- A complete dub of the first prequel comic for Hazbin Hotel (which can be read in its entirety at www.hazbinhote... ), featuring full sound design for all scenes and proof-read/corrected text on all the comic sections for easier reading.
My first serious attempt at sound design on such a large scale. While I'm not too happy at certain parts of this looking back on it, it was a good learning experience and I think I've managed to get better with my voices and acting as time has gone on.
Hazbin Hotel and all its characters belong to Vivziepop and Spindle Horse Toons.

I thaught that valentino was a very powerful customer of the stripper club where angel works, but be angels boss makes also sense why he treats him like this, and how angel get "happy" when charlie gave him a bunch of money only for "accept" the deal. His face was surprised😍 maybe cuz he doesn't gets a relative amount of money from valentino, thats why he said that, after all, it would be good to stay at the hotel, where he could sleep and eat every day like a respectable demon 😢😢👌and the way like valentino spoke to him, like he was some kind of "slave" and having to suck his.boss dick etc often to havent problems with him and the videoclip "addict" completes this story, when was the first time when angel was cruelly raped by his boss valentino and in this comic technically have passed some months from the addict video,.but before cherry destroyed the stripper club where he works. This comic is like a middle situation between the first night with his disgusting boss and the freedom that cherry his frend gave to him, and then is when we see hazbinhotel pilot episode
In life, he was abused and tied down for his sexuality; in afterlife, he's used, and tied TO his sexuality. Either way, he's stuck in a box, by someone else.

Itz_Star Wolfy in the pilot, when Angel ate the ice pop and saw Charlie become down, he was about to reach out but decided not to in the end. It can be seen that he was somewhat appreciated her for giving him a chance of redemption (this comic) but not trust her enough, unlike Cherribomb where he values their relationship (Addict). That’s why he joined the territorial war

I feel like it was a good breath of fresh air for Angel as well, to talk to demons who had nothing to do with the world of sex at all...

This was probably the first time Angel never had to think about his job or money...
I found it really touching in the end when Charlie told him _there's more to him than he thinks_ and Angel kinda doesn't know how to function after that... he gets all awkward and quiet... then contemplates the idea of redemption alone in his room, a possibility that never appeared in his mind until Charlie came and opened the door...
it's so sweet... in the pilot, Angel helps Cherri out by _"doing his girl buddy a solid"_ , because Cherri was there for him when he needed her the most.. he even pushes Cherri out of harms way during the Sir Pentious fight...
when Charlie was feeling down later in the episode, he reached his hand out to her wanting to comfort her, but changed his mind last second.
so yes. Angel Dust can definitely be redeemed... He's not a bad person... you can tell he cares for his friends..
I agree. Out of all the characters in the series, I feel as if Angel has the most room for character development. Well him and maybe Husker.

This gives a whole new insight of Angel tbh. He is basically under the control of his boss and is getting abused by him - I feel like he really wants to escape this life cause he himself knows that this aint making him happy, but he feels like he cant break out of it, maybe he feels even hopeless, like he doesnt deserve any better or something like that. Gosh, I wanna hug him so bad, Angel is just so very hurt ;v;
In the song addict he says this “looking awesome~ *feeling helpless”* this shows that he does feel helpless. And he doesn’t want to tell people about his problems because he’s just not used to being treated nicely. POOR ANGEL😔

then he goes and contemplates the idea of redemption alone in his room... in a way that seems like he's more doubting the idea of a demon as far gone as himself being redeemed than the idea of redemption itself.

For me, angel is my favourite character, cuz has too many dark histories, and making him much deeper than whe think in pilot episode, thanks to this comic and addict videoclip.

Actually, this does make sense. Angel died a long time ago, which is why he plays with the car window, cause he had never seen anything like it, and since he could’ve been alive back when that was a thing, he just still wears it.

Charlie giving money to Angel really is an interesting contrast to Alastor offering his services, specifically being able to see Charlie on both ends of “charity.”
That's pretty interesting, I didn't think of that. On another note what I really like about this comic is how it also shows how Charlie seems to be a foil to Val, especially when you see the contrast with how Angel interacts with them.
Angel really is the most developed character right now. Easy to see why he’s the fan favorite.

