Because even if Batman wasn't present in there, he's fully aware to where he can be blindsided or ambushed. I find it funny that aside from Spoilers, the Arkham Knight and Hugo Strange had the right idea how to finish Batman for good. But they're held back by their superficial superiors. That they should "relish the moment" where they finally land the killing blow on Batman and rub his failures on his face. Each of them must break him first before enacting their grand scheme. As a result, Batman gets back up to bite them on the ass. He becomes their largest hurdle and hindrance. Scarecrow: "Do not worry, you'll have your chance to kill him. Now is not the time" AK: "You don't understand! THERE IS NO SECOND CHANCE once we let him live! He'll just come back stronger!" In that dialogue, Arkham Knight had the right idea of robbing Batman of any chance of getting back up. And I believe him, and we know who he is and we know he had the resources to do so. Instead, it ends up being squandered. Hence why in the comics, Deathstroke always had the upper hand in majority of his battles against Batman. Once he locks him in sight. Batman would always be beaten near death. Or at least injuring him or scarring him so that he had a massive disadvantage in their rematches or so. But of course, plot would always demand Batman to win.
True, however I don't think they were expecting one thing. That suit. Most likely Jason, while knowing about it's existence, wouldnt not be able to predict the multi fear takedown part of it. That suit allows Bruce way more movement than his other suits, allowing him to strike harder and faster. That speed may have been something that may have saved him mutiple times in the game. However it's not perfect, while the suit is great, if batman is not prepared, like the time where jason ambushed him and shot him in the side, then his speed regardless of the suit can be beaten.
@@alexbarajas5895 I can't remember if Batman had been fear toxined yet at that point but it's mentioned by some of the enemies that the fear toxin has made batman more brutal and he's pulling less of his punches, that probably messed with Jason's planning as well
They are slightly different in the Predator sections. Militia will buddy up to prevent Batman sneaking up on them, they'll bomb the vantage points, they can trace Batman's Detective Mode, they can scramble Detective Mode, they have medics to revive unconscious soldiers, they have sentry guns from TF2, and they can check the floor grates. I was playing arkham knight the other day and at the start of the game I spoke to all the officers at GCPD. One of them says that it took 4 cops to force the guy with the broken wrist into the cell. This just shows how strong batman is. It takes 4 cops to put a guy with a broken wrist into cell, while batman just straight up shits on them.
People always mention that but not only does he fight in a way that makes it nearly impossible to get a clear shot on his head, but there's also a bulletproof cover that descends down over his face when he's in danger of being shot there.

Funnily it would if this was City/Asylum/Origins Batman, when he was still "green" to some extent, here in knight he has far more tech and actually developed multiple strategies against his every opponent as guy realized he will 100% face them more. AK was right on many of these tactics, on *old* Batman, not this one. One, for instance, being Asylum armor that wasnt so protected or in City where Bruce didnt have any enhancing drugs that would help him when he gets hurt, all of these are countered in Knight.
Not gonna lie origins Batman is a little similar towards knight Batman because it’s the same amount of tech and the same amount of body armor but then again it is Bruce Wayne when he was starting to become Batman when he was in his mid-20s, so he was more reckless and more hotheaded
@@mathewgeorge4233 Yeah, the origins batsuit was mostly a crutch for his inexperience. His acquired weapons also fit the bill, like the shock gloves. Here the Knight batsuit was the epitome of what a batsuit is and what it should do. Work in symbiosis with Bruce's skill to maximise results and render previous anti-batman tactics impossible. Like repositionning enemies in unfavourable spots, making the environment hostile to enemies and being able to remote control/call the batmobile to aid in encouters.
Yo that detail is crazy yo! Some details like these really immerse me. Somebody in real life would/could really do this, and it kinda humanizes the NPCs

Oh well almost 3 years back when I uploaded the video I was just focused on showing the conversation almost since there were plenty of videos already showing the takedown. But I agree it is still a cool takedown.
I absolutely love this. This is the devs' way of implementing a tutorial without making the player read immersion-breaking popups. It's the game's way of teaching the player what to expect while still keeping it in line with the immersiveness of the gameplay and story, keeping the player engaged. This also rewards patient players who are more tactical thinkers and observant, as opposed to the majority of players that will just barge through everything and wonder why they keep dying and uninstall the game because they didn't pay attention.
@@stealth3213 Slade never trained the Militia. He confirmed that when he said, "You're lucky I didn't train these men, Batman. Then, you'd be fighting REAL soldiers."

