i think the most powerful scene was the last, when the world was split into three and showed our main characters in the middle. it really showed what their struggle was; trying to maintain tradition in a world that has become hostile towards it in search of change. i really enjoyed this. thank you
Until I read the description I thought this film was the story of the spirit of sap from maple trees and their haunting/choosing of this one person to collect and continue the tradition of maple syruping/sugar bush. Kind of like, the spirit of sugar bush/maple syruping or really, the sap of the maple tree needs a human to practice. So the spirit chose this person and this was their story. Loved it!!!
My name is Biidaaban, I have never met another person with my name before and suddenly I find this film. I am in awe, this is amazing. Miigwech!

simply astonishing and beautiful. A work that sums up both the definition and process of decolonization.
Profoundly beautiful. Can't watch it enough. I wish it were longer but it was likely exhausting just to produce 20 minutes. Chi-Migwetch!!

I'm a festival director, based in Melbourne/Australia, and I'd love to screen this beautiful film- for free. How do I get in contact with Amanda?
Are they using odawa or ojibwe language?
