Yeah, started a game in the light chinese tier 7 crusier and got 1 shot by the rockets… Tho its among the lightest, still is ridicolues I think most other classes will be played less duo to the carriers and matchmaking bullshit, personally i just abandoned the game, maybe others enjoy being targeted by this thing etc But i wouldnt be suprised if WoW see a steep drop from today player base in a months time

It's a one-trick pony, and the trick is that it can one-shot lonely afk light cruisers that are broadside on... which means it can do what every other ship with AP shells can do in the same situation.
06Wallst made a very good point in WoT years ago: There is an important distinction between Overpowered and Broken. He was referring to artillery as a class, that some are pretty pathetic, but the way they are played makes them broken. Some ships are overpowered, some are broken, and some are both.

@@HashMyth Exactly my thoughts. Most veteran players have all the better ships and don't need more without them making crazy new ships like this. If they lose them they already got their money in the past. If they push any of them to purchase new things to "keep up" then they win. The only thing that can stop this is for enough of the player base to stop playing that they can't fill queues anymore. This is one reason they recently announced the bot changes
@@theguru143 exactly, though the bots are for making the grind even harder for the PvE players. Think about it, you can do 2 to 3 Co-Op battles to 1 PvP. I've been playing PvE only on my epic games account and it's way easier to grind due to the AI being so predictable. I see the bot change as a slap to get PvE players to buy better ships because of how easy you can dodge and how often the AI aim is horrible with shots.
Remember, WoWS is a digital shopping mall/storefront with a thinly veiled naval theme. The premium CV rack is a crowded space and they want these new products to move. Internally this is probably just item # 1234 and is hitting its sales targets.

I did not think the Colossus was going to be that terrifying. From watching WG's introduction video, I thought it would be the British version of an American Jeep carrier mostly based on sub and bomber protection for convoys.

People complain that CVs don't target each other. WG introduces a CV that's pretty much a dedicated CV sniper ... and people complain. There is literally no making you people happy.

It can not be the solution to make money for WG to bring out broken ships like this CV or the buffed K1 sub. The game will die eventually if they continue with this BS. And they will. Last red flag will be when they put out all the "banned" ships again. Like Kuto. If they do it, we know its over.
This is the model, make a broken ship that dominates, then introduce something to combat it when sales start to drop. Watch a AA heavy boat come into game within a few months, then all the players with this CV will complain that they can't one shot anything because the planes are shredded to dust in AA fire. Lather, rinse, repeat, profit 📈

As much as I enjoy CVs. I will NOT deny this is just way too OP. We Honestly need more CVs that go like the Germans. Weak planes in survival. But strong secondaries. Force CVs to work to earn the kills. But do give them a breather when a DD is near by. Flailing about is fun.
Flamu did a great video on the Russian Sub buff. Veteran players are leaving this game in large numbers. The slow death march of this game makes me laugh.

