- Ellie Slama is not only a friend of mine, she is one of the BEST women's amateur golfers in the United States! She finished T-9th at this year's U.S. Women's Amateur championship. She also played in the Augusta National Women's Amateur where the top 72 women's amateur golfers in the world are invited! Well, Ellie was in town for the holidays, and we decided to play an 18-hole match-play. This video is PART THREE continuation of a 3-part series of this match. We took a poll on Instagram, and my followers voted that Ellie should not give me any strokes, despite me being an 8-handicap and Ellie being one of the top amateur golfers in the US. In each part of this 3-part series, we will also take a break from the golf action to talk with Ellie about some of her incredible golf experiences.

Welcome to my TH-cam Channel Golf Blog! My name is Matt Williams. I'm an amateur golfer that has only been playing golf consistently for a few years now. Last year I was about an 18 handicap. I was a 16 handicap to start 2020, and now am down to an 8.7. I started this golf channel for a variety of reasons. 1.) To show viewers what I am doing and working on as I continue my quest to hopefully become a scratch golfer one day. 2.) To review golf clubs/equipment to give people a club review from an amatuer mid-handicap perspective. 3.) To share my ever-growing passion for this beautiful game we call golf. 4.) To just have a ton of fun on the golf course! I sure hope you find all my content useful, helpful, but most of all..... entertaining!
Fun to watch! Poor Matt, watched your swing and over top it went. I HATE when I start doing that! :) Come to Ocean Park in WA and play my local course (surfside golf course)...its fun...maybe I can give you a run for your money! Thanks for the fun video series!
Haha, yeah, I started out solid. But it just progressively got worse and worse as the day went on. Working on continued swing changes, but slip back into old habits sometimes.
And I don’t get up your way very often, if at all. But if you find yourself headed down to Salem, I’d play with you anytime!
@@MattWilliamsGolf I am looking at new irons...went to Redtail in Beaverton and hit JPX hot metals and the Taylormade sim max...did not really like either. Have you tried the titlelist T100 or T200? Also looking for a new driver...have you tried the Titleist TSi2 or the Ping G410?
@@markk171 Yeah, I have reviewed the Titleist T100. Here’s the video I did for that one: th-cam.com/video/kXvTgc7SPpM/w-d-xo.html . I absolutely want to do a run at the T200 next as the T100 was totally not right for me given where my game is currently at. I have hit both the Titleist TSI 2 and the Ping G410. I haven’t done full reviews of either. However, I’m soooo stoked to test out the TSI 3/4 and the G425 as soon as I can get my hands on them. Having hit the models you mentioned, I’m honestly more stoked to hit the Ping. I just haven’t dialed in on the Titleist drivers (ever), and certainly didn’t smash the TSI2. But I’m keeping an open mind because of how many incredible players love them.
@@MattWilliamsGolf Thanks for the reply...from a driver stand point...anything would be an upgrade..I hit a 20+ year old Adams Tight Lies 363 9 degree driver. Don't get me wrong, I can carry it 240 (260 when I make a REALLY REALLY good swing). The irons I really want to try are the titleist T200, taylormade P790 and maybe even the Ping G410. I tried the Mizuno JPX921 hot metals and the TaylorMade Sim and SIm Max irons....bleh..did not really like them much.
