An honest review without any sugarcoating. The quality of the inflight meal really depends on the station it was uplifted. Generally, food uplifted in Singapore, Japan, etc are better in quality and taste. Those from the US are probably quite bad but that is just my humble opinion. Thank you for bringing us on your journey.
There are plenty of SQ Suites reviews on the internet, all of them filled with grinning bloggers entertaining their viewers with how great the experience is. This is the first time I've seen a straight up critique of the product. Really appreciate your insight. I do hope you'll do a FC 777 review sometime - that's the only option left to NYC these days.
I've only ever flown SQ in cattle class, but they are easily the most consistent airline I have ever flown - better than Emirates and others. Some really decent food, good service on board and never an issue before the flight with delays etc. Will happily fly them anytime - although not the cheapest.
Interesting thing you mention about the consistency part - my friends who are flight attendants at Thai Airways joke that “talking to a SQ flight attendant is like talking to a robot” the explanation being: their training is so damn thorough and they pretty much have to follow a very specific procedure whenever they do something. And just my cup of tea, they seem to cheap out on the weirdest things… for example the short haul meals “designed for a cause.” They don’t serve bottled water onboard… only filtered tap water… when Thai airways does a smoked salmon salad on the same route but SQ provided a tinned tuna salad.
A bit disappointed after seeing your review. Sort of re-confirms my thoughts. It's a slightly aqward product with the seat position. Gutted you can't even look out the window when taking off. Great review 👍
Thanks Kevin for calling out the silly design of the suites. I've never been a fan of the chair stuck in the middle of the room. When I fly I want to look out the window. SQ service will always help improve the experience, but their seat design on suites and business class are questionable. Keep up the good work 👍
Apparently when Airbus designed the A380, they made the plane really quiet for the crew to sleep peacefully. But it was so quiet to the point that they have to add white noise for the crew to actually sleep peacefully
I am in the top tier of solitaire and I fully agree with your comments about the "new suites". Wasted Space. The business class seats and beds are terrible compared to SIAs older beds where the entire back folded down. The seats are just too hard. I've been flying SIA almost exclusively for over 30 years and their quality has gone Down Down Down
I know that you are known as the flip flop traveler but please bear in the mind the other passengers when you wear flip flops on business class or first class flights. It is really not very considerate for other passengers to have to see your feet on what should be a premium experience. You go on about all the details that impact the quality of a premium experience but when you wear flip flops on the flight you are undermining the experience for other passengers. Please dress appropriately for the sake of other passengers and in line with the experience that airlines are trying so hard to create.
Respectfully, If anyone is offended by what I choose to wear on my feet, that's their issue, not mine. This is not even to mention the fact that literally everyone wears pajamas and slippers throughout most of the flight. I was on a First Class flight a few months ago. 10 Pax in total. Every single one of them (besides me) were wearing sweat pants or yoga pants. Good on them for being comfortable. It's not 1959 anymore lol.
Although there are a few good airline reviewers out there on TH-cam, the amount of thoroughness and thoughtful care, and detail that you include in your reviews, Kevin, outclasses them all.
Taste, perhaps. Presentation, no. All First Class (and non-Regional Business Class) main dishes are generally plated by the crew on board. Thanks for watching 🩴
Great review. Though made me a bit sad as I watch your economy flight vids during the week and on Fat Friday up my PC chair to First. Also I just watched your Aegean economy which was a real surprise and delight for you and I knew it would rock. This is the first video of your I have not watched to the end, not because of you but them. So disappointing. When you upgrade to first it should not matter, nor should flying from Dehli. I bet if it was Heathrow ... Anyhow, more Singapore, then Etihad ( are those suites chaires not too upright and it looks like a coffin ? ) and I know you have ANA or JAL at some point to make the world a better place again. :) I hope MEA are still flying in Europe, they were up there with Aegean apparently, their home country has sadly suffered a lot.
i do agree singapore airline food is disappointing. i was beyond shock when flying premium economy from EWR to SIN. the food was so bad it's hard to describe in words even if you just look at it as economy standard (not premium economy).
Had the opportunity to experience this once from Singapore to Mumbai. Kinda ruined air travel for me. The economy and business seats now feel too small.