He was already pissed off by the many CVs added to game recently, but the mere mention of submarines in randoms was the last nail on the coffin for him.
i got this ship yesterday, i almost had a game with it just to get through a couple of missions, but for some reason i just can't bring myself to play cv's, or subs and hybrids for that matter, even though i have them all, just having them in my fleet kinda makes me feel like a bit of a cheater, does anyone else get that or should i just find a new game to play? love the content though mate, keep up the good work👍
I just got into the game after about a year break and have been having fun but boy oh boy are they trying to ruin it with subs and cvs. luckily its not every match but when it happens its rage inducing, and it is fairly often
Hahahahahahaha I only play this game for Clan Battles anymore. I havent touched randoms in almost a year. It started with the CV rework making cv 10x more common in every match. Then every nation getting supercruisers then superships and then subs. I went from spending regularly on prem time and containers to not spending a dime on this game. Wont be long until I just leave wows for good.
I got one in like my third bundle. No need to go further as they start to get expensive fast. This is a good cv. I didn't see it as op and I got some good drops with the rockets but not that good. They are F4U corsairs. They turn on a dime.
Colossus on Colossus violence is not an option, it's aparant, every game I played with that thing so far, was against another Colossus and it was always about who can kill the other dude faster :D I don't really feel like this CV will be a big deal in the long run, the german AP strikes were a huge topic after release too, but people got used to them , they know they have to angle to avoid getting nuked and that's how it's going to be with this ship as well. Kaga and Chkalov are both vastly superior T8 Carriers and they will stay dominant.
and that is the reason im not buying prem or dubs anymore in this game, i dont play randoms, i dont play clan battles since 2 years now too, the game went to complete shit, nowadays the only semi enjoyable mode is rankeds with smaller teams, other than that the game is close to being unplayable for f2p player
I can agree, full ship deletion is a bit much. But at the same time. If you just present a perfect target to the carrier and do nothing to not let him eat your broadside. You deserve to get punished. The Weser can do the same shit (I know cause I’ve done it, though it relies a tad more on RNG to get a good spread) There’s also the same time this is very gimmicky. Def needs to be toned down, but gimmicks where 1 squadron is god and the other two are meh is….. just bad. Each should have a proper purpose not just one being what you want to use 80% of the time I have a lot of things to say about carriers in the game. I’m a carrier main myself. Are they perfect and balanced. I’d have to say no. Are they as bad as some people say they are. Maybe at times, but I just don’t personally see it. I’ve never had a massive issue with carriers, yes they can be annoying if you want to do something and it cock blocks you but a carriers job is to push players into positions they do not want to be in and T them up for their team. Things like the super CVs I find hell, those jets are stupid and absolutely unfair. Same goes for the Soviet line where they can strike from outside AA range. Hell I once dropped a 9 kill game in my Serov doing 161K damage, with doing at least 50% damage to each person I killed. Yes I absolutely earned that by playing like a gigabrain, but at the same time, I should not have gotten away with it in the way I did, any other carrier I would’ve had a 6 kill game around 120K in the same situation. Soviet carriers need to be nerfed into the ground, or have their one and done drop done away with I also find hybrid ships to be an issue. The Ise is fun as a shitpost gimmick and something that existed but can we just not with the rest of them. Main changes I want to see to CVs. One remove all the “auto” stuff. We aren’t helpless if you can’t manage our own resources you shouldn’t play the class. I should be able to manually throw depth charge planes, manually launch my own fighters, and manually use my own damage control. Second remove the fighter consumable. Replace it with an RTS fighter (or several) that you can send around the lap to guard areas, giving the CVs some proper counter play against each other and a role to play as support for their teams. You could do the same thing with the depth charge planes. As for AA…. Eh personally I don’t think it’s terrible like everyone things it is. If your off by yourself you shouldn’t have the AA to fight off entire strikes, generally you’ll get 2 to 4 planes depending on what ship your in if he attacks you once or twice, again depending on your own AA set up. the AA ships like Atlanta, Austin, nevesky, and a few others already inflict such devastating damage to squadrons in the long run they are plenty effective. Which I feel reins true to how things could play out in real life. If a lil ol ship by itself and 10 planes attack it it might get a couple, but that’s beside the point. Even if there’s a bubble of 4 ships and they “somehow” break through, but lose their entire squadron in the first place. Assuming you didn’t get detonated, a small chunk of HP I think is an equal trade for a full squadron, especially in the early game. Sure most carriers over the first 5 or so minutes can somehwat recover from that loss, but they never truly will, and any subsequent mistakes or just loss of many planes has a massively profound impact on their ability to exert influence on a match. A CV is only as good as it’s ability to field squadrons.

I think calling this thing broken is a gross overreaction. You’re only going to be one shotting things with the rockets if the targets are complete bozos that dont react at all to the planes coming their way, and at that point they deserve it. Hell,in the vid you even say the rest of the ship is mediocre at best and you’re only one shotting distracted drivers so the number of morons calling it “MORE BROKEN THAN MALTA” in the comments astounds me.

