Herbert von Karajan - The Early Lucerne Years (Lucerne Festival Historic Performances Vol. XIX)

Herbert von Karajan at the Strebi residence, 1951, captured on 8mm film by Walter Strebi (who became President of the Lucerne Festival in1953), entrusted to Erich Singer for digitization in his private archive by Ursula Jones.
Seen alongside Karajan: Mrs. Maria Strebi (seated) and, as speculated, Karajan's then-second wife, Anna Maria ("Anita") Gütermann.
In September 2023, audite celebrates its 50th label anniversary and its 10-year cooperation with Lucerne Festival with a comprehensive Karajan box set! ‘Herbert von Karajan - The Early Lucerne Years’ is the latest addition to the recording series "Lucerne Festival Historic Performances".
For the first time, this edition makes available Herbert von Karajan's previously unreleased early live recordings from the Lucerne Festival, made in a decade during which Karajan was rebuilding his career. Included are legendary soloists such as Clara Haskil and Géza Anda, Robert Casadesus and Nathan Milstein.