What a shame. Grateful for the honest review. Being an Aussie, I 'd love to try it due to the sheer distances we have to negotiate. We will NEVER travel with any of the Arab airlines so the better first class offerings are that much smaller! Excellent review!
my experience with inflight food is that it depends on where you're flight is taking off from. for me, if out of the US, the food is terrible. When taking off from Asia, pretty good!
hey Kevin, I appreciate your review a lot!! many people only have good things to say about sia suites without mentioning about how they could improve on so i appreciate your neutral and objective feedback used throughout your video!! I really look forward to your (revisiting of) sin-jfk in business class!!
also your unique scoring system for this particular flights is very interesting, i think the ratio of the scores are comparable with the expectations and needs of an avg first class flyer and i appreciate that small touch a lot!
You make me laugh! Sarcasm suits you! The layout does seem weird. No showers?? Again weird. Satay is divine. The staff sounds wonderful. Meal is beautifully presented. The main course appears very disappointing and unexpected from what I know of Singapore Airlines. Sounds like whomever designed this suite was pretty haphazard and didn’t really care about exacting standards. Sad
Kia Ora Kevin!! I love Singapore Airlines!! I have never flown First Class (I will one day though), however love the Interiors but more so the Service is phenomenal (even in Economy). I loved how the Flight Attendant offered you an alternative Amenity Kit to make up for the first option!! Sad to hear about the Food but I am sure the Krug would of made up for it :-). Thanks for your honest Reviews Kevin and I am so more looking forward seeing your review of The Private Room which I am excited about!!! Have a wonderful day 🙂
Don’t get tooooooo excited about the Private Room. As I mentioned in my community post about it… it’s beautiful, but it’s small and maybe a bit lacking compared to what a clean sheet design could/should be in 2023. Thanks for watching 🩴
A problem with SQ are accountants spoiling the experience. They add cost saving measures everywhere. And give excuses like customers not wanting showers, or customers wanting enviromental packaging(in economy class) and remove many little things that makes SQ special. Agreed on the wasted space. SQ wastes the huge space potential. This level of comfort could be put in a smaller space. They could have put a bigger and better seat/bed/table/screen.(no need for gimmicks like chairs that rotate around) Emirates 777(1-1-1) suites are so much smaller but uses the space far better. I personally disagree on service usually being 6-9. They are always 9-10 for me, even in economy class. Noone else comes close to SQ's consistency across all flights. Their economy class service is better than business in most other airlines
Its quite disappointing but SQ is known to have lackluster food at their standards comparing to other Asian airlines. I have flown other Asian airlines both to/from the US in business class and the food were always amazing. I would avoid SQ usually and would book other Asian airlines biz class simply because I've heard from friends how disappointing the SQ food was on their flights
Tbh that's the last of their configuratations I'd actually want to try. Would rather have an actual AI product to see how things are holding up. Thanks for watching 🩴
@@tfftHi. The I have flown all 777 of Air India (Old, Delta and Etihad). Old aircraft are as follows - Broken seats, Broken plugs, missing usb ports, bad entertainment selection (if working). Economy seats are well padded and comfortable, Business class suffers a similar fate. Crew were great and I genuinely feel bad for crew having to deal with all this. Etihad - Economy class seat is not as comfortable. The entertainment system is mid, needs firm press and viewing angle is narrow. Every seat works as expected, with plane being clean. Although it seemed that plane was a bit too loud. Business product is old etihad, very mid nothing to write home about but still works fine. Delta- Have not flown economy but Premium economy seats are amazing and so are the business. Considering that future seats on air India are going to be similar it’s a great showing all around. Food was good, and washrooms were especially clean. On one of my flights even head crew showcased their delight of the washroom flush mechanism and dustbin opening mechanism by pressing button by legs mechanism on the plane. Crew was good on all flights, it’s truly the hard product which is holding them back. Note - I only flew them on BOM DEL route and no long haul. Although I expect it to not change a lot on longer flights
@@tfft Sadly, the newer A350-900 will also not be having the new AI configuration. They'll contain ex-Aeroflot product with AI branding. If everything goes by the plan, we'll see the new configuration on the 777-300ER by the 2nd half of 2024 :(
I tried their Suite last Sept ex-SIN. I paid full price. The private boarding at T3 - seamless, the full menu food (especially wagyu satay) at Private Room in transit - Splendid. The on-board service and amenities - not worth for the premium, I would rather stick to Business class and PE. I like your details and honest comments, Kevin. Keep it up.
