Monster Hunter Rise was the perfect change of pace coming from world. This game is just MHW without the more 'grounded or real' combat limitations and i love it. Can't wait for Wilds :D
13:00 It is considered in lore bad luck to kill Kelbi because of the fact that they regrow their horns quickly and their horns are used in medicine. Because of that you don't kill Kelbi, you KO them then take their horns
The Rampage Weapons aren't bad, you'll just not be able to properly upgrade them easily. They're essentially customisable weapons and a few of them were meta in Base Rise. Sadly they can't be upgraded to Master Rank so they're definitely not worth crafting for your playthrough
Apex Monsters are really fun in Base Rise, especially the emergency event quests. I strongly suggest to play those event quests before sailing for Master Rank expansion.
Rampage weapons are only good when max upgraded, which you aren't able to do yet. They require parts from all apexes and all levels of rampage tickets. Once made, they require additional materials to modify them as desired, allowing them to become either the best and/or most comfortable option for most weapons. Kelbi are the deer monsters that got up and ran away. You can't kill them, but you can get materials from them. If I remember correctly, it's because they are seen as sacred creatures. If you hold the wirebug button with your weapon put away, you can aim where you want to pull yourself towards for easier map traversal. I've modified my controls, so I don't remember the exact button, but I'm pretty certain it's the opposite trigger button.
My best Gunlance and Charge Blade in Base Rise were all rampage weapons. For Gunlance, you can just have any type of Lv.5 Shelling you want while having lengthy blue sharpness. And for Charge Blade, just stack any Attack available to get like 250 Raw Attack which is insane for SAED. It's sad they discontinued the system in Sunbreak. Sure, we have qurios weapon crafting but it's not the same as making your own weapon. You just pick a weapon then basically augment them.
That is litterally the lore, it produces a special gas it can levitate with and uses the glowy bits on its body to control it and send it out. This gas has a blue luminescent color to it wich is what the shimmer around it is
Dude you fighti g for 20 minutes with 10% stamina with 8 rations SELECTED in the item box is just AAAGHHHHHH, insane gameplay btw i carted from rajang 10 times with higher tier armor lol
Tbh I also never saw D rank in Rampages, but I wouldn't sweat about it as rank is based on the sub quests afaik and they're not tailored for 1 player and if you're playing solo at least some of them are impossible to reach. Also Rampages are trash either y😅
I hate me some rampage 😊 Just started a new Risebreak save after 300 hours in the game using chargeblade for the first time and it’s been a ton of fun getting back to rise (my first) after playing world for a good bit.
I know you like SAED, but the amount of confusion you're experiencing during the rampage is why I advise against maining weapons like CB. These games are complicated in their most basic challenges and like to add more complicated challenges, so using complicated weapons on top of that makes it harder to comprehend what's happening. If you want to really understand the game, I recommend giving another try to Hammer, Sword & Shield, Lance or Greatsword. SnS is better in World, and you probably wouldn't like it anyway because it does all little quick attacks, though Perfect Rush is something you might like aiming for. Lance is pretty much the same as World, which is to say, better than it's been compared to any previous generation, and I find it a lot of fun though you probably wouldn't because it doesn't have any big flashy attacks. Greatsword is probably the same as World (I haven't tried Rise GS yet) but that would be my bottom recommendation because TCS might end up distracting you from core mechanics like SAED does. Hammer is probably my top recommendation for you for this game - it has big high-risk/high-reward attacks without any of the convoluted nonsense on the level of SAED/TCS/etc, it's mobile, allows you to stun monsters to create openings for _HUGE DAMAGE,_ and in Rise it has an optional parrying attack that allows you to counter by anticipating the monster's attack, plus probably get some free stun progress in.
I mean…rampages just suck and are overwhelming solo. They are meant to be played multiplayer and the only fun I have had with them is in multiplayer. Nothing to do with weapon selection. I just picked up CB this week for the first time after ~400 in the series and it took a day or two to get all the steps down, but I’m not thinking about it more than most other weapons at this point.
@@TREE3301 It's up to you of course, but you may be underestimating how much the experience changes with your moveset. Hammer is a good example: Hammer simplifies every fight, in a way. When you have the hammer, every problem becomes "get to the monster's head" - so instead of your attention being spent on setting up a powered-up state and doing a super-move, you're more focused on where the monster is and what it's doing. Combine that with turning off as much of the HUD as you can and the hunt becomes a much more intuitive experience, though to be fair that's coming from the perspective of a pretty much pure solo player who doesn't have an audience to talk to. You may still prefer CB for every game that has it, but if you end up doing older games, Hammer goes all the way back to 1st gen and would be my top recommendation based on what you seem to like.
@@johnathanrhoades7751 You shouldn't start a body of text with "I mean" - you didn't say anything leading up to that so it's just pointless filler words that make it sound like you don't know what you're talking about. But yes, Rampages suck. They're still overwhelming even with the simplest weapons and I can't imagine how much worse it is to learn them on the most convoluted weapon class. Hence the recommendation to retry Hammer.

My fav MH!!!
For comparison it's like MH4U=MHW
MHGU=MHR
Portable team tend to deliver more flashy combat
World "Carefully track the monster and use your enviroment to your advantage" Rise "Use your wirebug to kill a god"

That monke jumpscare is funnier the second time.
Ah, the first reaction to Apex Arzuros. Truly the best experience.
We need to make sure he does the Emergency event fight before long
Dang, that Rajang jumpscare got me XD
The Dragon Ball reference monster is scary in every game he's in.
Who wins:
a base made to take down countless monsters at the same time, made for resistance and extreme defense.
Or....
Bear thicc butt

The monster must have a special thing that stock helium or something like that.
That's how it flies in my opinion.

I don't find CB very complicated or stressful (I'm very used to the CB) I doubt I would have been less confused using another weapon
In fact I probably would get more stress tryna figure out how to operate another weapon