The whole "His Bat-Signal is supposed to make you shoot at it" thing is actually genius, since most guys treat the "Center-Mass" method where they just aim for the chest. But, center-mass doesn't work when you have a Bullet-Sponge on your chest.
That is true. But then again, even if he did kill the Joker, none of those people would be safe in a world filled with so many overpowered villains. When fans throw sarcasm about how "Gotham is the safest place in the world", it's actually not much of a joke. It's true, just by being in Gotham (or anywhere in that universe) they're already doomed
The greatest mistake the Arkham Knight made was letting success go to his head; he had Batman cornered multiple times during the story, but each time he grew overconfident, and hesitated. And hesitation is defeat. But his knowledge of Batman's weaknesses was also incomplete. He didn't have any means to directly counter Batman's greatest asset; his tactical brilliance. So long as Batman's mind is clear and focused, he can find the smallest weak point in your plans and defenses and exploit it in spectacular fashion. The Arkham Knight needed to teach his soldiers to distract Batman, keep him off balance, keep the pressure on, not give him time to think. They needed to employ surprise attacks and be unpredictable instead of simply trying to overcome him with frontal assaults in every engagement.
He also completely missed Batmans main rule. Why make automated tanks and vehicles? You wanna stop Batman and his own tank? Put people in them. He can potentially disable them all he wants, but they'll eventually get repaired and replaced.
In fairness, some of the tactics *were* for exactly those purposes. Screwing with the tactics is a trick the Penguin used first with his jamming trick, sure, but directly punishing the Batman for using his Detective Mode as a way to gather information is excellent. Blow up the vantage points as you notice them, set mines where you can't, and torch the vents so he can't ninja around, use turrets to block choke points, medics to revive and maintain numbers, et cetra et cetra... All combined are meant to achieve that very purpose, and in-gameplay it can work brilliantly. Beyond that, the Watsonian reason for not doing surprise attacks and being truly unpredictable is that the Militia are still following the Knight's playbook, and going off-script is a way to get fired or shot. Doylist reason... What, you want true artificial intelligence trained by murderous jerks hunting you down? Game's solid enough as is. If a Predator mission goes wrong or you're not skilled enough at using tech, it can be jarring getting chased around feeling like *you're* the one on the back foot as Batman, scrambling around trying to stay out of sightlines until you can quietly choke a bastard out. Same with not having people in the tanks. Watsonian reason might be "Frankly, neither the Knight nor Scarecrow trust handing weapons of that scale to the soldiers." Doylist reason is because manually disabling vehicles like that, knocking them out, might have been more realistic, but would prevent the game from removing them. They need to blow up to allow the other 19-odd tanks to roll up without the fights being even more of a clusterfuck trying to navigate the wrecks.
Man I LOVE the significant small details in this. The fact they all cheer for the Sentry Guns because it's the most fun part, the way one member goes back to Suicide Vests two minutes after they're talked about because that would logically be on their mind. This series of games for me as someone who enjoys free roaming / superhero games, will NEVER be beaten. It's a true love letter to everything in the Batman Universe, and even if there isn't a new one, I'll forever be grateful to Rocksteady and Warner Bros. Montreal for this gift of pure fanfare.
Imagine how funny it would have been if Batman was taking notes, and then asked the leader a question, and the guy answers him, and only mid way into his answer, realizes that Batman is here.
Militia Leader: So, any questions? Batman: Yeah, I've got one? How do you prevent the Bat from breaking each and every one of your bones? Militia: That's why we have the medics specially trained to- wait a minute...
I love how these discussed tactics are actually used by the AI. In predator segments, the militia will drop bombs in the grates and make them unusable. They'll shoot the gargoyles and vantage points which also makes them unusable. They even plant bombs on them. And they aim for your legs if they see you, and Batman will stumble sometimes when hit by bullets
2:11 I love how the medic on the bottom left is lifting his hands up when the leader mentions them. “Yeaaaah finally we’re getting a shoutout for getting our asses kicked”
Ngl the gameplay for the militia was really awesome. It's like bossfight from previous games in every encounter, really cool. Like yeah the fighting might not be as good but that's the point, no one's fight as good as bat, so they focuses on something else. Kinda want batman appreciate the milita effort to counter batman tactics, because some of it does works, but well he did acknowledge arkham knight for his tactics
I think Jason is using past experiences with other suits as point of reference. They can be stronger than others but they can easily have the same design flaws...that's my guess
This is what I like about this game. There’s points like this where they record minutes of dialogue that just add to the realism. One I found was in the first riddler race where he goes through all of his rules
Eh. Bats supposed to be The Creme de la Creme of the non-superpowered vigilantes. He is about as good as one can get with training, gear and know-how. So there are very few killers (i meant, people willing to kill) who are as good as him and none better. Deathstroke is the closest one i think.
I'll be honest, this was a pretty good militia, a pretty good and well funded militia. Minus the unmanned tanks, they probably could have taken out Batman, they knew his weaknesses, his strengths and how to turn them into weaknesses and how to get rid of his advantages. He uses detective vision to scout out his foes and hides while using it? Employ soldiers with trackers to find him or employ soldiers with suits that can render you invisible from his vision. He sneaks around the area? Employ motion activated turrets to either shoot him down or give away his hiding position. He's hiding in the vents? Use thermo charges to keep out or burn him alive. He's above you? Destroy the vantage points with explosives. Even that bomb vest is good tactic, granted it didn't work here because they got cocky, but in the right circumstance it could work. They were a pretty solid group, with some good tactics and some good equipment to boot.
3:16 some people just dont pay attention to their surroundings. No no no, dont worry, its not like Batman is hanging above you guys listening in on your strategies to kill him. And he totally isnt crawling on the ledge to appear behind you like a badass and he isnt gonna disarm your bomb vest. Oh and he totally isnt gonna kick your asses and Joker's ass as well and he isnt gonna......... wait why dafuq are you idiots sleeping?! OHHHHHHH thats why!! Batman knocked your lights out. Nvm toodles
I love the double purpose of this briefing: not only does it show how capable the militia is and house well thought out their tactics are, this also teaches the player how the henchmen will act and what they will do when they see you, allowing you to outsmart them with knowledge you *organically gained.*
Notice how he said "you'll *probably* be right", and failed to mention steel beams, like the ones that are hanging directly over their heads that Batman could easily use as a vantage poi- (looks up) *oh fu-*
Militia Leader: There is no way that he will get near me. (Waits a few seconds and looks around to see if his words didn’t doom him) Militia Leader: Which brings me to point two.
What's also really nice about this sequence is that it indirectly educates the player, too, about what to expect during a Predator sequence against these guys. Love it when exposition or tutorials are hidden in plain sight like this.
I love the fact they recorded all of this dialogue knowing most players would just go on ahead and disarm the vest man just show the attention to detail with the fact they thought people would like to listen 👏👏
I like In the fight after listening to this, they will actually use those strategies, medics will revive more and the militia actually say things such as "remember aim for his legs!"
I’ll be honest when I first went through this section I was hoping this was a new enemy type. Imagine one or two of these guys in predator sections and in order to take them down you had to disarm it by sneaking up behind them but in doing so would expose yourself and you either had to disarm and risk being exposed and possibly killed in disarming them or take everyone else out and leave them for last as you would fail if you knock them out.