I have to be super honest with you; I Adore your hardcore reviews of these luxury brands; I know that may be not nice but when you are brutally honestly about companies that charge A lot of money and their products is sub par are crappy I’m so glad you call them out on it
I completely agree with you. When I saw the new first class suite of SQ a380 it amazed me and disappointed me at the same time. Amazed me for its sheer space and disappointed me for its impracticality. I am just a university student who was lucky enough to upgrade myself on SQ a350 business class when flying back to my country and even for me the first class suite made me confused. Seems so unnecessary to turn your chair when dining, watching on IFE and so much more. They seemed to have sacrificed so much just to make a proper double bed. Although I’d be happy to try haha xD And nice video tho ❤️ I always have high expectations when I click on your videos and you never disappoint. Keep it up ❤️
Thanks very much. If you ever have the chance, fly on Etihad's A380 Apartments. They are quite literally the SQ Suites with all of the wasted space deleted haha.
Perhaps if they didn't waste so much space in the suite layout they could have had 2 more F Rev passengers and then been able to carry those 50 gallons of water 🤣
@@tfft heh I won’t pretend I will ever understand all the negatives you mentioned in the video. They of course should have the reasons. Anyway, stay safe, fly safe in the current covid days.
Great video as always. As I watch this from my la-z-boy rocker in total comfort I am still waiting for a first class seat that rocks in addition to swivel. It would be easy enough I think to lock in place for take off and landing….
Ive flown SQ-F many times, and i can confirm that when the flights r coming into Singapore, the catering usually suck. But when the flight departs and fly out of singapore, the meal is usually amazing. SQ is better able to control its catering quality much better than when in foreign bases
While SQ suites is on my bucket list, I wonder if airlines get tunnel vision when designing their products - like ignoring the need for a shower on long haul flights. I wonder what the experience would have been had you had the full first class dining experience too. Re the strobing - if you can't change the frame rate, then there is fiddly fix that will remove it or reduce it. You copy the clip twice and and layer them on top of the original. The shift the first layer across by one frame and the top clip by 2 frames. You have the adjust the opacity of all the clips (can't remember by how much) and then voila.
So interesting to hear your take on this product after having seen so many fawning reviews. Thank you for your honesty, I found it very enlightening! 🙏🏼
It’s a very double edged sword with this one. I understand all of the rave reviews, but just can’t help but ‘see’ what it really could have been with that much space. Thanks as always for watching 🙏🏻
Totally agree with all your points. Have done SQ Suites back in 2019 on the SIN-ZRH route in 1A which is even slightly more spacious. And Game Changer earlier this month on the DXB-STN route. EK’s suite layout just makes sooo much more sense. And a lot more attention to detail compared to SQ suites imho. I also find SQ’s seats (and beds for that matter) way to firm. Literally had to sit on my pillow for my last flight in SQ A380 business from JFK to FRA. Ground experience is quite a different matter though. Really enjoyed the privacy and personal touch during check-in in Singapore as well as the private immigration line. I only experienced SQ’s Private Room before its recent refurbishment but found it far superior compared to EK’s ridiculously large First lounges in Dubai.
I agree about the designs. EK’s was clearly designed by someone who 1. Actually flies and 2. Is designing to make a crowd pleaser. At this point, SQ’s seat designers just seem to be stubborn and concerned with losing face instead of designing seats that a broad array of pax would enjoy. Even though I love their business class seats (mainly bc I always have a bulkhead) it’s clear to see their stubbornness in the 15 year evolution of that seat as well. Thanks for watching 🩴
Have to disagree with this review. Flew SQ first class recently and it was excellent. No issue with the bed and all the food and drinks were wonderful. The space of the suites gives a real sense of openness - you don't want to cram every part of the suite with "stuff". Much better than most FC suites - and better than Emirates.
OMG Thank You! Never understood the Suites layout. Who wants to face the attendant as they serve food! How awkward and no-one has ever noted this in a review. Looks so stupid and all the vloggers are there strapped into the seat during service which makes it look even more incongruous. Food looks underwhelming as usual for SQ upper cabins. Shrimp on lettuce and that dessert looks dire, like a supermarket cake. Love how you add the cost of the booze, saves me searching.
