Honest Thoughts: Parenting in the Philippines | Why they told me to don't go here with children

  • I can't promise safety to you and your kids in this or any other country that's not in my power. Sometimes, in the most safe place, bad things happens or there are cases when child play with snake and it doesn't bite. 🤷‍♀️🤯
    I just want to say that people told me such a bad things about the Philippines that weren't true at all.
    And if you are foreigner and thinking about life in the Philippines, what can I tell you, you should love this country , it people and it culture or you can't live here. If you don't love Philippines with it culture and people and you search just for a tropical country , go in Bali, Thailand, Vietnam, and leave Philippines for them who truly enjoys and loves all that the Philippines has to offer. 🇵🇭
    I really want to promote Philippines to the foreigners that bad gossip stops about that country, but I also want to protect Philippines from that kind of foreigners who can't appreciate this country and are just unsatisfied with everything 🤯
    Looks like an impossible task 😅

    Just be careful and don't go alone at night on a silent dark place. Love that your enjoying Philippines with your kids. Majority of filipinos are friendly and caring and they do care foreigners with love and smile. But every country in the world there will be bad people so it's good to be cautions and I would love to see you with a companion when you go out with your kids. :) Overall, Philippines are safe and people will help you out and it really makes me happy seeing your vlogs with your kids enjoying too. I am with you Jelena I’m so happy to see this topic in your blog because I already experience this kind of worries about my little girl in America 🇺🇸. You are so right about that! I just opened my tv news yesterday because it’s my routine every morning to watch new but I couldn’t believe that children’s in here are not safe at all school shootings everywhere, kidnapping, drugs being used to young children and even killing them, and worst case scenario just recently a guy shotgun and killed the child was playing in the yard because it making so much noise my heart is beating out it’s so sad 😭 because I have a little girl starting school here in state. I have raised my first kids in the Philippines already I never such a worried like this is so big difference between US vs Philippines your absolutely right ❤❤

      That's true many in the news here in YT, I've seen a lot of massive killings. In schools and malls...most likely the killers are teen agers because of drugs. People in the US and Canada getting insane. Same situation. They killed their own families too to be famous. Be vigilant wherever you are, don't go out when it's dark..
      It's true that Philippines does better than other countries...
      May God protect you Ms Jelena and your Family.🙏🏻❤️

    This is just me...I think bringing your kids to the Philippines teaches them to be humble in life. And never take things for granted plus it gives them the sense of freedom to explore their surrounding in life. Remember, cultural differences are what makes it so interesting because you can see where you stand on your culture. I hope as your children grow up in the Philippines they can speak Tagalog since it would be nice. I thnk the best way to do that is either not to speak their native language so they can learn a second language more quicker.

    Random shooting is becoming a big issue in the US, especially in schools. I think children are safer in the Philippines, but still be mindful that crimes could occur everywhere even in places you least expect it to happen.
    Glad Emma and Dominic are adapting to island life. Raising them in another country, such as the Philippines, will help them to become more open-minded, adaptable to change, and independent.

    VALUES formation is really good in the Philippines. Children are taught the values of RESPECT for elders, HARDWORK, SENSITIVITY to others, HUMILITY, CARING for family and HELPING others to name a few. I am in North America right now and these kids like 8-10 years could NOT even say "PLEASE" or "THANK YOU" and I am soooo pissed because what kind of values do these children have when a very simple respect for elders they could not even do.

    • @pingerfrints6716

      Bcoz in America they are not being taught how to wash the dishes,wash their clothes,sweep the floor,fetch water,watering the plants,grass cuttering,wood cutting,planting vegetables,cleaning the classrooms,scrubbing the floor using coconut dry husk,etc bcoz they will complain it is a dictator type of thing.

    Here in North America, you can never leave your Children play in the park alone, not even leave your focus on where they roam around in the park. You have to keep eye all the time because you never know who is going to get them or hurt them. Yet, the same people in North America or most western countries warn not to go to the Philippines because it is dangerous. How they could say that without knowing or been to the Philippines it is just unbelievable. Agree that there are always bad elements in all places around the world so you should know what is going on in the area where you live or where you want to go to take precaution and know some areas with danger. Always remember it is your personal responsibility to be cautious and aware wherever you go.