Flak bursts are a good counter to this, though not for the reason you think... but you need a ship (or multiple ships) with flak bursts maxed out. Once flak bursts hit a certain magic number, they blind the cv player for several seconds moments before attacking, and even if the planes dodge them, it makes it very hard to accurately land rockets or torpedoes on anything not turning at glacial speeds.. (like light cruisers) Oh, and there is no mod to counteract flak blinding as far as I know...
I wonder why WarGaming has yet to add Akagi to the game? I sense they are missing a good opportunity because I am sure many people would want to platoon up with one driving the Amagi, another driving the Kaga, and the third driving the Akagi if Wargaming added the Japanese aircraft carrier Akagi.

I was in a ranked battle in my chaklov and even before 5 minutes into the match the enemy colossus sends out his AP rocket squadron and from full health I went down to just 7K in just one attack.
If playing CV I always lock secondaries on a DD if they are stalking me. Has to be done between launches but does seem to work. Then if they do get within range while the planes are away they still get hammered. (seems the way)
Seems like these developers never learn from their mistakes, probably because they seldom, if ever, listen to their customers and/or play their own game and simply prioritize money above all else. Ark Royal in Legends is also a broken premium carrier that can nuke everything at will with little to no risk to the carrier player, assuming he's not a total bot.
WG intends to keep doing crazy things like this. Many players have played long enough that they already have the "best" ships in the game and no need to purchase more. If they do things like this is makes them purchase more stuff to stay competitive. It's underhanded and despicable, but it's intended if you ask me. They will only stop if people stop playing instead of spending more money
I'm convinced, they have to release ships this way to fill in the blanks on the spreadsheet; i doubt the ship will stay this way. Prolly need more ST, and i doubt enough people play on test server to get proper results. I know, i know - it's WG, i shouldnt give them the benefit of the doubt, but this is the only thing I can come up with.

I normally just ignore rocket planes , when I am in a cruiser. It is not worth giving broad side to battleship. But with this thing on the seas, one will have to learn to dodge.
This is beyond Ridiculous. I think if i'm lower Tier! and see one of these in the line up on the other team, i'll AFK and just do OP's for a few matches to burn the pink off. If they become a plague time to take a long break from this game.. as many players have done recently, given all the corrupt to game play additions. Need to remove CV abilities to Citadel or at best 1 max per minute, useful in two CV games when you're focused on and DFAA is always down for one strike at least sigh... Same with torps, non citadel and non tracking torps with, additional defense for the attacked ship not waste something used to stop fires... or flooding... stopping torps using this is lame not accurate and worst of all just dang out wright lazy. A new consumable Degauss, to take the charge off the hull and stop torps. If there was a degauss consumable, able to remove magnetic influences, there was irl to prevent magnetic mines, at a stretch in game could stop torps some of which had a magnetic detonator, arcade game style. A degauss at the right time would be a skill shot, at least a chance to evade the detonation of torps and if successful, the equivalent of a shell hitting a torp belt hit in scoring. You're already trying to watch for planes and subs and other torps and trying to aim, let alone have BS walk right up to your face and slap you ded, right back into port. As for what could be crazier the fools at WeeGee making a CV with Torps tracking with a 5km drop range.. Ede-iots!!

