I myself live in America and love watching your videos. Your videos are truly "All of Russia you don't see on TV". I love how you say "no politics". I am glad I can come to Different Russia channel and see Russia without Politics. Thank you for making these videos, I enjoy them alot!
It is a wonderful gesture of goodwill you are sharing with your videos. You are providing the world with a positive and up to date view of Russia. For us that may never get the chance to see Russia in person, you given us a warm personal tour and education...
Affordable for poor or greedy Canadians. Cheap because based on slave labour, child exploitation, unpaid prisoner labour. Canadians don’t give a damn about suffering of others as long as their convenience remains untouched. That is real Canada.
Your country is beautiful!! I love your videos and would be happy to see a video on how much money to bring on a trip there. Thank you for sharing your demonstration.
Russia is very worth visiting but it isn't cheap especially if you try to travel there in US style. Hotels and restaurants can be pricy, but if you do things like home stays, air b&b, hostels, buy your own food in markets, or find one of the "soviet" style canteens, they still exist if you know where to look, you can have a great time. If you're ever in Eastern Europe there's always Transnistria, a breakaway part of Moldova where you can get a taste of Russia but at lower prices and a hint of what life was like in the Soviet Union, it wasn't the grey dreary world we've been told it was.
I was concerned with this question as well on my first visit. Almost everywhere will take credit and debit cards, Just make sure your bank will not charge you big conversion fees. My credit card and bank does not. I would go to the bank and use the ATM machines, the big banks in Russia are some of the best in the world for getting money out with no fees and have a great exchange rate. I would get the 1000 Ruble notes if I could and I would tell myself they are like our $20 notes even though its worth about $15 or so (close enough) It's good to have Rubles in notes and coins so you can pay for the bus (40 cents or so) and notes to buy things from street vendors. You will find many people on the street selling cool things to take home. I bought so many great warm wool socks and beanies there! For woman Russia may be dangerous with all the shopping! For me it was lots of coffee and Cigarettes. I love how honest all the shop keepers are and how nice everyone is.
Thank You ! Thank you for showing the people of the world , primarily the American people that Russia and America are very similar in everyday life. I started studying the Russian culture when I was in middle school during the time of Mr.Gorbachev & Mr.Regean under the time of Glasnōst and Perestroika, I don’t think many Russians know that this learning of the Russia and its culture were required study. I did not have to be encouraged to learn I absolutely love world cultures and geography. I state this in hope that the people living in not only Russia, but in other countries would know that no matter what news agencies say the people of the world are waking up to truth . We all have are ups and down , we all share the same happiness and sadness and we all want to have a peaceful world . So Thank You once more for your wonderful insight. Sincerely , GEO
Wow that's really cool I didn't know they had something like that in Russia but good to know that they do as always Valeria I enjoy your channel very much thank you for showing us all things Russian it's always a pleasure to see a new posting from you thank you very much
Russians are just like everyone else when it comes to being a discerning shopper. You want the best price you can get. You have many of the same products we have in our Dollar Tree stores, but I don't remember ever seeing beer in our Dollar stores. I don't know what flavor your Milky Ways are in the blue wrappers, but the the wrapping alone makes me want to eat one. Lol. As always, thank you for the journey.
Thank you so much for the videos. They are educational as well as a travel log of Russia. And your title is appropriate. It seems you really enjoy what you do, and wanted to let you know we appreciate your efforts. It may be a bit early, but Merry Christmas and best wishes for a Happy and Healthy New Year!
Another nice video, thanks Valeria. Near the start you mentioned that the store was on the first floor and then you went up the stairs. Here in Canada we would call that the second floor. Then I remembered the video you did about the Flats where you also called it the first floor. I was a little confusing but I understand now, ground or main floor then the first floor. Thanks again.
Thank you, Valeria, for taking us on an evening trip to the dollar store. I so much enjoy your sharing the everyday life of an everyday Russian. You are such a pleasant person and I have enjoyed every video that I have watched. I appreciate that you take the time to inform and share your Russian life with the world. I would love to see a video on what to expect for lodging, meals, souvenirs and sightseeing in the Moscow region of Russia.
