Dude Mike, I'm so glad you're doing this podcast. You don't get enough credit for being able to be innovative and stay relevant (not that podcasting itself is anything special, but of all the musicians and song writers I've followed my entire life, you're one of the few that's still interesting and fun.) Just wanted to say I share every episode and I'm glad you're still around. Love the podcast man.

Fat Mike is basically a stand up comedian
Joe Rogan is a lifetime jock that did some drugs and befriended some real gnarly comics for a few years to gain notoriety. Soon as he made a few bucks he went back into full jock mode. Dudes comedy has always been lame.
People are still doing the jock/punk thing? What's wrong with lifting weights? Or enjoying a sport like MMA? I honestly didnt know adults were out there still doing these silly high school stereotype bullshits ha ha

@@JeffNixonComedy It's not about being buff, we all love danzig(of yore at least lol), I lift too. It's about the mentality. The architypes just happen to correlate with the popular football player one. Rogan quit standing his philosophical ground and has just floated a slightly edgier version of the popular narritive on literally everything. There was a period when JRE was so low-key he really would say more interesting shit. Now it's clear he knows each and every word is being examined and it's fucking exhausting to listen to. It's no longer a relaxed, open-minded conversation.

So Rogan got pissy over Stanhope saying he isnt funny? I thought Joe was all about learning the truth of things...
Seriously, though, Rogan is an alright podcast host, he knows his shit when it comes to fighting, and he can be funny in a conversation, but Ive never found his stand-up funny, unique or insightful, and its always just felt like a D tier Hicks/Kinison tribute act without any of the wit and originality those two had. The fact he heard that from someone like Stanhope, a true legend, probably just made him bitter, since its true, but of course thats just speculation, as I dont know the man.

The problem started when Stanhope told Rogan that physical comedy is lame af to his face. Needless to say it makes up 80% of Joe’s act. Do the math.

My mom died of cancer and I can relate to seeing her in awful shape. My sister and I joke about certain aspects of it around other people and it's pretty funny to see the faces they make.
I'm confident our loved ones would rather be remembered with smiles than otherwise. I know I would.
@@nobodynoone2500 Definitely, I made it through 3. 5 years stuck in a cancer ward, I'd tell friends to make jokes and laugh even if I had no energy. No use being sad if you can help it imo. Saw my aunt the night of her passing, it was fucked and I regret it tbh, all I picture in memories of her is her mummified looking face, even memories of her years before.

That stuff Sam was saying about street artists reminds me of the time my city commissioned a street artist named Risk from LA to come all the way to Ontario to turn our old hospital into the biggest mural in Canada. His shit got stolen, and he wasn't able to finish. I'm ashamed of my city sometimes.