Great review Kevin, that lighting flicker is really annoying when it happens - so much ruined footage. What frame rate were you filming with? I''m flying Suites from Hong Kong and on to London next month I'm curious to see what worked/didn't!
Normally 60fps but in the case of this video I recorded 24 and 60 separately for nearly every clip and used the one that looked better for the final video. The older days when lights were a set 50 or 60 Hertz it was easy to adjust frame rate, but with certain LEDs, you could bend over backwards and they’ll still flicker when the shot is panning (but sometimes no flicker when stationary). Idk, it happens so rarely that at this point, I hate that it happened, but it’s not worth changing my kit for. Thanks for watching 🩴
I don't understand most of your criticism on the hard product. It is always good if you don't feel that you are flying, that is the ultimate comfort of the huge and silent A380. If you want to feel the flight then you have to choose SIA's tractor in the air, the 777. But that is clearly not what First Class customers want. They want smooth and silent transport. However, I agree that the food was poor, food in First Class must always be First Class, not matter if you pay full fare or buy a last minute upgrade. I don't understand that SIA sells First Class upgrades without full First Class mela service, that is indeed inadequate.
Your opinion about enjoying not feeling like you are flying is perfectly valid, but it is certainly not mine (or everyones) lol. If I had a choice of this hard product on a 777 or on an A380 I would have chosen 777 easily, but it's only available on an A380, so here we are 😉
One funny thing to note... my wife and I flew SQ business class FRA-JFK (777-300 ER) it was only our 2nd time in business class. We both loved the seat. I thought the service was amazing. My wife though (who I guess is used to being ignored in economy) thought the FAs were too attentive.😅😅😅😅 I told her next time just put on the do not disturb button.
SQ is an airline which takes cues from guests very well. On your next flight, simply say, "I'll call you if I need anything else" as they bring you a drink or whatever you expect to be the last thing you'll need for a while and they'll be sure it's honored and communicated if they go on break.
Great point about the wasted space in the cabin - I like smart use of space, but this just feels a bit lazy, especially with the lack of size/comfort to the bed. I mean, obviously, if I win the lottery, getting an SQ suite would probably be one of the first things I do so I can visit a friend in Australia, but it's good to get some balance on here.
Yeah, don't get me wrong- give me a pile of cash and I'll happily fly it everyday, but give me some design software and I'll also be happy to redesign it haha.
odd , I too think I prefer the idea of SQ's first product on the 777. I'm not a big fan of the whole suite concept - lock yourself in a room for 13 hours - it's not a suite is it,? I doubt "box class" or "cell class" would market well. One downside of the 777 though is the noise - I find the 777 and particularly the 747 quite noisy. The A380 is much quieter
I actually prefer the noise though 😂 quite often when sleeping at home I’ll use a ‘brown noise’ machine which is very similar to a 777 inflight. Thanks for watching 🩴
Blaming customers' feedback is SQ's modus operandi when defending their cost cutting measures. From the lack of an automatic provision of an amenity kit in business class, to switching to cheap looking paper boxes for economy class meals, it's always because of "customers' feedback". Somehow, only SQ's customers believe that less is more.
Agreed but it’s such a weird dynamic. If cost cutting was the real issue then why design a custom suite from the ground up to begin with. It’s like saying “none of these mansions in Miami are good enough for me so I’m going to buy an island and build my own… but I don’t want to be wasteful so we don’t need to install a kitchen…”
This review gives a different perspective in comparison with other SQ suites reviews. I agree that the design is questionable, but I personally don't agree with the shower aspect - water is extremely heavy, and if they add a shower, they'll have to remove other things to make up for it. Personally I find that adding more luxury in exchange for a shower is worth it. Overall - nice review, love the effort put into the graphics and additional info. Well done mate.
Oh my goodness that really does feel like a waste of an upgrade. They've more or less built the Suite for anyone looking at a chance to board a short trip on this class for the vanity of it and not a real premium passenger who demands the luxury extras for their trip. Customers who are 'in the market' should avoid this booking class for long haul travel plans. 💸
Ground experience, Meals can all vary based on your departure point. That being said, SQ still has the best first class in the sky. You can make an argument for EK being better but most people that have reviewed said SQ was better. Its not really fair to put EY in the conversation because the 380's are going away very soon (according to their ceo)
Hard product alone, EK’s new ‘game changer’ blows SQ out of the water. That is a seat I’d happily pay for again (and again and again…). Thanks for watching 🩴
It feels like they are trying to accomplish everything in the suite, but ended up not having a great seat, bed or space utilization... The food was honestly sad even if it was business class food.
