So Tonbridge apparently has a population of 41,000 and the whole district of Tonbridge and Malling has a population of 132,000... In other words, every single person in the district (plus about 10,000 from outside) show up to every single one of the teams games in this experiment. That's a team that is welcomed by its community! 🤣
8:11 Jesus Christ forest became a powerhouse here. Obviously over time in FM new clubs start dominating the prem, but I wasn’t expecting it to happen so soon (under 20 seasons)
Nothingham usually has a higher reputation than clubs of the same level of play in FM DB's, because they have won 2 Champions Cups. Also the size of the agglomeration matters in FM for the club development. A bigger agglomeration is - more talented youth would be signed and there's more room for attendance. And in Nottingham agglomeration 1+ millions of people live.
with 46 league games each season in the lower divisions that's 23 home games, so a total of 41.400.000 per season. And this does not include potential cup matches or the league play offs in some seasons, it also doesn't include any friendlies. If we included those things we could easily go above the 50 milion mark in some seasons.
@@adrian225 get into a league with teams that have a good away following and all of a sudden, you get almost 2m each home game from ticket sales. Let alone merchandise sales.
Tonbridge fan here - loved the vid! Followed the club home and away for years now, hate the fact Maidstone followed us up to the championship though :/😂
As one of the current 1,000 Tonbridge fans - absolutely loved this! Only thing less realistic than Longmead being a 150,000 seater is us winning the FA Cup... we almost always lose our first Cup game to lower-league opposition ☠
I have a 5 star 19 year old goalie playing in the Prem. He's on £2,200 per week because I signed him when we were still in League 2 when he was 17 and he's on a 5 year contract.
Just reminded me one of my best saves Fm13 or Fm14 I took Tonbridge all the way to the top and I stopped the save after winning everything and build a stadium with my name on it 😎
Love to see my local team getting some love lmao, but I gotta say... as someone who not only works at the club but has supported them for a while, we get around 800-1200 fans coming to every game... so uh... yeah.
It's funny how Maidstone join Tonbridge on their ascent up the leagues and that can only be for two reasons. 1. The remaining fans Kent can't get tickets to Tonbridge so opt for Maidstone and they fill their stadium (far smaller) every week too 2. Wolves sold Kilman in and the sell on clause gave them a nice chunk of money and they spent it wisely. Which is much to be said for Tonbridge's expenditure
Was interesting to see Maidstone join Tonbridge up the leagues to the championship, the only NLS team to reach that high consistently!! These are big local rivals in Kent, would Maidstone have benefitted from the larger stadium, stadium share maybe? Very interesting 🤣
The Longmead Stadium is built on the edge of a park and neighbours farmland on the other side, so the Angels actually have space for a massive stadium rebuild if they even got the financing! Only 1 road in and out though, which might cause some problems on a matchday 😂
11:13 Peterborough winning the league only to get relegated presumably the following season 11:35? Tom, what happened here? I’m dying to know how a team goes from winning the league to getting relegated. Also the idea of Man City as a yo yo club is hilarious.
I lived in Tonbridge and I would have played for Tonbridge angels at 8, obviously under 8s but my team begged me to stay. Kinda a reach but I still feel related to it in a way, also it's pronounced Tunbridge but spelled tonbridge
I’ve played in this stadium 😅 Sunday league cup final, U14/U13’s… drew 1-1, lost 5-4 on penalties, got MOTM tho. Still have my medal and MOTM trophy till this day
Hey tom, just wanna say congratulations on the shout out from bbc news!! Thats actually how i found you, crazy! I enjoy watching FM content, ill be looking forward to seeing your content and hopefully a subscription along the way!! All the best on your career! F the council 😂😂
Good video would be to fast forward like 20 years and see where all the big stars of today are? Harry Kane being the Accrington Stanley physio or something like that hopefully!
Is it possible to restructure tournaments in FM? I have an idea about merging pyramids and making regional super-leagues and would be curious to see how that turned out in the end
Tom the polish newsletter WP made an article about how you quit your job and play FM full time. They've really ran out of topics for the international break haven't they.
“79 times less” doesn’t make sense. They earned a 79th of Reading’s figure. And Tonbridge’s first syllable is said like the word ‘ton’ (rhymes with ‘bun’), it doesn’t rhyme with ‘con’.
The thing is the average ticket price, is it still £12 a ticket? Surely being in the premier league they should be £50 average. Does the AI change this amount as they go up?
Jesus how many games would a club in the championship play in a season, if they also had a run in Europe all the way to the final. I mean I could work it out myself but I can’t be bothered.
I'm from Maidstone so this is what I was focused on too ahaha, all I can think is the proximity to Tonbridge led to more gate receipts from away fans whenever Maidstone hosted Tonbridge relative to other teams in the division, it also explains why Gillingham got promoted from league two with Tonbridge
Seems the stadium is more important.... if only my Freiburg board in my save would listen to me and build a new one, I've saved up 500M and they still won't consider it.
Hi Tom, Please give one club 150,000 seater Stadium, other perfect facilities and the last one £1 Billion and Sim 50 Years on.... I follow you from Zambia 🇿🇲 😅😅

Well there would be an away support 😊
It's actually a curse. Every home, shop and business is looted during the 90 minutes as the rest of the country knows they'll all be at the game.
This happens here in France, Lens has like 36k capacity but there live around 30k people in the city
They're literally busing people in from everywhere.
Kent need a big club lol. We are screaming out for one!

Please break this save down a bit more. Forest winning so much, city relegated. I really want to know what happened
The main obstacle to this occurring in real life is all the NIMBYs in Kent objecting to a 150,000 seater stadium in Tonbridge