since WG screwed me out of a £2k bug bounty for fixing the coal shop issue for them (requests for page were going to an ip. response was coming from a different ip. a good firewall blocks that kind of traffic. thus the page never loaded. hell, they wouldn't even give me any consumable flags for the week i spent teaching their lead network engineer how to do his job) i've not given a crap about this game. this gives me more reasons to not care
Why would a CV need ANY armor, or speed? CVs only die 1 out of 100 games. Even if all CVs only had 1hp, and 0 armor, they would be just as BS as they are now.
I got Colossus for 75doubs and 200K free XP, quite unexpected drop. While I play CVs mostly just grind them for anniversary rewards or if some unavoidable mission, which is very rare, I tried luck for Colossus. I didn't know about those rockets to be that good. And yeah, that HE bombers aiming reticle is ridiculously huge, it looks like it got interface 2x scaling ratio by accident, but just that is looking attractive for both hands being left ones while playing CV. Btw I can already imagine that case when you end up vs Graf Zeppelin 1vs1 and need cap to win and team encouraged you to do it, because nothing bad can happen, as you still with big HP advantage, xd.
and here I thought FDR and Malta were dumb with how tanky/regenerative the aircraft were while doin heavy damage, I guess it wasn't bad enough as mountbatten says, holy shit

it is an interesting ship, like the Kaga this looks like an important ship to snipe early in the battle when possible.

It can not be the solution to make money for WG to bring out broken ships like this CV or the buffed K1 sub. The game will die eventually if they continue with this BS. And they will. Last red flag will be when they put out all the "banned" ships again. Like Kuto. If they do it, we know its over.

This is the model, make a broken ship that dominates, then introduce something to combat it when sales start to drop.
Watch a AA heavy boat come into game within a few months, then all the players with this CV will complain that they can't one shot anything because the planes are shredded to dust in AA fire.

We Honestly need more CVs that go like the Germans. Weak planes in survival. But strong secondaries. Force CVs to work to earn the kills. But do give them a breather when a DD is near by. Flailing about is fun.
Flamu did a great video on the Russian Sub buff. Veteran players are leaving this game in large numbers. The slow death march of this game makes me laugh.
There was a guy saying in the forums that the stats from the API show a decrease of 25-30% in the number of players in the last few months.
Unfortunately that will leave a lot of veteran toxic jerks probably which will make it all the worse.

@anthrax2413 I can believe that - EU closed beta player, and my friend list is empty most evenings. If I can find a friend or clan mate to play with we rarely play more than 5 in a session before frustration/rage/exasperation drive me to play something totally different

He was already pissed off by the many CVs added to game recently, but the mere mention of submarines in randoms was the last nail on the coffin for him.

i got this ship yesterday, i almost had a game with it just to get through a couple of missions, but for some reason i just can't bring myself to play cv's, or subs and hybrids for that matter, even though i have them all, just having them in my fleet kinda makes me feel like a bit of a cheater, does anyone else get that or should i just find a new game to play? love the content though mate, keep up the good work👍

I only play this game for Clan Battles anymore. I havent touched randoms in almost a year. It started with the CV rework making cv 10x more common in every match. Then every nation getting supercruisers then superships and then subs. I went from spending regularly on prem time and containers to not spending a dime on this game. Wont be long until I just leave wows for good.
I got one in like my third bundle. No need to go further as they start to get expensive fast. This is a good cv. I didn't see it as op and I got some good drops with the rockets but not that good. They are F4U corsairs. They turn on a dime.

Colossus on Colossus violence is not an option, it's aparant, every game I played with that thing so far, was against another Colossus and it was always about who can kill the other dude faster :D
I don't really feel like this CV will be a big deal in the long run, the german AP strikes were a huge topic after release too, but people got used to them , they know they have to angle to avoid getting nuked and that's how it's going to be with this ship as well. Kaga and Chkalov are both vastly superior T8 Carriers and they will stay dominant.