Agree. Kind of like they told someone to "design a 50sq foot luxurious assisted living bedroom that prioritizes space for dancing"... but never told them it was meant to be on an airplane lol.
I use the lowest non-auction price on Wine Searcher for all of my prices, choosing the lowest US based price if available. I thought $105 was low also, but it was a real price at the time I searched. Right now the cheapest I can see is in the $160s. Thanks for watching 🩴
in my opinion flying on first class especially in Singapore airlines (one of the most expensive airlines in the world) just for a 5 hour flight is honestly not worth it. Id love to personally experience it but also for a longer flight suppose one from Singapore to Europe perhaps? I love how you’re completely unbiased towards every airline because i have been seeing every vlogger hype up these big airlines like SQ and EK way much more than they deserve honestly and you dont get the clear idea from them.
SQ now have 3 A380 returns to Syd and 1 777. I would take first in the 777. Very wide plush seat in a 1-2-1 seat that turns into an amazing bed. I find the cocoon of an enclosed suite constricting. I prefer being part of the cabin and the goings on. So Qatar Qantas Air France first do that well. In Singapore I think the Qatar and Qantas First lounges are more interesting than the SQ Private Room. A great review and 0% tool influence. Many thanks.
At the moment its 2x 388, 1x 77W & 1x 359 maybe during high season back to 3x. But yeah, I much prefer a more traditional layout, which surprised me frankly. Thanks for watching 🩴
Great in depth review. I imagine catering would have been better out of Singapore. I love the A350 business product and won’t bother to upgrade based on your review
Exactly this. Once the novelty wears off, it looks/feels like an awkward, sad hotel room, rather than a luxurious flying experience. I 100% prefer their 777's First.
Chairman: How are we going to make these suites different? Project Director: We're going to make a pod hotel in the sky. Without showers becuase our customers don't like showers, they told us. Chairman: Fantastic.
I've flown both SQ and EK and I think their clientele are quite different in my opinion. I really don't think an onboard shower is a deal breaker forSQ customers.
They are very different customers, yes, but agree to disagree about whether they would enjoy the shower. Unless someone simply doesn't enjoy being clean, there's really no reason not to want it lol
Yes! I just don’t get it. With that space you could have a double bed and a comfortable lounge chair or just par it down and go a la Etihad. Thanks for watching 🩴
There was a UK TV documentary about the design and build of these suites, when they were first introduced. Was on channel 4 IIRC. It was obvious at that point that whoever was in charge of procurement had dropped the ball.
Hey Kevin , I totally agree with your assessment of the product and the terrible use of the given real estate attributed to it ( shower please )I experienced this from Sydney/ London and I too was disappointed with the layout of the suite and the ever so hard bed!! Friends were calling me pretentious lol as most think this is one of the very best. The food ,however ,was certainly much better than that swill they served you - it looked so dry - it definitely needed some sort of yoghurt and cucumber dressing , hopefully your next leg to NY in business will sparkle in comparison - can’t wait - thank you
As always an excellent review. You put a positive for a 'wide inclining bed'. OK, I get the fact that you could sit up whilst TV watching but a 'wide' bed at 26 inches? I think it must have been a typo.
Because relatively speaking, it's still a decent size bed by First class standards, but within the space of the suite specifically, it felt undersized.
Only 12 likes?!?! Insane. This is a tremendous review. I love your honesty about the layout, the chair and the bed while also touching on the things that SQ does well. Such a through review and the information with visuals on the layout and space in Suites compared to other airlines or seat class was very much appreciated. Thank you!
Thank you for your reviews they are amazing!! I was wondering have you done a review of the The Ritz Carlton Singapore, I am staying there and would like to hear your opinion.😁
Bed and Food are the most memorable experience for a first class flight, if that is underwhelming there's no doubt direct cash bookings are fewer than upgrades. Most memorable line if you don't crave shower on 12th hour on an 14 hour flight we can't be friends😆 and Kevin isn't a friend of SQ Suite
I've heard this critique before, being recommended the 77W first over A380 suites. An added benefit is that reward rates tend to be lower as suites is treated as a class above first.
