- Recently I raced Dessyreqt and MetroidMst at SMB3 from All Stars. While the compilation video of the three of us is still pending, I put together this little collection of every death during my end of the race. They all occurred in the order presented, in case the sequence in world 8 is confusing.
Dying hurts!
Everything about Mario losing a life in the SNES version of this game is hilarious! Especially that little whistle noise when he dies, followed by the failure jingle.
I always laugh with the death music of SMB1 in this game

Love how Mario smiles when he dies in this game.
I don't think he's smiling. It's basically an :o face but his epic mustache and big nose make it look like a smile. The game designers could only fit so many details into these low-resolution graphics.

Well, at least Mario's overalls don't burst into flames or emit smoke. They do burst into flames in the New Super Mario Bros series (which all use the Super Mario Bros death sound) and emit smoke in 3D World (which uses this death sound). Peach's panties emit smoke as she yells "owie" in 3D World
More like the bottom part of the dress emits smoke.
SMB 3 is probably the hardest of them all, great game though...way ahead of its time

The last 7-3 death and the first 8-1 death are the most painful to see. Especially after nailing all the difficult 8-1 jumps.

Its because its the SNES remake of super mario bros 3.
Due to this, it changed the sprites, making them look slightly better as well as changing the sounds/music as well

Technically your right and wrong lol. This is from Super Mario Allstars. It had SMB 1-3 in one game cartridge. It came out on SNES. I definitely had it and vividly remember it looking and sounding like this.

Definitely not. At the time, I had been running on emulator, because I did not have All Stars for the SNES. Between the input latency, not having played the game for a few years before that point, and the deaths just snowballing themselves, it's a wonder I even finished the game.

@@spdfatomicstructure I'm very well aware that they are the same melodies. What I dont like is the TIMBRE used for the notes within the songs. It doesn't sound as good at all, ESPECIALLY for the underground, pipe maze, and ice cavern levels.
