    For UE5 users, if you are having your character stretched after retargeting with the IK rig, try using the traditional method with UE4 as in the video and just migrate the asset. It worked for me.

    oh my god, this was such a great find. i love you!!! this tutorial and the tutorial i found that allowed me to use ALS 4 in the project i was already working on has saved me loads of work. since i don't know what i am doing, and this saved me a million minutes of rewatching tutorials to get me back to where i am in my project. i hot that sub and like button 69 times, i know it only counts the last hit, but took a fraction of the time you saved me to do that. THANKS!!!

    [FIXED]
    I followed the tutorial step-by-step but my character just can't be converted, I even tried the same Eve. I checked the console and this is the error: hip_to_root raised 'bpy_prop_collection[key]: key "Copy Location" not found' when processing eve.fbx
    Blender Version: 2.91.2
    Mixamo Converter Tested Versions: 28 and "master"
    Please, help.
    [FIX]
    Change the Blender version to 2.80 that works fine, as I see, there's no support for newer versions yet.

    I did everything but my animations are still not working properly, wrists, fingers and feet are messed up

    ok great vid! but what if we want to import a custom animation in blender or cascaduer, is there an addon for that as well?

    im getting this, Error: Not all files could be converted, look in console for more information. its says im using blender 3.1.2.
    EDIT: it works with Blender 2.8

      same here... maybe it only work with unreal old versions 5.3 here...

    Nevermind...I fixed it.
    Instead of importing the mesh (into the skeleton), After I imported the materials and the converted skeletal mesh, I had to re-import just the skeletal mesh alone, with the old skeleton added to it. Then, I made sure that "remove degenerates" was checked, along with "import normals" selected instead of "compute normals."
    Then, I went back into the "mesh" option (within the newly converted asset), and selected "re-import base mesh."
    That's it!
    *Here's a bonus for those of you with problems with the retargeting problem (IF your character was in A-pose): To fix this, I had to make a t-pose, then use the ">>Right-click >> Create >>Create PoseAsset," as described in THIS video, and do the same thing with my character, and then the same process with the ALS character...again, just like in this video. ((WATCH FROM 5:15 TO SEE THAT PROCESS.))
    I'm not sure about other retargeting problems, but, there ARE videos for it...SEARCH!!

    This is good...but on my end, after converting it in blender and bringing it into UE 4.27, the skeleton is set right, and the materials are correct, but the mesh has zero normal tangents, and I can't change it.
    The mesh is whole, but the materials are not in those zero tangent spots, and the rest of the model is jagged.
    It's not a problem with low pixels. I know this, because I already had the model in UE already, and it looks great, but after doing this process, either blender screwed up those tangents, or it was in the import settings, bringing THIS model in...
    Is there something I can do to fix this???
    Using Blender 3.4.1 and Unreal Engine 4.27.2

    Whenever I import the model it just crashes my engine. Is there a fix?

    Unreal engine crashes for me at 7:17 when I swap the AnimMan Skeletal Mesh with the new character. Any ideas?

      I dont really have answer to that, but you could back up your projects and reinstall the engine.

    I did everything right, but there's only two problems.
    1) After I did the Animation Retargeting, this went well, except every animation where the character is crouching is up in the air. Standing poses are fine, though.
    2) Even with this problem, I tested the character anyways. The camera is wonky; zooms forward and back, then stops on the character as normal. BUT, when I move, the camera is under the ground. If I ragdoll the character, it gets stuck in the ground.
    Anybody have a solution (or solutions) to this (these)???

      I think you write wrong Root bone name (hips) on blender Mixamo script

    nvm im dumb this tutorial is amazing follow all the steps closely and itll work great only "issue" ive noticed so far is the speed of my characters animations due to having to scale him down from being dummy huge. this tutorial is amazing thank you

    file auto loads to blender, doesn't save. File importing to ue4.25(x) crashes on import :/

    i have a model with multiple parts, its a head, with torso and legs separated so the player can equip different clothing. how do i get this to work with that? i had it working in my other project, but when i convert it and bring it in the way you describe, it tells me it can't merge the bones

    Can anyone help me - When I check the retargeting manager it only shows me the root bone :( I cant find how to add the others even manually

    This process almost only works with that model. I tryed several models from mixamo library, but their skeletons are all different :(

    Blender 2.92 didn't work. But it worked with 2.80! =)
