Wouldnt a bank on the 4 into the side pocket have been a better play? Straight in shot on the 5, shoot the 7 down the rail, easy shot on the 8. The only worrying thing would be a double kiss off the bank with the 4.
Hard to hold the cue ball there since he's on the rail. Also, most players will only bank as a last resort. Granted he did get really funny on the 5, but I think the shot clock came into play there.
Professional Pool Players are expected to get out. Hallelujah. That's the way it's supposed to be. There isn't a professional player out there that doesn't believe that they can run every rack they play. By professional I mean the Ladies and Gentlemen that list "Professional Pool Player" on tax returns. The ones that devote a whole life for a game. That's a true professional. After 55 years of of playing mostly amateur play I still love the Game. I've won more than I've lost. Met some of the coolest people on the planet and lived in many pool halls. I remember when it was twenty one years of age no minors allowed. It's played different today, it has to be. EVERYTHING CHANGES........if you doubt that look in the mirror. Shot clock with no extension. Had to make a fast decision. Be curious what he'd say today in hindsight.
