- I made my first commercial game in just 6 months, but I had some big challenges along the way.

Also fyi the game is recorded in HD for most of this video, but it's actually a low-res game. (410x230) I had to record it in HD because paradoxically recording in HD is better in my specific case. It's weird and I don't want to talk about it. - เกม

heres one idea for you, add compatibility for mods, i can see massive potential for mods in this game, then you can take a short break and slowly develop the game, plus you should try advertising the game on discord servers
Good thoughts, thanks! I'm not gonna add modding support unfortunately because my code is all messy and gross. I have been advertising on Discord a bit by doing a couple giveaways on other people's servers. So far it's been helpful.
@@AntiqueGear even if you have italian cheese pepper spaghetti code, adding mod support would let other people turn that shnitzel choclate marshmellow into a fancy sugar cube of improved code, and you can just ask someone to do it for you if you have a good reason like school work

Added to my wishlist! Cool video and cool process! I've been a designer for more than a decade now but I always wanted to make games, so I finally started to work through it. Seeing projects like yours keep me motivated to go further! I've been studying C# for the last 4d and the experience so far has been amazing. For now, I'm just adding new features to a simple snake game so I can practice it as much as possible.

i played the demo, fun game. but i dont see myself really buying it over the lack of depth. i do hope that the op dive-bombing skeletons do get balanced a little, because damn theyre just too strong in a tiny room
Glad you liked the demo! That's ok if you don't want to buy it, it's a bit more FPS than roguelike to be honest. As for the skeletons, people either love em or hate em.

IMHO, since polishing is 80% of gamedev (with the 20/80 80/20 rules), maybe you should speak a little more about it ? I think that telling us what you did during that phase could be good testimony / education material.
Hey, that's a good idea. I'd say that I spent the majority of polish time actually just playing the game. I wanted to make sure everything was all neat and balanced, so maybe there's something I could've done to speed up that process a little. Also, I find polish kinda hard to talk about because idk how to define it. One might even make the case that adding content (at least in some cases) is polish itself.