A very nice video again. Your shops looks very cozy but they are huge. :) And even Hollandia beer is there, so no wonder i feel like home. Thank you for sharing my friend.
dollar stores here in the US are pretty popular. while a lot of brick and mortar shops are closing (sears, kmart etc) these dollar stores seem to be doing well. just like any store, deals can be had, but there can also be a lot of junk there. nice video. thanks
I really enjoy when you walk through stores. It looks almost identical to my local dollar store, except it doesn't offer a membership card. I already spend too much money there, so I don't mind lol.
I really enjoy watching your videos. They are so educational for all of us- USA. You do a great job explaining everything. I can tell Russian people are very enjoy able. Thanks for the videos.
From Sherry. Hi Valeria. Your store is much cleaner and more organized than the one near me. That was fun. It should be morning there now, so have a great day. Loved the jazz.
Hello. I am from America but born in Mexico. I am trying to catch up on old videos. Very interesting, love the videos. Who knew I would be learning and seeing your Russia.
Thanks for sharing ... good information. subbed. Wait ...did I just see packs of tortillas at 6:47 my mission foods LOL :D ... who would ever think? The Dollar stores in the US are great everyone goes there and they have a good selection of snacks and more. Good to see ... I plan to visit your city in the spring and it is nice to see what it's like there.
What a great store, the prices were very low. We have several of these type stores here in the US that I like to shop at. Thanks for sharing, and have a great week!
fumasterchu12 we have those stores in England,£1shops,,pound world ,poundland but they are starting to sell, more expensive things if you spend over £10 ,get XXX for £3
Thank you so much to take the time to go shopping. for us so we may know how shopping is done in your country and also price comparison between USA and Russia. Really appreciate it. Los Angeles.
Nice video Thanks. Food and mall videos are good, but could you make a video about some shops that sell different stuff, for example; if you go to special event or celebrations and wanted to wear traditional Russian costume, (including kokoshnik) where would you go to buy such clothes? Also maybe second hand (used) Russian Antique shops, maybe, army surplus shop where you could buy Russian army jacket or such stuff (maybe not of interest to the ladies). Just some ideas. Thanks.
Most likely there's no way to buy kokoshnik in antique shop. Real ancient kokoshniks was worn before 18 century, its all in museums now. Replicas of traditional Russian costume available online and in theatrical/carnival shops.
This is very well stuffed dollar store. Items looking higher quality then in similar stores in US or Canada, for a price. Also I like beer selection, not available in America dollar stores. Before you passed grocery store with impressive selection of cheese and cold cuts, especially sausages. Nice video and pretty sunset outdoor.
Love the fixed priced shops in Moscow! Great place to buy things like toothpaste, etc. However one must carefully check expiration dates before purchasing.
One thing I notice where money is devalued, its always best to buy products of own home countries products, since they are priced within that money devalue; cause imported products from big corporations in the US or europe, they will be costly since they are adjusted to $$$ current value.
Yes, still early by our standards :) As usually, some shops may work till very late. The Magnit department store where I live works from 7 AM to 1 AM, although that is a bit too extreme.
That's right. I make it a point to visit Fix Price whenever I am in Russia. It's good that you showed everything about this shop in this informative video. Thank you :)
Stella, WOW. It gets everywhere!! These international Companies product packaging is the same! Good quality Video! LOL, you will be investing in a Stabilisation stick more money it is a youtube quest. The Same shop called £ pound land in the UK. or a super saver?
5:25 yeah, America! We love learning about other cultures differences and most importantly similarities. We are all in this together after all. Keep up the great videos, very interesting how alike we really are. Rumerica.??? Since we truly are better together!
These shops are the same world wide lol, we in Australia call them 2 dollar shops. Just shows you take away the languages and all same. Keep up the great vids, luv them. Greetings from Australia.
Many Russian supermarkets don't carry items like can openers or kitchen knives. I was able to find such items at a Fixed Price shop in my Moscow region.
