Mario Advance 4 is essentially its own game thanks to these levels and the new and returning gimmicks they bring. Easily the best game in the SMA series.
This kind of reminds me of that time where you started playing the Chaos Control hack that ended up being cancelled. I guess it's because these levels are constantly putting you in dangerous situations like barely any time to complete the level and instant death spikes.
not sure if someone mentioned this or not, but I'm pretty sure that last Ace coin on the rope level had a hoopstar you could have jumped off of to get over by the A coin without powerups.
Oh god that stupid 60 seconds level. That level ruined me on my race against Bertrudor a while back. Those insta death spikes with their completely unrealistic hitboxes. Good one Nintendo!
I’ve played a destroyed version of this game on the nes. What you need: Jnes, SMB3 Rom, Debug Mode cheat code, Pickpocket cheat code (You can use items in your inventory and they don’t wear out) Don’t hit any ? Block’s or Music Notes, you die in a glitchy way. You can do this challenge yourself (You can also do this on all stars but it’s not that hard)
The spinny things that they ported to NSMB were the normal "spin round every few seconds" ones, but only "solid from top". BTW, do you think you might make a level for this, once someone makes a proper editor? It has a reasonable amount of sprites (SMB3 ones + all the e-reader stuff). Also, super-fast Boos are another thing they ported.
You know what i find odd, why didn't they just use the background from the SMW Ghost houses? the background they used is rather jarring and off for a haunted house in my book. They obviously reused elements from it so why not the Dark Blue background? Guess we will never know.
