bombing computer with not much practice, would help if the the stick I had was any good tho😂
What I’ve done is limit the roll input to ~75%, no one needs a roll rate of 720°/s 😅
Makes it much easier to hold the same heading
I was thinking of brining down the max input so will definitely try that, I already put like a 50 input curve in but it really doesn’t help my twist sensor on my stick is broke so don’t have good rudder control, wanna get a vkb evo gladiator to fix the crappy stick issue tho
It a tuff one, because the way DCS and how long does it take to create a module, how many modules do ED and their 3rd parties make and DCS sell per year, to make profit?
Let's hope thats it's nothing more of a misunderstanding, as I would hate to see the F-15E, AV8-B Harrier, Mirage 2000C Mig-19 Farmer and South Alantic map disapper over time.
But only the two Parties involved can resolve this dispute.

You say 'thank goodness for DCS's shit damage model' (and it is, the hitpoint system needs to die in all games), but I remember when it modeled blast/frag a lot worse! Because it basically didn't model it at all...I still have screenshots of the cheeky MANPAD infantryman surrounded by a cloud of little rocket blast craters. If you didn't hit them between the eyes with your rocket, it didn't do anything at all!
Ah well the only reason that isn’t happening here is because the server runs a script that adds it in lol
Dumb question of the day, how do you fire just guns and not sidewinders at the same time? Is it just a keymap or a cockpit switch?
Got to deselect the missiles when you just want the gun
Like how Bullet said..but if u dont want to do that in the mode select knob there are two gm modes
I dont remember which one is which but use the right one in the mode selector knob(GM Arm?)that is just before computer delivery..in this mode u can pickle for missles n trigger for guns but if u hav missles selected in the arnament panel the trigger will fox them so u need to deselect them..
If u dont want to do that just bind the left side Gm mode(GM UNARM?) this would only enable guns only even tho u selected missles in the arnament panel it wont work
If u were to pickle in this mode it wud act as a jettison button so keep that in mind
Then again i could be wrong this is based purely on memory but im pretty sure of it

What I’ve done is bind stations 1 and 5 to left and right on a HAT, and 3 and 4 as up and down on the same HAT, so it’s just the centre pylon I can’t select without the keyboard; but that one can’t carry missiles anyway so I’ll never be in a hurry for it.
Then on a second HAT I have left and right as rotating the GM Arm dial anti/clockwise and up and down as GM Arm and Unarm, so I can cycle specifically but also skip to the ones most used.
Most satisfying thing about the A-4 is how much there is to do in order to operate the weapons, but how easy it is to do without looking once you have the binds set for it.
I even have selective jettison on a throttle HAT, left and right cycling and then down for jettison.
Then the other HATs are for pickle quantity and time delay, it’s a very HAT friendly jet to bind

I know there’s been a lot of debate around period accurate loadouts and the A-10/Su-25 being included lately
@@Bullet4MyEnemy that….. it was a nice change watching A-4s and F-86s being the main thing. I hope in the FUTURE we will see more of period and or theatre specific aircraft. If you can afford Syria you can afford an aircraft.

it could also be that he is in afterburner, when flaring I always cut the throttle,make the flares the hotest thing around. Love your vidos btw, easily becoming one of favorite DCS content creators@@Bullet4MyEnemy

How so? I’ve not seen any bugs aside from it bugging out sometimes when it rolls at full speed, but that’s more when I’m trying to kill one than fly it.
