I live here in the U.S.A. As a kid living in a city with a housed neighborhood (as not in hi rise apartment buildings), I would shoot across the street at the neighbors roof, from our attic, which was always loaded with pigions. I used a pellet gun. No scope. Dead birds covered the neighbors roof all summer. He was a good neighbor and friend of the family. But he freaked out as to why there was so many dead birds only on his roof. He has passed away years ago but never knew it was me.
Have a thought where any misses might land, especially in a built up area! It is also illegal, in the UK at least, for any pellet to leave your boundaries. You could end up in a load of trouble.
That’s because wildlife is just like us, has a soul, and lives needs water,shelter, and food, and yet SOME PEOPLE don’t realize that they are taking lives from peace.

They are quite remarkable birds that would never have become a problem bird species had buildings in cities not provided either ideal nesting sites or where livestock feed-lots did not provided the best feeding opportunity. The actual problem pigeons are feral pigeons that roost in cities but descend upon rural crops in flocks numbering in thousands.
Not offended but what 'Humane' shooting is going on here when you collect the bodies and then may have to re-shoot them long after they set in the field, that isn't a clean kill that is Humane for sure.

Love this type of shooting I remember years ago shooting 45 doves in half an hour with a break barrel HW99 in .22 on a dairy farm in the uk we get no where near as many pigeons or doves as you !
No you just get a semi auto air rifle instead of one that needs to be manually chambered like the ones he's using in this video. But I'm sure someone can create a air powered Gatling gun
Hi Matt, maybe the off switch you talked about is because the shot placement is right on or right next to the birds brain stem, it's similar where the center mass shot are made for the snipers just below the chin (adam's apple) that would shot off any nerve stimuli from the brain to the rest of the body.

I can understand your situation here in my home town in Texas you go over to the Wal-Mart parking lot there's massive of crow's and swallows all over the just flying and landing on the lot and car's and probably on there roof. I would've offered my pest control service to them but they probably wouldn't take it also the last thing I need again is for someone to call the cops on me again for doing an AirRiflePestControl I own a Benjamin Armada .22cal and since it looks like an AR15 or Sniper rifle people would definitely start trippin and panicking 😒😕.

We had birds around the parking lot but not this many even some flew in the store hanging around the metal beams up top or in the back docks. But now thanks to customers dropping food on the ground,& sometimes feeding them on purpose they all know where to fly and get more food than any other place around town. They are basically causing there car's and themselves to get 💩 on and if the buildings ventilation has got 💩 around it and in it their breathing it in witch will eventually cause them too get sick. Kroger is also got the same problem now too on there roof swallows everywhere 😕

You know what would be even more fun and effective? Get a team of 4 or 5 more person, teach them the art of shooting your air rifles, and have a shootout competition. That will effectively reduce the vectors’ population quite a lot for fun!

Hitting power is important! I have used my friend’s cheap .22 rifle with 20 ft/lb but I have found that you have to get up close to make good kills.

I hate them crows at Walmart too. I stay in Plano TX and sometimes I think twice going to shop during the day.

Time working out your clicks and also strelok Pro is a good app which calculates it for you providing you enter the correct data it requires.
The clicks on a scope are mesures to compensate for bullet drop at far distances. Depending from the distance, a certain click will be chosen
