Everytime I went close, the board would, ahem, "invest" them for the future, and 200mil would just disappear. Then I am back at 1bil. This is in addition to the taxes from profits and so on. Maybe they bought NFTs or something. I also didnt bother to check on interest profits or even the finance screen. Think it's Arsene Wenger's legendary words - "I am a football manager, not a bank manager."😅
@@jayhuahua as a game grows over decades, certain default values are no longer valid (perhaps because of tech advances, etc) but yet they are not so important in the grand scheme of things so they are simply forgotten ... Also remembered that the attendance (at least locally) does take the region's population into account. A 100,000pax stadium in a town of 5000 doesnt make sense, for example. 😅 As always, it's always a combination of conditions that ultimately produces something in FM. A cap of 150,000 ultimately seems very reasonable in real life terms.

Seems like every sim, whenever the clubs comes into money (Cups, player sales), ownership takes the money and deposits into some "capital growth fund" For example, immediately after promotion, to the Premier League - a Spanish club offered $25 Million for one of my players. As the player was already 28, and had peaked at 140/140, ownership wanted me to sell, and bring in younger players. Sold the player. Shortly after, received a message in the inbox that ownership set $15 million aside for a "capital growth fund", that $7 million was going towards club finances, and that $3 million would be made available for Transfers. Maybe, Scunthorpe's management was constantly "investing" that money in ownership funds, and not reinvesting the money in the club?

I'm still watching so you may have worked this out already but there is a soft cap of 150k, the in-game editor doesn't let you raise it above that and may explain the weird ground maintenance fees? Edit: Just got to your realisation of them building a new stadium 😅 The soft cap is definitely responsible for that, soz Jay.