They’ve had up to that many in total in operation but some of the first frames were pulled from service in 2017, just before COVID they were down to 19. Thanks for watching 🩴
As someone who’s never flown first class or business, I’d definitely jump on the chance(if the price was right) to experience this. But man oh man, that kabob platter looked atrocious , even for coach 😅😅 Great video as always and thanks for sharing 😊
Yah, taking one of each of the 3 kebab pieces and putting with some chutney and paratha would be a perfectly acceptable economy meal. Delhi’s tandoor team is slacking. Thanks for watching 🩴
Hey kevin, i dont know if you remember me, but i just wanted to say that im sorry that i misjudged your character. I guess a lot of past baggage was getting in the way of me seeing things clearly, and i just got really paranoid. It wasnt fair to you, and, again, im sorry. Anyways, i really am enjoying this review and look forward to the emirates game changer sometime in the near future (hopefully🤞🏻).
@tfft all ima say is that my prefrontal cortex was not prefrontal cortexing. On another note, i really enjoyed your personal take on the experience you had on this flight. At the end of the day, thats what im here for. Im hoping to be able to fly on emirates' gamechanger soon, so ill look forward to your review.🤞🏻 your objectivity and honesty really shined through for me today, and i really trust you.
I suspect this flight might have been double catered in Singapore and was catered without taking into account of any upgrades from J to F for DEL-SIN after aircraft has already departed SIN.
I love when you get to the geeky stuff like how many economy seats would fit in the same first class suite area LOL. One of the many reasons why we love your reviews.
That’s too bad about the food. I flew from Frankfurt to JFK in their 777 first class and the food could’ve been better but some dishes were truly delicious. Especially the satay. I will say that the bed is incredibly wide at 35 inches but it still was quite hard. It would be interesting to see your opinion on the seat and how it compares
Great video and review, just discovered your channel. Agree with many of your observations. On a slightly different note, hope the lost papers at 1:21 weren't too important for anyone in that car.
@@tfft haha yep, it caught my eye when I was watching it; but I had to rewind and actually see it in slow motion (what was that thing that just flew by?).
I subscribe to your idea , how people would say NO to a shower on A380 is beyond me I think this product is perfect for a 12 hour flight with your gf or spouse
@@tfft I remember seeing other TH-cam couples years ago on the same product , they were dining in bed Essentially the crew brought them a huge tray with the meals on the bed
That 72 economy seats statistic is just mind blowing
Yes! Certainly is! Imagine having as much space as 12 economy seats to yourself but STILL not having a really comfortable bed 😂

Dude, they literally give u slippers to wear for the flight with the pyjamas. What are you on about?

Just curious, is the reason for poor food preparation and taste due to the departing country? In this case, India?
Taste, perhaps. Presentation, no. All First Class (and non-Regional Business Class) main dishes are generally plated by the crew on board. Thanks for watching 🩴
I really liked this review as it is just so much more grounded in reality than many other reviews of this same seat I've seen.

You set up the "wasted space" punchline perfectly. By the time you delivered it, everything that came before it meant that the conclusion was obvious.
Thanks very much 🙏🏻
i do agree singapore airline food is disappointing. i was beyond shock when flying premium economy from EWR to SIN. the food was so bad it's hard to describe in words even if you just look at it as economy standard (not premium economy).
Thanks for sharing ✈️
That meal looked shockingly bad. I can't believe SQ served that on first class. Looked like it had been microwaved.
Thanks for watching 🩴
Had the opportunity to experience this once from Singapore to Mumbai. Kinda ruined air travel for me. The economy and business seats now feel too small.
Thanks for sharing ✈️
What a shame. Grateful for the honest review. Being an Aussie, I 'd love to try it due to the sheer distances we have to negotiate. We will NEVER travel with any of the Arab airlines so the better first class offerings are that much smaller! Excellent review!
Thanks for watching 🩴
Agree with your review. Not a fan at all of this hard product. Much prefer 777 seat
Gotta try it myself! Thanks for watching 🩴
my experience with inflight food is that it depends on where you're flight is taking off from. for me, if out of the US, the food is terrible. When taking off from Asia, pretty good!