I absolutely love the voice for Valentino. It nails his sleazy and evil personality better than the traditional "pimp" voice I've seen other people use. I really hope a similar VA is chosen for him in canon

Cuz.when an abused person talks to people that is not its abuser, talk showing a fake normal attitude(what angel does) when charlie founds him being who really is, sad, hugging his pig, he started to insult her, cuz feels ashamed of his person.
First, hes abused economically without get a cent(valentino is a pin pin, a person who controls porn industry) and like them, is very possessive, so he doesn't want to see his sex toy angel, moving freedomly. (In.canon comic with charlie, he tells he has no money to pay his flat, and felt like wtf when she gave him money "because yes". That means hes not used to it. And also in the addict clip, before the forced kiss, valentino is manipulating money.)
Second, get also abused physically and verbally, thats why cuz with valentino is that way, hes shy, submissive, always frightened and obedient(most times xd, but being like he reaLly is, not that obedient, sometimes dont obey him. But in reality, he done that cuz only wanted being rewarded by valentino for once and hear by his voice"youre not that useless that I thought, well.done" but, only getting the opposite.) And valentino uses his manipulation skills with his dark behaviour and red magic smoke to control him(im addict, we can see all the smoke stuff) and playing also with his tall, placing over angel, so that places him a dominant position over angel. And due to this, angel is a drug addict even more than in human life(he died because of them)to escape and avoid valentino.
Also abused in the sexual way, the forced kiss and the rape at the end of addict, and also the nasty and "sweet" ways valentino talks to angel, calling angel "angel cakes" or "dear" or "sweet pie" that words, sometimes rapers use them to adress to their victims, mostly, when are often raped(valentino and angel)

This comic does give us a really good bit of insight into Angel: He’s a gangster at heart. He knows the streets, how to make deals and get shit done. And if he gets threatened, he’s ruthless. He could be a force to be reckoned with if he got the chance. He came from a crime family on Earth, and damn if it didn’t show here.

Technically speaking, Angel was clearly planning to use violence before the mobster was going to say it. The whole 'let me speak a language you understand' thing was Angel basically saying he gave up negotiating because violence was the only thing that was going to get through to them.

I really like the distortion you put on Val's voice. It fits with his theme extremely well, sounding very insect like with that rattle in his voice. Also, it's adds a lot to the atmosphere of his scenes. I hope they use something similar in the official series.

Also, I think the reason they're focusing so much on Angel is because hes the first tenant of the hotel. So, knowing his backstory and traumas is helpful in showing how he changes for redemption
He is prolly also the main character to be redeemed in the series.

From reintroducing Fat Nuggets in ep 2, to showing more of Valentino's possesive relation with Angel and even acknowledging how Angel was technically an experiment as their patron
It's always a shame whenever they retcon potential good story aspects, some cases i don't mind but others like these i like them just the way it is

Honestly I think hazbin should have stared out as a comic series first than a web show.
Both are great, but the latter tooks much, much more effort and resources, thus making us wait for so much longer. I wanna see more comics too tbh
Vivziepop made an extensive comic series called Zoophobia which she dropped in favor of Hazbin. It might still sorta be in the same "universe," because Hell and demons exist in that story too

It’s a small thing but damn if it aint depressing
I’ve seen quite a bit of different interpretations of this comic lately, and I must say that this is the most realistic version there is to what I would imagine the real source would be. I’m very impressed with the tone, voices, pacing and just about everything with this comic. Thank you, for doing this piece justice. I believe other people have tried their best to replicate this, and theirs have been “okay” or best “somewhat satisfying” to watch, which I applaud other voice actors for trying, but this has got to take the icing on the cake for me!
Interesting how Charlie and Vaggie promised to protect Angel, even before Alastor came into the picture.
I've heard a rumor that Charlie is possibly more powerful than Alastor (given she's the daughter of Lucifer) but her control over her temperament is holding her back from using her full power. Again, just a rumor I'm not sure if it's canon.
There's also an important detail in chapter 1 charlie gives angel money for valentino so angel wouldn't have to use his body so immediately he went back home straight after they spoke. She really did care.
Notice the last scene where he’s holding Fat Nuggets. There’s a box in the bottom left corner. Originally named “fun stuff” now labeled as “work shit”. Proving how broken and worn down Angel is, he can’t even feel one of the most intimate ways of pleasure anymore…