I can agree, full ship deletion is a bit much. But at the same time. If you just present a perfect target to the carrier and do nothing to not let him eat your broadside. You deserve to get punished. The Weser can do the same shit (I know cause I’ve done it, though it relies a tad more on RNG to get a good spread)
There’s also the same time this is very gimmicky. Def needs to be toned down, but gimmicks where 1 squadron is god and the other two are meh is….. just bad.
Each should have a proper purpose not just one being what you want to use 80% of the time
I have a lot of things to say about carriers in the game. I’m a carrier main myself. Are they perfect and balanced. I’d have to say no.
Are they as bad as some people say they are. Maybe at times, but I just don’t personally see it. I’ve never had a massive issue with carriers, yes they can be annoying if you want to do something and it cock blocks you but a carriers job is to push players into positions they do not want to be in and T them up for their team.
Things like the super CVs I find hell, those jets are stupid and absolutely unfair.
Same goes for the Soviet line where they can strike from outside AA range. Hell I once dropped a 9 kill game in my Serov doing 161K damage, with doing at least 50% damage to each person I killed. Yes I absolutely earned that by playing like a gigabrain, but at the same time, I should not have gotten away with it in the way I did, any other carrier I would’ve had a 6 kill game around 120K in the same situation. Soviet carriers need to be nerfed into the ground, or have their one and done drop done away with
I also find hybrid ships to be an issue. The Ise is fun as a shitpost gimmick and something that existed but can we just not with the rest of them.
Main changes I want to see to CVs. One remove all the “auto” stuff. We aren’t helpless if you can’t manage our own resources you shouldn’t play the class. I should be able to manually throw depth charge planes, manually launch my own fighters, and manually use my own damage control.
Second remove the fighter consumable. Replace it with an RTS fighter (or several) that you can send around the lap to guard areas, giving the CVs some proper counter play against each other and a role to play as support for their teams.
You could do the same thing with the depth charge planes.
As for AA…. Eh personally I don’t think it’s terrible like everyone things it is.
If your off by yourself you shouldn’t have the AA to fight off entire strikes, generally you’ll get 2 to 4 planes depending on what ship your in if he attacks you once or twice, again depending on your own AA set up. the AA ships like Atlanta, Austin, nevesky, and a few others already inflict such devastating damage to squadrons in the long run they are plenty effective.
Which I feel reins true to how things could play out in real life. If a lil ol ship by itself and 10 planes attack it it might get a couple, but that’s beside the point.
Even if there’s a bubble of 4 ships and they “somehow” break through, but lose their entire squadron in the first place. Assuming you didn’t get detonated, a small chunk of HP I think is an equal trade for a full squadron, especially in the early game.
Sure most carriers over the first 5 or so minutes can somehwat recover from that loss, but they never truly will, and any subsequent mistakes or just loss of many planes has a massively profound impact on their ability to exert influence on a match. A CV is only as good as it’s ability to field squadrons.

I think calling this thing broken is a gross overreaction. You’re only going to be one shotting things with the rockets if the targets are complete bozos that dont react at all to the planes coming their way, and at that point they deserve it. Hell,in the vid you even say the rest of the ship is mediocre at best and you’re only one shotting distracted drivers so the number of morons calling it “MORE BROKEN THAN MALTA” in the comments astounds me.

I did run into one of these and after he dropped me a couple of times, he gave up and went on to easier pray. I kick CVs asses and frustrate the hell out of them. I've tried to get the "how to" out to Jingles and others but to no avail! The old general AA ship positioning rules have changed "and" have been added to. Yes I'm a DD main, Cruisers can react "some" and BBs can't do much at all. There's where the CV OP stands out! They are OP I agree and tier 10 CVs are very OP but they still can't do much to me for what I've learned! There is a way to negate the puki-bastards but admittedly it is getting more and more difficult.

Flak bursts are a good counter to this, though not for the reason you think... but you need a ship (or multiple ships) with flak bursts maxed out.
Once flak bursts hit a certain magic number, they blind the cv player for several seconds moments before attacking, and even if the planes dodge them, it makes it very hard to accurately land rockets or torpedoes on anything not turning at glacial speeds.. (like light cruisers)
Oh, and there is no mod to counteract flak blinding as far as I know...

