I wish that a video was made for each city in Canada explaining the history for each.

This was so powerful. Thank you. Everyone needs to understand the history of the land we stand on. This broke my heart but inspired my learning.

This video takes land acknowledgment to a deeper level of understanding and serves as a starting point for me to reach into the past and gain even more perspective. Thank you for this important contribution.

Thank you so much for this film. It's such a thoughtful piece diving deep into those very words of acknowledgment we say. To go beyond those words and get a glimpse of the real history of what those words mean was so eye-opening.

Powerful, beautifully and thoughtfully constructed provocative video that should be required viewing for anyone making a public land acknowledgement to really think about what they are saying, and the meaning behind the message. Well done to filmmaker Jon B Elliott and all the team. I will share this video broadly with friends, family and colleagues.

I think of the buried trade iron at Mantle, south of Stouffville, before the Wendat disappeared.

did you emerge out of the soil??? we are all colonizers we are all settlers? do you teach your children about the white slaves who came from Ireland to build the bridges? or the italians who built the stone walls or houses?

I don't think they said all european people are colonizers

The word colonizer was never used in the video, they said "settlers" throughout. Although "colonizers" is more accurate so at least you got that right.
Irish and Italian people today are not marginalized in their own countries-nor are they in Canada. So, I'm not sure why you feel the need to bring that up on this particular video. What you're doing is the equivalent of someone commenting on a video about cancer awareness and saying "but you didn't talk about foot fungus and I have foot fungus."
Unfortunately for you, you completely missed the point of this video. Here's a book recommendation if you ever decide to educate yourself: "Me and White Supremacy" by Layla Saad. Although it's pretty clear what your intentions are here; upholding toxic white supremacy culture and racism. I'm done staying silent when people like you try to silence others.

@ArianneLane so typical to accuse me of "missing the point" did you ever think that you might be wrong? You are spreading division and hatred.
      Stop it!
