@@markottewell8897it means something new from something old. The song was originally 3/4 written during the sessions for their 3rd album 1998’s how it feels to be something on lp. They decided to finish it and add it to the end of the new live in studio recording of their seminal first album diary that just came out this month.

I was born the year Diary came out. I found them in college and fell in love with each album in chronological order. I am in a time of rebirth personally and this is like the soundtrack to a new chapter in my life as I face turning 30 myself this year.

I ask because it has the edges of a Nate bassline but the darkness and melody of what Jeff Palmer did. As a bass player I’d love to know if he adjusted something that was already there or if he truly threaded the needle and wrote a bassline that captured both eras. Either way it sounds unbelievable, all of you do. Also don’t forget to come back to New Orleans.

Man, what a great song. I love the "How it Feels..." era of the band. I honestly think Jeremy sounds better than ever. The song has such a great groove. William's drums in particular are such a force. I hope this is not the end of new music for the band!

I've only recently discovered this band, and it's one of the best things that has happened to me. I love how their songs are a journey through sensitive and emotional situations and landscapes, without being too sappy; all from a mature point of view acquired, I guess, through the years.
Sunny Day Real Estate is simply the greatest band that ever was, is, and ever will be.

Huge kudos my friend, and, at the danger over "over thinking it" as my amazing wife like to remind me I do about everything, thank you for "sacrificing" the "tangible" piece of art for the greater good making this video not so much of a "music video" as much as it with all the parts becoming a whole, A thought provoking and awe inspiring piece of artistic visual media / art. The Huntington show had Incredible lighting makes me believe the song played live with this projected behind the band or on the screens plus with the flashes through the venue matching the strikes in this would be an amazing immersive experience.
