I think it would work well on a crop body but I haven't tested it with one. You would have to adjust the field of view number by 1.6x to get the true field of view other than that it should work fine. Cheers!
How is the AF performance of the G2 lens with the EOS R??? especially with moving subjects....Is the AF performance with the eos R better as compared to a Canon 5D mk IV???
Hello I found the AF to be very fast and accurate in my testing but I didn't really try to track fast moving subjects. I would guess the AF performance on the R is pretty close to the same as it would be on an EF mount camera. I don't have the 5D to test with though. Hope this helps. Cheers.
I would say at f/2.8 and 24mm there is a slight vignette on mine. It's not too bad to my eye. I believe you can turn on lens correction in the camera settings and that should help. I will try this lens on my RP and let you know what is see.
I did try it on the RP and I do see a pretty noticeable vignette like you are seeing. It doesn't appear to be as bad on the EOS R. The vignette seems to clear up at around 28-30mm though. Hope this helps. Cheers
I use this setup for a year. Its rly good. I wish there was a little less vignette while shooting a video. In pictures you can cure that with a click of a button. And you get the stabilisation. Love it. The only issue I had: if you shoot a video with autofocus, put the camera down for a while, then pick it up, auto focus may freez. It's probably because something was very close to the lens and it was constantly trying to focus on it ... and it takes a little brake. Flip on off switch and everything will reset.
I'm having this same problem and thought the lens was malfunctioning. Thanks for speaking about it! Is there any fix for it now ? I'm working around it by disabling the auto-off settings.
What is fluorine coating? I never heard of this before is someking of antismudge coating or you meant fluorite lens element? Maybe somebody had and were able to fix AF not working properly. Bought used lens which has also small dents on the front element and fungus(?), zoom ring is not turning smoothly and has other heavy use cosmetic problems.
Hi! I just want to know if you experience your focus to freeze while using Tamron 24-70 g2? It usually freeze after it slept while not using it. I just bought a tap in console and update it but it still occurs. My solution as for now is only to switch OFF and ON for it to refresh but its annoying having that issue. Thank's!
Hello I have not noticed that issue but I usually turn my camera off if I'm not going to use it for a bit rather than letting the camera go to sleep. Are you using the EOSR?
@@fragouliskarayiannopoulos7181 yes if you are using the EOSR then you have an adapter to fit the EF lens into your EOSR right? That could be the issue even though it seems to work with other lenses. I will check mine again today to see if I can reproduce the issue.
Thanks so much. I don't have the Sigma 24-70 lens to test. I would love to but this is a self funded channel and I just can't afford that lens. So sorry I couldn't help. Thanks for watching and commenting.
Hello I don’t own the canon 24-70 and I likely can’t get a loaner for review. I would love to compare them and I would guess the canon is sharper but the Tamron is a great performer and the price difference is significant. For my money I went with the Tamron even though it’s a EF mount. It performs really well on my EOSR and R6.
I can't say with absolute surety but I can tell you I have used both this and the Tamron 70-200 EF on my EOS-R and R6 on photoshoots and it seems to perform as well as the RF 24-105 I have. AF is great no issues with lock ups or any other problems. AF is fast and accurate. I have been really happy with the performance. Hope this helps.
Thanks so much. It really depends on your needs. The extra focal reach of the 24-105 is great but the f/2.8 on the 24-70 makes it better for low light and shallow depth of field. I got the 24-70 for the f/2.8. I hope this helps. Cheers.
The contrast and sharpness is very good. I have noticed very little CA with this lens. It's there in some cases but not too bad. Hope this helps. Cheers.
@@PhotoGearFun thank you for the insight! I wonder how they compare to one another.. I'm sure the Tamron is good but I would anyhow want to have two other primes to use so I might as well just get the Canon f4 lens if the quality compares..
I find on occasion it doesn’t work as well as a native RF lens but overall it works really well. If I were shooting more action shots than portraits that may be an issue but I got this for portraits and it has worked out well.
I don’t know about the kinefinity but I use this with my Sony a7iii with a Sigma MC-11 and it works pretty well. Hope that helps at least a little. Cheers
For general purposes portraits I think it is. The f/2.8 is nice to have versus the f/4. The extra zoom range in the 24-105 can come in handy though. It’s hard to say if it’s better or worse but I love this lens for portraits
I just want a nice camera lens for my full frame camera and i want it to stay on my camera and not take it off i juat need help in choosing my camera len
I'm thinking about this lens getting for my canon eos r what you suggest? Is there any down side or limitations when comes to recording videos in full HD 60 or 4k 24fps
I haven't used it a ton for video but the little I have it seems to be pretty good. It won't be as good with the AF as a native RF lens but I think it will server you well. That said I use mine mostly for photography. Cheers hope this helps.
well i'm not worry about the lens being heavy but i want to buy the tamron g2 cause i'm not going to spend over a 1000 dollars on a camera lens. i really want to get the 18-35 from sigma and the 24mm 1.4 from sigma and the 70-200 from sigma and the 24-70 from tamron along with the 2 i already have i should be straight right
Sorry yeah I guess I should have put photography in the title. I can tell you it does a pretty good job with video. I used to use this lens for all of my zoom meetings and I never really had an issue with it. It's not exactly silent when focusing but other than that I found it works really well.
I think the 24-70 Tamron EF lens with an EF to RF adapter is a great way to go. I have been using mine on my R6 and EOS R and it works really well. I haven't seen any issues with it so far. Cheers.
You can buy the lens here: (affiliate link): amzn.to/2IFPpY1
Nice review. With the latest firmware update, this lens is working great on my R6
Thanks so much! Cheers
Would this be a good choice for my r7 ? (Worried as it’s a crop sensor ) I mean my rf 85 is fine on my r7

Hi, I use exactly the same lens on my EOS RP and there's a very noticeable vignette on the edge.... is this normal?