Thanks for sharing ✈️
So.. to summarize… lavish and outdated I guess. Still dont understand the agent assuring(lying) about first class menu
I don't understand either. Perhaps it is normally possible- he definintely didn't seem like he was making it up. Thanks for watching 🩴
hey Kevin, I appreciate your review a lot!! many people only have good things to say about sia suites without mentioning about how they could improve on so i appreciate your neutral and objective feedback used throughout your video!! I really look forward to your (revisiting of) sin-jfk in business class!!
also your unique scoring system for this particular flights is very interesting, i think the ratio of the scores are comparable with the expectations and needs of an avg first class flyer and i appreciate that small touch a lot!
Thanks very much 🙏🏻
You make me laugh!
Sad
Thanks very much 😉
Kia Ora Kevin!!
I agree about consistency. Even my ‘6-9’ comment has them ranking in the #1 spot for consistency for me. Thanks for watching 🩴
Delhi airport having more daily departures than Singapore is a surprising stat ( I like that you put the airport stats in your reports)
Let's remember that Singapore has no domestic flights 😂 Thanks for watching 🩴
Its quite disappointing but SQ is known to have lackluster food at their standards comparing to other Asian airlines.
I have flown other Asian airlines both to/from the US in business class and the food were always amazing.
I would avoid SQ usually and would book other Asian airlines biz class simply because I've heard from friends how disappointing the SQ food was on their flights
I generally think SQ J has very good main dishes (some of the best) but the 'supporting cast' is very repetative and below SQ standards.
Any flight that loads food from a US airport will be lackluster. You have to try the flight departing from Asia to get their true offering.
I hope you get to try the ex-Delta AI 777-200LR from US to India.
Keep it up.
Thanks for sharing ✈️
Hello man
Lots of ❤ from kerala(india)
Thanks very much 🙏🏻
I have to be super honest with you; I Adore your hardcore reviews of these luxury brands; I know that may be not nice but when you are brutally honestly about companies that charge A lot of money and their products is sub par are crappy I’m so glad you call them out on it
Thanks very much 🙏🏻
I completely agree with you.
Although I’d be happy to try haha xD
And nice video tho ❤️ I always have high expectations when I click on your videos and you never disappoint. Keep it up ❤️
Thanks very much. If you ever have the chance, fly on Etihad's A380 Apartments. They are quite literally the SQ Suites with all of the wasted space deleted haha.
Great review as always but why oh why are the crew still wearing masks! I love to see crews smiling faces. It's so impersonal.
The masking requirement for crew was lifted 6 days after I filmed this 😅
@@tfft that's good news 👍
Seriously one will wanna bathe using aircraft water? The additional water needed to be carried onboard adds to the weight as well, means more fuel.
Anyway, stay safe, fly safe in the current covid days.
will fly from New Delhi to Singapore in December
Enjoy your trip 🗺️
Great video as always. As I watch this from my la-z-boy rocker in total comfort I am still waiting for a first class seat that rocks in addition to swivel. It would be easy enough I think to lock in place for take off and landing….
Thanks very much 🙏🏻 My brain immeditally went to 'pinch hazard' which- if any airline has ever considered it- I imagine they also thought of.
Ive flown SQ-F many times, and i can confirm that when the flights r coming into Singapore, the catering usually suck. But when the flight departs and fly out of singapore, the meal is usually amazing. SQ is better able to control its catering quality much better than when in foreign bases
It's a shame they can't get a bit more consistency. Thanks for watching 🩴
So their old style looks like Emirates new style?
More like their old style looks like Emirates older style lol
While SQ suites is on my bucket list, I wonder if airlines get tunnel vision when designing their products - like ignoring the need for a shower on long haul flights. I wonder what the experience would have been had you had the full first class dining experience too. Re the strobing - if you can't change the frame rate, then there is fiddly fix that will remove it or reduce it. You copy the clip twice and and layer them on top of the original. The shift the first layer across by one frame and the top clip by 2 frames. You have the adjust the opacity of all the clips (can't remember by how much) and then voila.
Thanks very much 🙏🏻
Is it possible that the short routes aren't good service and food like emirates?
I'd say it's very case by case.
@@tfft i think you got to report back if you do. I plan on taking the bom to sin and back and I'll see if the theory is true
Seat graphics so good you had to put the watermark on it 😂
Nice video as usual!