I wonder why WarGaming has yet to add Akagi to the game? I sense they are missing a good opportunity because I am sure many people would want to platoon up with one driving the Amagi, another driving the Kaga, and the third driving the Akagi if Wargaming added the Japanese aircraft carrier Akagi.

they do it so as to lose fewer planes/bring enough to do one full strike with a few planes reserve if a plane gets shot down
I was in a ranked battle in my chaklov and even before 5 minutes into the match the enemy colossus sends out his AP rocket squadron and from full health I went down to just 7K in just one attack.
If playing CV I always lock secondaries on a DD if they are stalking me. Has to be done between launches but does seem to work. Then if they do get within range while the planes are away they still get hammered. (seems the way)

I got very lucky when I was playing against Colossus, becasue he didnt use rocket. I just now got to know that they are busted.
Seems like these developers never learn from their mistakes, probably because they seldom, if ever, listen to their customers and/or play their own game and simply prioritize money above all else. Ark Royal in Legends is also a broken premium carrier that can nuke everything at will with little to no risk to the carrier player, assuming he's not a total bot.
So what was the point of nerfing the German cv like if they were going let this new cv do this.
WG intends to keep doing crazy things like this. Many players have played long enough that they already have the "best" ships in the game and no need to purchase more. If they do things like this is makes them purchase more stuff to stay competitive. It's underhanded and despicable, but it's intended if you ask me. They will only stop if people stop playing instead of spending more money

I'm convinced, they have to release ships this way to fill in the blanks on the spreadsheet; i doubt the ship will stay this way. Prolly need more ST, and i doubt enough people play on test server to get proper results. I know, i know - it's WG, i shouldnt give them the benefit of the doubt, but this is the only thing I can come up with.

I normally just ignore rocket planes , when I am in a cruiser. It is not worth giving broad side to battleship. But with this thing on the seas, one will have to learn to dodge.

I think if i'm lower Tier! and see one of these in the line up on the other team, i'll AFK and just do OP's for a few matches to burn the pink off.
If they become a plague time to take a long break from this game.. as many players have done recently, given all the corrupt to game play additions.
Need to remove CV abilities to Citadel or at best 1 max per minute, useful in two CV games when you're focused on and DFAA is always down for one strike at least sigh...
Same with torps, non citadel and non tracking torps with, additional defense for the attacked ship not waste something used to stop fires... or flooding... stopping torps using this is lame not accurate and worst of all just dang out wright lazy.
A new consumable Degauss, to take the charge off the hull and stop torps.
If there was a degauss consumable, able to remove magnetic influences, there was irl to prevent magnetic mines, at a stretch in game could stop torps some of which had a magnetic detonator, arcade game style.
A degauss at the right time would be a skill shot, at least a chance to evade the detonation of torps and if successful, the equivalent of a shell hitting a torp belt hit in scoring.
You're already trying to watch for planes and subs and other torps and trying to aim, let alone have BS walk right up to your face and slap you ded, right back into port.
As for what could be crazier the fools at WeeGee making a CV with Torps tracking with a 5km drop range.. Ede-iots!!

since WG screwed me out of a £2k bug bounty for fixing the coal shop issue for them (requests for page were going to an ip. response was coming from a different ip. a good firewall blocks that kind of traffic. thus the page never loaded. hell, they wouldn't even give me any consumable flags for the week i spent teaching their lead network engineer how to do his job) i've not given a crap about this game. this gives me more reasons to not care
Why would a CV need ANY armor, or speed? CVs only die 1 out of 100 games. Even if all CVs only had 1hp, and 0 armor, they would be just as BS as they are now.
I got Colossus for 75doubs and 200K free XP, quite unexpected drop.
While I play CVs mostly just grind them for anniversary rewards or if some unavoidable mission, which is very rare, I tried luck for Colossus.
I didn't know about those rockets to be that good.
And yeah, that HE bombers aiming reticle is ridiculously huge, it looks like it got interface 2x scaling ratio by accident, but just that is looking attractive for both hands being left ones while playing CV.
Btw I can already imagine that case when you end up vs Graf Zeppelin 1vs1 and need cap to win and team encouraged you to do it, because nothing bad can happen, as you still with big HP advantage, xd.
