Seen this same scam in Indonesia with Batik Art, and the general premise is you are lead into this empty art shop where you will know immediately if it is a scam because you will not see anyone working on the art. These types of art take a very long time to produce, like Mandalas in India and Batik Art in Indonesia, so if they were to have a deep inventory of truly handmade pieces, they would surely have to be constantly making them. Part of the lie they will tell is about how long it takes to make them, "it takes 3 months to make this small piece, it takes 3 years to make this larger piece" etc, and how to trip them up on that lie is to say "Then why is noone working here?"
