Sunny Day Real Estate is such an incredible band. Been listening to them for over 25 years. How it Feels is still my favorite SDRE album but I love them all. Can't wait for a new album. Please oblige
You guys sound amazing as always, and I've been loving the new tracks too! So happy I got to see you at Bumbershoot last year. I hadn't been to a SDRE show since the Rising Tide tour
Honestly agreed. The drums were a huge part of the original album's power. Every time I want it to really explode, the drums stay buried and muted. Well performed and clean sounding, but the mix definitely disappoints.
Diary was also recorded live with limited overdubbing. This is just a different studio, engineer, vision, mix engineer. Different recording desk, etc. Plus theyre 30 years older. Its slightly more refined.
@mariteaux so one definite thing to keep in mind is 30 years after music is released you lose copyright ownership so re-recording it gives them full ownership (again). Def Leppard did it with their stuff. Idk if that was any motivation for them to record it again. But I also don't think the band was truly thinking about the re-recordings hitting as hard or being the same as the original. I think they wanted an equally honest representation of those songs from a current life perspective, equal to how they were back in 93/94 when it was recorded/released. I agree though certain things don't hit quite the same. I do think certain aspects to the guitars and amp/pedal selection are richer and fuller and more present. And have more definition.
@@ultrajayme Thats cool the original album was recording live. I think with this recent recording of the album, the drums are lower in the mix. The originals packed more power in that department
Great Version and vocals are incredible

Legends live forever ✅
Yessss
Hermoso ! Te amo mucho Sunny siempre 🖤🇦🇷 gracias
Magic as always 👍
Will there be a CD?
This sounds great for a live album, but there is no denying the original studio recordings hit harder. Especially the drums

@@ultrajayme Definitely agree it's more refined, but I'm not sold on that being a good thing for an album like Diary.