    Hi Jelena, your area looks pretty dense, during rainy season it is best to check plants, pots, or anything that can store water as mosquitoes love laying their eggs there, it is also advised to find out the symptoms as it may appear like normal, plan ahead which hospital you're going if dengue occurs (God Forbid 🙏🤞)

    • @eli.capinbxu
      @eli.capinbxu ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Ms jelena I agree with what @mhusk3732 said. Dengue is one of a major health risk in the Philippines. As much as possible, turn upside down anything that catches rain water because mosquitoes love to breed on stagnant water. If you feel itchiness after mosquito bite rub aloevera gel or sap on it to prevent the itch. Also use aloevera sap for any cuts in your skin or in scalded skin.😮

      @gramo63 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If there are plenty of MOSQUITOES, you should install bat-houses in the nearby trees (Plans are available on TH-cam). The bats will occupy them and eat the mosquitoes at night. And guano makes the best fertilizer.

    Yes Philippines is a very friendly country. But in every country there are still people with bad intentions or sick minds especially towards minors. I heard some cases by Raffy Tulfo's program about being rapes by friends' friends, cousins, or just a dirty minded neighbour. Filipino men like too much white skinned women and we never know what is in the head of those sick people. So, i think it is still wise to have a close control to who and which kind of people your children come in contact with. To control and to know with whom your children come in contact with is everytime much better before you will regret why you didn't do it!!! Sexual abusers for boys or girls are all over the world but there's nothing to loose to have eyes on your children before it's too late.

    Thanks for your kind words to the Filipinos. You are in the province where everybody knows each other and are conected to each other that crime is almost zero. Still, be careful always especially in the congested cities. I like the place where you stay, its so close to nature with trees around and houses still far from each other I guess. Enjoy your stay!

    Your kids will forever cherish this wonderful childhood experience in their life once they are grown up. It’s a nice environment free of drugs gang violence and heinous crime. It’s a similar place I spent my younger days in a remote town in Northern Mindanao. Watching from the USA.

    Seeing your family happy, makes me happy too. I'm also a mother of 2. I live in the city and whenever my family visits province, I let my kids run wild in the fields and play with animals because it really makes them happy. You look beautiful even without make up, and I can see you guys enjoy eating Filipino food. The calmness and peaceful life in province, specially the smell of the grass and trees, the fresh air that is so relaxing compare to living in the cities here in the philippines. Life is short and time pass by so fast, just enjoy your stay and always be happy. Though Philippines is much safer than other countries when raising children, I still advice you to still be cautious and don't let your kids out of your sight, don't forget to lock your doors specially at night because there is no country in this world with zero crime. Have a nice day!

    Thank you for appreciating Filipinos and Philippines Jelena. Yes Philippines is generally safe but of don’t let your guard down which means don’t be so complacent. Always be vigilant still. Don’t go out late at night alone or only you and your children. Always lock your house.
    Get a medical insurance coz medical treatment in Philippines is super expensive. Because you are foreigner so likely in event of medical issue you will go to private hospital.
    Public healthcare in the Philippines is not that good.

      You chose the right country for the education and your second home for the family its culture is diverse which can teach your children the customs & tradition of respect to elders it would be an advantage if t you and ur children learn the local language in order to earn for the locals accept and respect filipinos are amased if you show them you learn the language especialy you came from other country, just be cautious not to put your full trust to people who wanted to get close with you they might take advantage of the situation and you might end up dissapointed, bottomline know the people around or trying to befriend you from other people to give you an idea, good luck on your stay in the country.

    One must be careful, esp during rainy seasons, u can gather dried firewoods or fr d coconuts and start a little fire (outside d house)put little green grasses and it produce smoke, so that d mosquitoes will b died or fly away...
