    If you want to put in different Arty Units in Command Support Arty, the names to place in the module (like "O_T_MBT_02_arty_ghex_F" which is an Opfor Arty piece) can be found at community.bistudio.com/wiki/Arma_3:_CfgVehicles_EAST (Opfor). On this same page, there is a link to the names for West (Blufor) vehicles. You need to have the right arty/vehicles for the side one is playing on. It was tricky to find where these designations were located.

    Used this to create a Bit of a single player storyline following a Group of Mercs made up of Both Ctrg and Vipers lead By a Ex KGB Colonel, who Has a Corrupt NATO element try to take them out, and It resulted in a Awesome moment with The Mercs winning via using a Tac nuke, That was Delivered to the Enemy carrier via Boat...
    Those men didn't know what they were transporting

      Thanks Rodrigo. Yes you can get the AI commander to do this, but you will need to sync any hand-placed unit to the virtual AI system not the AI commander.

    Nice set of tuts. I know you did them two years ago but I'm interested to know just how stable Alive is in your opinion - and have they added an end or win state to their framework yet - or does it still require a zeus user to manually trigger the end?

    I've been playing around with ALiVE for a while but i've noticed the vanilla AI leaves a lot to be desired. I know some AI Mods work well with ALiVE and others have some conflicts. Do you happen to have any suggestions on what mod to implement in my missions?

      ASRAI and VCOM are both good options and in my experience work well with ALIVE.

    Does anyone know if you can use a plane as CAS (for example an A-10) or only helicopters and if it does work should i put the module at the start of the runway or at a taxiway so it can taxi to said runway?

    Your video's that you've done for the modules, what's the difference between SP and MP as in settings of the mods, how do the correspond to MP. It would be good to see this being done as I'm close to getting my server setup.

      There is a key to do that. By default it is the windows key but you may need to change it depending on your keyboard layout. Might be worth checking you addons key config in ARMA3 settings.

    Great tutorials , hopefully you can help me, ive got a mission set up with alive combat support, all works, when i put in vehicles in eden editor i have to manually put them to unlock, they are on default and locked, when i put in alive transport, i cant get into the chopper theres not even an option to get in,
    Is there a way to change this

    Great videos they've been really helpful so far. I've got a couple questions I hope you can answer.
    1. Can I use multiple same side factions? I linked two separate factions to one commander and it crashed but if I use two commanders would it work?
    2. For modded units how can you find out what the vehicles are called since obviously they aren't using their in-game name? IE Canadian forces, British, US
    3. Is there a way to make units that spawn playable? I don't want the mission to end just because I die and I rather avoid putting too many idle unit swaps due to potential memory issues.
    4. I'm having some issues with the AI not seeing each other. I'm having enemy forces walking right by each other vocally recognizing each other but not fighting. Some times they fight most often they just stroll past each other. Is it because I told them to ignore small objectives or maybe because the AI commander for BLUFOR is synced to Milobjs of OPFOR?
    5. OPFOR are spawning in BLUFOR area, I know I can blacklist to prevent this but I read that also stops them from targeting objectives in the area.

      1. You cannot links two different sides to the same AI commander. 1 AI commander for each one
      2. If you right click on the unit and click View in Asset viewer you should be able to find the class name
      3. Take a look into the C2IStar module on their wiki. I think you can do this.
      4. Make sure that under the mission settings that you have set the correct relationships between BLUFOR OPFOR and GREEN units. If OPFOR is not against GREEN faction units then obviously they will not be aggressive to each other.
      4. This means you must have made a mistake with the syncing or the faction names somewhere. If you think this is bug it might be worth raising it as an issue on the ALIVE forum. Some very friendly and knowledgable people there who will be delighted to help.

      Appreciate the help. I will look into C2ISTAR and the asset viewer, had no idea. While I've used mods since OPF this is the first heavy scripted one I am using. Glad I found it over starting scripting myself so I can realize how much can go wrong even when the scripts come pre-scripted. lol
      The same mission that was semi-working yesterday now won't work at all. I think I'll have an extensive look on the help forum.

      Thanks. Do keep going. The combination of the wiki and forum usually will help you figure out what is going wrong. Also sometimes things just go badly wrong for some reason with the syncing and you need to start again with the mission .This has happened to me a few times.

      Thanks Tyler. Yes, absolutely. They will capture and hold the zones you setup. If you set it up right with adjacent enemy and friendly zones then you will have a frontline setup.

    would be great if you could do an insurgency tutorial. I'm pretty sure I've got the hang of most of it but it's good to see it from another perspective to see if I am doing anything wrong. and a quick question. is there any way I can control all the units at a strategic level without interference from the Ai commander? I've tried it before but the commander has other ideas......:/

      Hi Jack. You nailed it. This is exactly the next tutorial on my list. With regard to controlling friendly units you should take a look at the C2ISTAR module, this is a set of tools that allows players to use Command & Control, uncluding bossing around (and view camera feeds) from AI controller units!

      I've followed that tutorial thanks, which is partly the reason I think I have the hang of it. So is C2ISTAR an override for the Ai commander? I've tried doing it with other command mods while playing so if it is an override it would kinda make sense because the other mods didn't work out

      Yes it can be. It can also autogenerate missions for the players. I have it on my schedule for this afternoon to record and show off all the features.

    This is great tutorial im trying to make a map that my unit can use to train on different vehicles and weapon systems but with live fire combat zones around that we can go test things in. How do i have randomly generated missions and how can i make enemie factions have a CAP so there can be some air to fighting if i wanted. Idk if its in a coming video but maybe you can help or point me in the right direction.

      You can certainly do that by setting up military placement zones in certain areas of the map under control of a military AI commander. You could even add CQB to those zone to practice some house clearing. I shall be doing another video soon on the C2ISTAR module that allows for autogeneration of missions. The air to air fighting module is still a work in progress and should be coming to the next version of a alive - a sneak peak of how it works is available here - alivemod.com/forum/3042-alive-military-air-component-commander-tutorial. Obviously you will need to manually place all the playable units for your community, as well as the static vehicles and weapon systems that you want to test. Hope this is helpful. If you need more advice I highly recommend that ALIVE forum, some much more experienced ALIVE experts on there who are always happy to give advice (alivemod.com/forum/)

      i have everything working for the most part the only thing im getting is that the factions have too many objectives and that they need to be lowered to at least 80 from 327

      Yes, this will happen to you a lot when making ALIVE missions. You need to decrease the number of potential objectives that the AI commander has to keep track off. The best way to do this is to either reduce the number of zones/military placement modules under his (or her) control, or play around with each module so that the AI in the only targets medium sized targets.

      Yes, my apologies, I am very new to recording gameplay for TH-cam. Still learning the basics. Random and dynamic objectives can be created using the C2ISTAR module.     Great video! Is there any way to customize the gear of your AI teammates if you want to make a custom single player mission with just a small AI squad.

      Yes absolutely. Just add the each AI to your squad in the editor (place each unit next to your character). You then right click on each of them and go to 'Edit their loadout', once the arsenal you can set them up with any gear that you want.
