In the financial call this evening, they mentioned the current production rate for Cybertruck is 1000 per week. So that number revealed in the recall notice is becoming outdated very quickly.
I'm sure they'll install the latest version of everything on the new models being built, but I've seen a whole lot more recalls from manufacturers than what Tesla had to recall, heck Toyota had to recall over 1 million trucks because the frames were rotting out before they were 6 months old, and that was a huge recall, they had to replace the entire frame with a new one, it took on average a week to replace one at the dealership. Ford also had to recall millions of cars and trucks years ago because the fuel rails were pulling apart and causing them to catch on fire, they designed a special clip to hold them together. It wasn't a very expensive recall, but when you have 8 connection points on a fuel system at 12 dollars a clip and labor to install them, which was very hard to get to a few of them, probably was pretty expensive for Ford. And let's not forget about the Tanaka airbag recall that we on most every vehicle on the road.

I just got notified that I can order my Foundation Series Cybertruck. OK, I'm guessing that I'm somewhere around number 400,000 on the list. I signed up early on Saturday after the (Thursday?) announcement. So that would say that approximately 1% of people on the list are going for the Foundation Series.
Less than 4000 delivered in 6 months. You might be waiting a bit

What it was though was a fk load of fraud. $500 x 2000000. I'm sure you can do the math. Or.... they didn't commit huge fraud and the 2 million number was completely made up.
They have delivered less than 4000 in the first 6 months. They also said they haven't filled all the orders for next year.
You don't need me to help you connect the dots. They obviously aren't going to ramp from less than 20 a day made by hand to tens of thousands per week to meet the numbers they claim they will.

The trend among all non-Chinese EV makers is down. In early 2025 we will see production of 2024 cybertrucks alone will be greater than all EVs by either Ford, Stellantis, or GM.

@@Ram_SV Accelerator issue was diagnosed and a fix was issued within days, compare that to the Ford Lightning that was recalled because of a potential to catch fire, production was stopped for months before a positive corrective action was available.

Haven't seen one with a tow bar yet. Nor have I seen one with a concrete mixer on the back.

You know how many recalls an ordinary truck has? DOZENS how come people forget this? Some design, more quality issues.
Farley talked about quality and recalls being a huge problem at Ford. 95% of Tesla "recalls" are solved with OTA updates, which legacy auto cannot do.
@@machoopichoo2 that is not a recall that is an update because they spit out an unfinished product. Cyber trucks are breaking down not even recalls at horrible levels now. Remember there are only like 3000 out there

The only thing "wrong" about the Cybertruck is that it's a body on frame with a very hard shell. That isn't bad, but it is not what Mr Musk originally envisioned and promoted. I think he got carried away by how Starship is constructed before being brought down to Earth by his engineers. If you forget about that and the styling, it's hard to find anything about the Cybertruck that isn't better than what was available before it.
In his defense, very few prototypes are anything close to the production model, although Tesla seems to get very close with most models.
He designed it to fit in the cargo area of his Starship, they said there are 2 very distinct spots in there to fit 2 Cybertrucks for when he plans his trip to Mars, and he said he will be going there by the year 2050.

There is so many over the air updates still waiting for this truck. Who ever has one now will have a "different" truck in a year from now. There is diff locks that will come, most probably better performance, faster charging and possibly even longer range and auto pilot. That is just what I can think of.

He’s usually positive about Tesla, so I’m curious about his reasoning here.
The ramp does seem a bit slow, but by every other metric, it appears to be a great success.
Pressure from shareholders is setting in. Tesla's stock price has been falling so hedge fund managers are feeling a ton of pressure.
The price, the capacity, the battery capacity, the quality, fk all crumple zones, it rusts, it insanely expensive to fix the smallest of damage, every panel is a cheese grator & a guillotine, the onboard system crashes or is full of alerts, it's difficult to drive, it's full of blind spots, it's not bullet proof, it's not even water proof.
That's just off the top of my head.
Re the ramp, there isnt one. It's less than 4000 cars in 6 months. Less than 20 a day. They are being put together by hand still. They would be crazy to ramp up with this many problems.
The opposite is more likely to happen & CT will slowly disappear off their product list like the Semi.

The price is fine for initial production. No issues with sales at that price.
Capacity? Production capacity? No issues there, that can expand in due course if needed.
Battery capacity is quite sufficient for 90% of use cases.
Quality is high - as all Tesla’s.
It has crumple zones. Stop lying.
It doesn’t rust.
It’s not expensive to repair - Dirty Tesla recently had some damage sorted and was surprised by how cheap it was.
It’s neither a cheese grater, nor a guillotine. It’s no more likely to act as a guillotine than any other vehicle.
The systems are stable, and much more reliable than those in legacy manufacturers products.
It’s easy to drive - all reviews have commented on that.
The door panels do exactly what they said they would with respect to stopping bullets.
Have you not seen the footage of them being driven through deep flooding, without any water ingress?

EVs in general are struggling for range and charging when towing. Something s lot of truck drivers want to do. I say thus as a Teska fan and driver of a Model Y.
Touché, however, there’s nothing that you just mentioned that cannot be overcome.
So contrast that with buying an ICE car/light truck/heavy duty semi trucks, and you get what you get, and there is no amount of engineering that’s going to change the outcome of what you get, and what you get is a whole lotta pollution and constant maintenance to keep the thing on the road and that’s unacceptable by today’s standard, as I can plug in my CyberTruck/EV car at home and use the power of the sun to power it, so can you do that with an ICE vehicle?
So ICE is dead, and we should have the decency and honesty to say that ICE is dead!😫

Yep, adding batteries and a small motor to a trailer is an excellent solution to cover towing and not towing use.

The Cybertruck is the first EV that is without doubt an EV. It is a statement vehicle. It is not allowed to disappoint as it is either a success or failure. It will do more for EV awareness than any previous EV. It will spur the sale of all EV's. Some of the new tech you will not see and that is a good thing. China is doing well with EV's because they are good at copying. Legacy auto has ego problems that might take them to their grave. When Tesla is going 100 mph you are not going to catch them going 20 mph even if that is 2x as fast as you usually go. Using Politics to limit Tesla helps China the most. Someday someone in office is going to say Tesla a US company is leading the world in autos.

I was excited for the cybertruck but i'm very disappointed. This truck was meant to be the towing king for Evs, but the nearly halved the battery capacity. It now has worse towing range (80 miles?) out of all the other EV trucks. You can't rely on aerodynamics for range when you're towing. brute force does ie big battery. The 'cyberbeast' should have come with at least 180kwh battery. OR at least the option to put in a bigger pack to be IN THE MAIN PACK not a giant box that takes up your bed space!
Not to mention the interior is yuck, that white dashboard looks like playdough.
Also it's a bit misleading to say in your video that CT is selling more than GM in Q1 when it's mearly catching up on all the backorders, of course sales are high when it first comes out!

Full charge towing a trailer you get 90 miles, then recharge for 6 hours… it’s not a truck it’s a toy … nobody who really needs a truck will buy this… but nothing wrong with buying a toy 🧸
75% of trucks are used as toys, not for work. Around 40 min. to go from 20%-80% charge on a CT.

@@user-qj7bi1vz7y No just burning gas. "As of 2022, coal accounted for roughly 18-19% of electricity generation" [US Energy Information Administration (EIA)]. Even if a BEV is charged by coal, it is still more efficient/less polluting than an ICE vehicle.