To be fair, they’ve had watermarks for over a year… learned that lesson very early on 😂 Thanks for watching 🩴
Thankyou Kevin for an insight into this SQ First Class product! Great video! Cannot wait for the next.
Appreciate that!
We all have our own opinions. Thanks for watching 🩴
Thanks for watching 🩴
A for effort ❤❤ p/s I literally just redeemed PVGSINLHR round trip for 10/2024, PVG A380 & LHR 777. Hope you enjoyed your flight. 😂😂
Enjoy your trip 🗺️
Intriguing review !
Size does not ......... lets not go there !
Main course looked unappetising grrrr
It’s not about how big, it’s about how you use it… seems the same logic always holds true lol. Thanks for watching 🩴
odd , I too think I prefer the idea of SQ's first product on the 777.
Love SQ Service Delivery! Atrocious catering… You deserve better. Hoping that SQ listen to a true SME.
Peace of I
They made up for it on the next flight 😅 Thanks as always for the support!
Appreciate that! Thanks for watching 🩴
Flip Flop Nation report in!

I just booked this Suite (3A) from Frankfurt to Singapore..... I hope it will be as awesome as it looks! :)
Enjoy your trip 🗺️
Widely regarded as the best first class, I will say this…if SQ is a 82/100….then every other airline wont pass the 80/100 mark lol.
Hmmmm, that’s probably a no lol.
Thanks for watching 🩴
$105 for Johnny Walker Blue label? Let me know where you can get it at that price since its closer to $200 in LA
Sure, I would have much preferred a 14 hour flight in the Suite, but as you said... they're expensive 😂
Yeah for sure- also curious whether F catering is available for upgrade pax leaving from SIN. Thanks for watching 🩴
Like You I Miss The Showers And I Miss Aboard Bar.Great Trip Report

Good review, I flew this last year and agree. I flew the old suites and actually liked them better....
Thanks for sharing ✈️
Echoes my own thoughts exactly re the hard product: some poor design choices. What a wasted opportunity :(
Gonna look that up! Thanks!
The food ,however ,was certainly much better than that swill they served you - it looked so dry - it definitely needed some sort of yoghurt and cucumber dressing , hopefully your next leg to NY in business will sparkle in comparison - can’t wait - thank you
Sparkle, it shall! Thanks for watching 🩴
I flew both A380 and 777 all in first to and from London. It was not like that you shown.
Thanks for watching 🩴
As always an excellent review. You put a positive for a 'wide inclining bed'. OK, I get the fact that you could sit up whilst TV watching but a 'wide' bed at 26 inches? I think it must have been a typo.
Because relatively speaking, it's still a decent size bed by First class standards, but within the space of the suite specifically, it felt undersized.
@@tfft Appreciate your explanation, understand. For me the suite reminded me of a private hospital room.
An average Singaporean is 5 ft tall .
Maybe the bed lenght was enough for them
.
Designing a product for 0.0067% (Singapore’s) of the world seems a bit silly, even if the 5’ comment was
True lol.

Only 12 likes?!?! Insane. This is a tremendous review. I love your honesty about the layout, the chair and the bed while also touching on the things that SQ does well. Such a through review and the information with visuals on the layout and space in Suites compared to other airlines or seat class was very much appreciated. Thank you!
Not sure what the ‘12 likes’ refers to?
Thank you for your reviews they are amazing!! I was wondering have you done a review of the The Ritz Carlton Singapore, I am staying there and would like to hear your opinion.😁
No I haven't. No plans for any Singapore properties in the near future. Thanks for watching 🩴
Yeah, lots of upgrades on this route doesn’t surprise me… but 5/6 is a lot haha. Thanks very much for the support 🙏🏻
I've heard this critique before, being recommended the 77W first over A380 suites. An added benefit is that reward rates tend to be lower as suites is treated as a class above first.
Lower and easier to grab (since everyone wants suites!). Definitely something I'm looking out for!

Prior to the pandemic SQ actually had 24 Airbus A380 aircraft.

No surprise on the food. India isn't known for great catering.

The geeky stuf is the best partttttt. 😂

@@tfft haha. I managed to book my flight with 97,000 Kris Flyer miles and $121. It was a steal. Especially considering business class was 87,000 miles

And another level up with the schematic presentation. Going from strength to strength, Kevin.
