@@lukelizotte2813 we are extremely fortunate for the land we get to hunt, that’s for sure. I grew up hunting northern WI Marinette Co. national forest so i know the struggle lol. Opening morning was the first time this year i sat that chunk of woods so i basically hunted a sanctuary opening day
I'm a new subscriber, watched the whole video, great content. It has to be so hard to get the shots on camera, you did a great job. I thought it was awesome to see just how the deer smarten up throughout the season. Great video!! Jay from central Pa.
@@jaycroyle8761 thank you very much! It is extremely hard self filming deer hunts, especially with my older camera equipment. Hoping to update camera and gear next year. It’s pretty crazy to see how the deer react and adapt to hunting pressure. Smart critters!
Way to work for that Doe! I got a good buck as well, hope to get a doe late season now. I got a heater body suit I use as well! I would not be in the woods without it. Keep up the good work! Great camera work! Let’s go Ice some eyes!
@@darnellsuprise7482 thanks, congratulations on your buck! That heater body suit really impressed me.. definitely won’t be the last time i use that for gun season. Absolutely can’t wait to get on the ice!!!🧊
I have the same work cut out for me next week. A buck and a doe chilling in the garage. Dad's tag and mine. Looking for a big boy yet this weekend with the 50 cal. I also watched a bunch of little stuff walk by just like this. Lugging my $40 lawn chair stand back in a couple more times with orange head to toe.
What a cool face on that deer at 9.26! Nice work on your buck! You still had good rut activity in your area! Wonder what was up with that small limping buck? Car hit? Albino marten? Excellent camera work throughout and a hell of a shot on that doe! You put your time in. Congrats on a great season!
Thank you very much! I never saw any blood/ bullet wounds on that little buck so I’m assuming, car or natural causes. That little white fella was actually a weasel, they turn white in the winter. I’ve never seen a live one in the wild before so that was really cool. Hope you had a successful season also!! 🦌
GREAT video as always!! Definitely documents how the hunting slows and the deer smarten up during the 9 day gun season! Are you hunting the private land you previously hunted or new spot? And great clip of your son!!!!!!!
@@janekese2778 thanks!! Yeah it’s crazy how deer start to feel the pressure and find ways to avoid it, smart critters! This is a different property than i hunted the last few years. Lost access to the other property where i filmed a lot of my previous videos. My son a hunk 😂 love him to pieces!
Black phase of the grey squirrel is taking over in some parts of the state, lots of them around by you as well I see. Very rarely saw a black squirrel in the woods around where my land is in Columbia county up until 2000 or so and now it is rare to see a grey squirrel. Makes me very sad I paid very good money to mount what at the time (early 90's) was a extremely rare squirrel and now throw a stick and you hit one. Congrats on the meat for the family.

@@mattdebroux9480 thanks! Honestly whatever you can afford will work. Camo is just like anything else, the more you pay the better it is. Awsome video! Congrats on the harvest. I was able to harvest a nice 8 pointer opening day. Very happy to have more meat. Sucks that the neighbors would take your deer. In your bow hunting video you are on public do you also bow hunt this land?
@@walleyewisher3017 thanks, congratulations on your harvest as well!! Ah yes the “spoiled private land Hunter” I’m one of those. We spend $1000s on taxes each year, plant food plots, work with the state to manage the woods with logging programs. And then are blessed to have the over abundant Timberwolves drive off/kill all the deer on the land. I’m so spoiled to spend all that money, time and effort, to not harvest a buck in 11 years due to the deer population crashing thanks to wolves. Lucky me!
Why say anything? Jealous much? I hunt public strictly and harvested a good buck in clark County this year after hunting there 5 years. I enjoy the outdoors don't matter to me how others hunt.
21:21 No offense, but that's some terrible shot placement on that buck especially considering the buck was less that 100 yards away when you shot it. You're lucky to have recovered it. Get some range time in with that rifle and experience with marksmanship fundamentals.