That's a good shop and I see a lot of the exact items as in the stores here in Wisconsin. The exact same brands. Oh, Sony should pay you a commission. Today I bought a camera the same as yours. I was going to buy a GoPro but bought the Sony because you are so happy with yours. Now I just need to learn to take good videos like you do. Thanks. :-)
Bentcypress7 Dollar stores are good place to make handmade teacher gift for kids. Dollar Stores in Canada aren't as cheap like in the States, but Salvation Army Thrift Stores have more people buy from them because it's cheaper.
You are so rite leave the politics out. I have learned so much how our lives parallels each other if not for your videos we would not know this so keep these great videos coming!!👍
Thank you for another interesting video. I wondered if Russia had a Dollar Tree type store...looks like the same items we have in ours. Well, except for the beer...wish we had that !
Hmm not exactly a $1 store but a $1.50 one ! Here In the UK many many such £1 stores here called poundland Poundstore poundworld etc. Now with self service even
About currency in Russia, for example in Moscow there are many money exchange offices where you can change your currency; dollars or euros to roubles. On electronicboards they give you the exchange rate so you can choose what exchange office is more profitable for you. As always I just love your videos
Different Russia I’m also Russian living in the U.S. and I enjoy your videos so much! Very warm and kind videos to watch at the end of the day. Thank you
Hi Valerie. Nameste👏. My name is Vijay Kumar and I am from India. I like your channel different Russia. This is a very good effort to show inside of Russia. When I watch your channel on TH-cam I rapt in it n feel as if I am personally present there. Please keep it up. You have a very clear ascent and you explain the things very intimatly. By watching your channel, some time it invites me to visit there. I will soon be visiting there. Thanks
I think it’s so kool to see Russia like you show in your videos!!! I see some products that are same label as what we have but are dollar stores don’t sell beer 🍺 !
This Vid is great , to see first hand the verity of product offed in Russian stores , would put some Australian supper markets to shame . Thank you for a informative video .
These stores remind me of the Euro store, 100 Yen store, Dollar Tree, US Dollar (India), etc and I really do like them, especially when traveling and I forgot some necessity or ran out. It's good to see them in Russia and I can't believe they have Stella Artois!😲
How hard is it for tourists to bring back both food and non food items? There are so many great things to buy in all of your stores. As long as it is not something like a bag or oranges, etc. is it OK. We have dogs at airports that sniff for agricultural items so I wouldn't want to take anything out of Russia that is not allowed. Is there an amount in dollars of items that you can take back home.? Do you recommend that we bring all of the receipts with us? I speak for everyone- We love your videos and have never had an opportunity to learn about the Russia today.. I know more than my friends and I am just learning. I am ashamed that all of this great information has been kept from us.
I have never bought candy at the dollar store but will buy cleaners, small plastic bowls , containers and some inexpensive plastic kitchen items. I also buy greeting cards there. I hate spending almost five dollars for a card someone will throw away.
I like sofar what I see from Russia. Where I live in the USA there are many Russian that come here. I don't know why. When looking at your videos it seems really nice.
Hi! I am lucky enough to be travelling to Moscow next year for a weeks holiday so I would be very interested in finding out what kind of budget I would need! We have a similar kind of store in the UK where everything is £1. They are very popular as they tend to be cheaper on many items than the big supermarkets. Love the channel and keep up the good work!!
If I understood you correctly, you said that that store closes at around 7PM. As you know from your travels here, America has many shops that stay open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year (some do close on certain holidays, like Christmas, for one), Does Russia also have such places? I have the impression that you do not; that people there know when it's time to go home to bed.
I don't know if you're American or not, but if you are, you must have noticed that even in small towns, there is often at least one store that stays open 24 hours. But you're right; big cities ALWAYS have them.
Of course, Moscow and other big cities have 24/7 stores. But small towns have not. I can even tell that in some Europe countries many shops are closed on Sundays. Most of russian ones work everyday.
Malaria your this video was really good. Please do also share the options of stay in Moscow at hostels. I know few hostels offer hotel like accommodation in Russia. They r also very cheap in prices as compare to hotels.