Now is not the time"
AK: "You don't understand! THERE IS NO SECOND CHANCE once we let him live! He'll just come back stronger!"
In that dialogue, Arkham Knight had the right idea of robbing Batman of any chance of getting back up.

@@phatlewt2932 Considering Islam is typically associated to Middle-Eastern and South Asian countries, like Christianity is in the west, islamophobia, while more appropriate a term in this context, can be considered a form of racism as it stems from the same kind of blind hatred that places a stigma on a particular community because of the negative actions of a minority of them.
The point is that our friend Parth here assumed that the merc in the video is Pakistani by simple association to the act of blowing oneself up, which is erronous on multiple levels:
- As I already pointed out, there is nothing in the video or the merc's dialogue that hints at his origins whatsoever, nor does the game's story hint at that of the other mercs' either.
- The merc wouldn't have agreed to put on the vest in the first place if he didn't have some sort of guarantee that it wouldn't kill him. He put on the vest knowing (with very good reason) that Batman would never dare attempt to knock him out if it means that it will blow up when he becomes unconscious, which is the complete opposite mentality to those of the indoctrinated zealots who would gladly blow themselves up in blind pursuit of a revisionist interpretation of Islam religion KNOWING that it will kill them and many others with them in the process.

I like how he missed that Batman can also use weak walls to hunt, and that's exactly how he went down.
I love how the devs specifcally made the leader pause when he says "The Bat will never get near me". Just enough time for you to prove him wrong. XD
Play Endless Knight and see just how hard the Militia really is.
They can’t comprehend Batman’s “it’s the only way” mindset
Man I LOVE the significant small details in this. The fact they all cheer for the Sentry Guns because it's the most fun part, the way one member goes back to Suicide Vests two minutes after they're talked about because that would logically be on their mind. This series of games for me as someone who enjoys free roaming / superhero games, will NEVER be beaten. It's a true love letter to everything in the Batman Universe, and even if there isn't a new one, I'll forever be grateful to Rocksteady and Warner Bros. Montreal for this gift of pure fanfare.

I mean, let's be honest. That line is pretty ridiculous lol.
I like how the medic raises his arms like “THATS ME” when he starts talking about them
2:13 let’s review some of our other techniques, medics.
Dude in the bottom left: *YEAAAAAH THATS ME WOOOOOOO*
"He'll study you from the shadows"
Huh. He really knows how Bats does things
While Batman is watching:
_Aww that’s so cute, they think they stand a chance_
I love the fact they recorded all of this dialogue knowing most players would just go on ahead and disarm the vest man just show the attention to detail with the fact they thought people would like to listen 👏👏
I like In the fight after listening to this, they will actually use those strategies, medics will revive more and the militia actually say things such as "remember aim for his legs!"
Batman probably thinking: "Great lecture guys, better pay attention cause there'll be a test when he's done."
Batman after seeing this: Time to put them all into a Permanent coma..
1:32 Batman: no no he's got a point
Grunts: yeah, wait wtf
If this was a school PowerPoint presentation, he’d get an A+
1:05
I love that the game specificly hesitates to let you hit him
Ironically this scene unfurls mere moments before he decimates everyone in that room.
Leader: "Don't you get it? Batman doesn't kill. Not even indirectly. With this thing on, that pacifist crybaby can't touch me. He wouldn't be able to live with the guilt."
Me: *equips the Michael Keaton costume*