In the fixed-price store, I was surprised to see how many of the packaged good were brands familiar to me, being from the United States. My daughter visited China recently and bought a package of "Cheetos." She reported that they were not the same Cheetos she bought at home, but there were some similarities. So I wonder what's actually in those packages that look so familiar. It would be fun to compare if I ever get to Russia.
Thanks for this video, the dollar tree stores in Austin texas are not always so clean and neat. I noticed the Halloween vamprire in the store. I would like to see a video about how to travel in Russia!!!
Your shopping mall is very upscale. Surprised you have dollar trees stores. In my area in USA we have plenty of them. They are popular here too. Their prices are reasonable here too. Seems they survive and expand while many of the higher price stores do not.

Fred, you're a hoot, as always!
In Canada we have dollar stores called Dollarama, Dollar Tree. Canadians love going to these stores. they are more affordable
And Dollar Store With More.
Affordable for poor or greedy Canadians. Cheap because based on slave labour, child exploitation, unpaid prisoner labour. Canadians don’t give a damn about suffering of others as long as their convenience remains untouched. That is real Canada.

Nice video Thanks. thank you Ghaida :) welcome
Quite a surprise to me to see many products are sold under English language brand names. Very interesting thank you.
Love the fixed priced shops in Moscow! Great place to buy things like toothpaste, etc. However one must carefully check expiration dates before purchasing.

That dollar store is Amazing! I have always wanted to visit Russia, maybe somewhere in Siberia or Southern Russia.
This is in Apelsin Shopping Centre. Fix Price works from 8 AM to 7 PM. Many shops in Russia close early, it is a good work culture :)
usually shops work till 9 pm
Yes, still early by our standards :) As usually, some shops may work till very late. The Magnit department store where I live works from 7 AM to 1 AM, although that is a bit too extreme.

Great video! We would be interested in seeing a video discussing the prices of how much to pay for food and hotels.
U could Google hotels in Moscow as an example and see how much

I'm in California usa, our "fixed price" or dollar stores used to be$1. They went up to $1.25 usd
much better value there on items then at the $ tree here in Canada! paka, devoochka!
Paka devochka 😁😁😁
I believe the correct term is "Dollar Store. " Dollar Tree is the specific name of a franchise.
This Vid is great , to see first hand the verity of product offed in Russian stores , would put some Australian supper markets to shame . Thank you for a informative video .
the way you explained is simply goood :-)
I'm from el salvador but I live in sweden. I love your videos !!
EXACTLY like Dollar Tree in USA. You've been to USA I'm guessing? I say this because you knew name "Dollar Tree."
I have never bought candy at the dollar store but will buy cleaners, small plastic bowls , containers and some inexpensive plastic kitchen items. I also buy greeting cards there. I hate spending almost five dollars for a card someone will throw away.
I am from India. I love your country Russia
Great place to shop before a long train trip in Russia
Americans are used to pay everything with cards, but all european countries prefer cash. That's a smal advice.
01:51 Why the small benches/chairs in front of the food counter, Please?
That's a dollar tree for sure!! Thanks
I like sofar what I see from Russia. Where I live in the USA there are many Russian that come here. I don't know why. When looking at your videos it seems really nice.
Very small salary in Russia. About 200 dollars a month
Mission brand tortillas...such a familiar sight. :)
I'm curious do y'all use coupons? Better quality than here. This channel is the best.
This is much bigger than Toronto Canada. However we have hundreds of these stores in the city.
Beatiful country , i love your video ,
Hey wonderful videos its really really nice and I would really appreciate if you can make a video on winder clothes prices!!!! Thanks in advance
Ha, I love your line about "when it's time to go to bed" :D
There are 24hrs shop every where in the world I guess, but especially in big cities. People don't sleep in big cities. And they enjoy it.
Very nice... thanks my sister
Your shopping mall is very upscale. Surprised you have dollar trees stores. In my area in USA we have plenty of them. They are popular here too. Their prices are reasonable here too. Seems they survive and expand while many of the higher price stores do not.
I used to go to the 99 cent store regularly a while back. Not everything was 99 cents.
